The Devil's PlaygroundA Left 4 Dead / Resident Evil CrossoverFor years there has been a silent power struggle between the well-known pharmaceutical Umbrella Company, and the good ol' biological-scientists at CEDA. Though, due to the secrecy behind both's experimentation, the war of words has gone unresolved.
Until now, that is.
With disaster coming from either side of the country; CEDA's rage virus having leaked in the east and umbrella's various virus strands getting loose in the west, it seemed the perfect time to see just who created the better creatures. The clash somewhere in the middle of the country was eminent.
And executives and scientists alike were more than willing to sit back and watch the fireworks.

1. Lots of BSing with information is allowed. (But don't go too crazy/ off the original product) 2. No auto-killing or auto-hitting others. 3. Violence is a must. 4. Try to keep this one more active and have less time spent wandering around in daisies. 5. I am more than open to suggestions for events the survivors/carriers/infected could be put through

Aiden The young man panted as he continued to run down the cool, dripping street. It seemed like the heavens had given up on the infected country, like whoever up there had been trying to drown them out the past few days. It had rained and rained, making running from freaks all the harder. It was a little more slippery and his clothes were heavy.
Then again, Aiden had more in him than he would have thought. Cardio was a pretty big rule in the new, infected world. And though his lungs burnt with erratic breath, he continued to sprint from his pursuers. Man, the years of smoking probably didn't seem like a good idea anymore. He was going to take that last pack out of his back pocket and burn it... That is, if he lived through this chase.
Cerberus; they were the scariest ******** things he had seen since high school practice girls. Dogs hadn't ever scared him before, but somehow the fact that they looked like some vulture's leftovers made them all the more freaky. And boy could they run...
Aiden attempted not to cringe at the sound of a howl behind him, followed by three others. It was a pack, a small one, but when it came to lightening-fast zombie dogs in a thoroughly infected city, you really didn't have much of a chance anyways.
His heart dropped at the sight of a fence. It wasn't a fruit stand at very least, but it was a rather stupid thing to get him killed. He couldn't make it over in time, no one ever did...
The blonde spun around, though he continued to slide until his back pressed to the wire fence. He leveled his shotgun on the head of the pack, watching as the diamond formation slowed to a causal walk towards him. The leader, which had probably once been a fine doberman, snapped it's exposed teeth and walked forward. In the light of the streetlamp, the creature's eyes glowed.
Aiden bared his teeth back, his own eyes glowing as he leaned into the light.

The flat city rooftops gave a better veiw of the sodden infested city below. Other buildings towered over it on two sides but also left two sides open. The door to the stairs leading up had a barricade in front of it, ensuring that the only way up was the narrow fire escape running down the building on one side. Dark rain clouds billowed over head and the sounds of constant rain drops and her own breathing was the only thing the young woman had heard in a while. Sitting up there in the rain, she somewhat wished she had brought a longer sleeved top to this place. Sighing, thankful her dreads were still in place from her headband and out of her dripping face, Morrigan Brookes looked down over the side of the building that held the fire escape. Her rifle sat across her lap where it had been since those god awful bats earlier. She shuddered at that, her dark green eyes scanning the sky again nervously. Morrigan had never liked bats, even little ones. These were much worse. Though, not a worse as some of the other things she had seen so far. The sound of footsteps and padding claws caught her attention. 'Aw, wha' di hell is it now?!' She growled, bring her rifles sight to her eyes. A man, running from dogs. Big, angry dogs. She sighed angrilly when she seen the man put his back against a fence. 'He so could'a made dat. Idiot.' She took aim at the one nearest her, one of the slightly smaller ones that looked like it may try to flank him if he moved. And this town was supposed to be a good place to hide until she was forgotten about. Well, at least now they might think her dead instead. She fired and got the creature right through the side of the head. It turned to look at her and she cursed. 'Damn ya undead things! That shoul' totally 'ave killed ya!' She yelled at it angrilly. Taking another shot. And another. 'CURSE YA TA DI UNDE'WORL'!' She screamed at the infernal thing. Head, chest, shoulder, it should be dead by her standards. Those bats had died well enough to suit her. Once more and it fell. 'Good.' She nodded with satisfaction, standing up from her hiding place and walking onto the first platform of the fire escape. 'Don' jus' stand there! SHOOT DI T'INGS!' She yelled at the young man, aiming and shooting at the next in the line. Their attention was devided now. Reloading, she glared angrilly at the dogs below and partly at the young man. This was a terrible mess she was in.

Aiden; - Adrian Mercer - " You don't see your life flash before you or a white light. All I saw was the world in red. "
---
Aiden glanced up at the sound of shots. He was almost the slightest bit let down that the little show down wouldn't commence.
Surely it would show off his strength to kill them all himself. That or being torn apart would be a welcome release from this godawful world.
He knew their secrets, in bits and pieces, he knew things could never be the same.
The young man forced himself to focus again. He couldn't go and let her get killed over trying to save his a**. He simply nodded at her order, as if he didn't know any better.
Aiden lifted the shotgun, the shots booming nearly as loud as the thunder. Shots torn into the creatures, though they didn't immediately kill most.
They were tough little bastards.
"You should have stayed wherever you were hiding out," he half teased, knocking another creature away with a shot only to have it lift and charge again.
The next shot decimated its face completely.

BANG. Right between the eyes. The young woman laughed. Ah, this was fun when they couldn't reach her. Dogs, no matter how mutated, couldn't climb ladders and for that she was thankful. A few shots more and only two were left standing, thier brothers lying in a bloody mess. Nimbly, the young woman began hopping down the flights of metal stairs, confident that the young man could take care of just two by himself. When she reached the ladder, she jumped the rest of the way down, landing in a crouch with one hand supporting her and the rifle over her shoulder in the other. Morrigan stood up, shaking her dreads back across her shoulders. Checking the street up and down before she made her way over to the young man, shooting at the last remaining dog as she went though the kill was definatly his. 'Mornin'!' She said cheerily. She hadn't seen many people that were uninfected in this place so far. This man made the count three. 'Mm, ah could'a, bu' it would'a been no fun.' She grinned. A noise down a side alley caught her attention, her dark green eyes fixed on it. A trash can fallign over, bottles smashing. But what caused it. 'Ah don' t'ink its safe 'ere..' She muttered. But then, where was now a days?

"No s**t..." the man muttered lowly as he glanced down the way at the fallen trashcan. Despite the thought of more danger, he was relatively calm. Tension wouldn't help either or them.
If she happened to stick around, that was.
Despite the hopelessness behind the question, he glanced up and decided to pose it. "You have anywhere better to go?"
He lowered the shotgun, though he wasn't used to running into people, much less ones that were willing to talk to you a minute before they shot you.
Out of instinct, he had to prepared himself for the worst. To be able to throw himself out of the way of a shot and be able to take a kill shot and...
He was thinking too far ahead again.
His mind had raced a lot in the past few weeks. His blood felt hot, and he wasn't entirely sure he disliked it all.

Morrigan studied the young man up and down. Raising a questioning eyebrow at his shotgun in her face, though the disapproving look faded when he removed it. 'Ya be an odd one..' At his comment she couldn't help but smirk, a small laugh just barely caught before it escaped her throat. 'Hun, if ah knew some place safe, ya t'ink I'd be out 'ere? Na. C'mon.' She giggled, gesturing with her rifle. Odd against her rather slim and lithe frame, it almost gave the image that she wouldn't be able to lift it. Though she did, and with only a little effort. She hoisted it over her shoulder and started on jog down the street in the direction the man had come. 'Fo' starters, hows 'bout we go away from di noise?' She called over her shoulder, not even waiting for him to catch up. Despite his question she didn't think he was all that stupid. Really.
