Personality:
When it comes to humans, Laird is ruthlessly bloodthirsty. He is very calculating and observant, however, so he will not attack a village while it harbors more than two dragon-hunters; however, he has a penchant for hunting down the occasional "wannabe-hunters", headstrong and foolish young men out to prove themselves with no heed to anyone's warnings. He also loves to kill the few humans unlucky enough to have to run some errand in the forest. The only human he respects is his Bound, and only because the man seems to be loyal to him and to share his mindset.

History:
Laird's parents were stolen from him when he was young; they faced death at the hands of dragon-hunters, before his frightened eyes as he cowered behind a rock in his home cave. At this time he was but a hatchling, albeit an older one of about 5 years of age; his then-rudimentary hunting skills somehow sustained him, and they slowly improved despite his lack of parents to finish teaching him. Laird never forgot the faces of the men who killed them, and at the age of 13, once he deemed himself strong enough, he managed to track them down as they sought more victims.
Foolishly, he let rage overcome him and attacked the party without thinking; he managed to kill all but one of them, but came out far from unscathed - indeed, if another dragon hadn't found him and managed to magically close over his multitude of wounds on the spot, he likely would have died from the encounter. Covered in scars and chastised by his caretaker for his recklessness, he learned that it was vital to be more careful and calculating of the risks before considering attacking.
Nevertheless, he set off in the direction he'd seen the man fleeing, and on the outskirts of a village, he spied a boy of about 14, who bore a striking resemblance to the dragon-hunter who had escaped. Once he made sure no one else was about, he seized the boy, Bound him, and fled, deeming this just revenge for the hunters' cruelty.
As he ran, he forced his way into the boy's thoughts, expecting to find fear and anger at having been stolen by the very creature his father had likely been teaching him to hunt; however, he found quite the opposite.

Marcel Jedrek



Name: Marcel Jedrek

Personality:
Marcel is a cruel man who cares only for himself and his draconic master. He has no love for his fellow humans; if they do not bend to his will without resistance, he does what he can to bring them suffering. The fact that he has followed in the footsteps of his beastly father has occurred to Marcel only once or twice, but each time he shoved it to the back of his mind, and it no longer bothers him.

History:
Marcel grew up with an authoritarian and frequently abusive father. One day when Marcel was 7 and talked back to his father, the angry man slashed his arm with a knife, leaving Marcel with a scar he bears to this day. His mother, worried for her son, leapt at her husband, knocking him to the ground; further enraged, he stabbed her to death. From that time on, Marcel contained his anger out of fear, but it seethed inside him, and he longed to escape. From 13 on, he sought an apprenticeship and a place to live with the village craftsmen, but none would take him on. Marcel never got a reprieve from his vicious father until the day that Laird snatched him away.
