What do you think of an American remake of Torchwood? It's supposed to be shown on the Fox channel. Also, RTD & John Barrowman are on board. I'm not too sure about this idea myself since they screwed up on the American remake of Life on Mars.

I'm afraid nothing good will come from it, since Jack is gay and they might not like it with fox, i'm afraid they'll change the whole thing that makes Torchwood refreshing and new, but most of all i'm afraid they'll kill it within the season like they did with Dollhouse sad

It most likely wont be as Amazing as the original Torchwood... since everyone will be American and I agree it will probably feel like a Life on Mars rendition as well...

Personally, I really hope they don't do an American version. It would take away from the brilliance of the original, UK version. And yeah, look what happened to their attempt at an American 'Life on Mars'. Total flop.
And I agree with Mogway_v: I can't see Fox being okay with Jack's omnisexuality. It would be tuned down a great deal for US television, which just wouldn't be the same. It wouldn't be a genuine Jack.

Word is that Fox have decided not to pick up Torchwood. Hopefully RTD will approach other US networks - I'm still hoping for something HBO.

I don't think that some of America is ready for Jack really. I know that John Barrowman has already said that he won't do it if they decide to change Jack's sexuality. I love him the way he is and I would rather the show remain unchanged...although I would also like if some of the other characters hadn't been killed off but I won't go into that...
