Hey everyone I'm Rosa if ya didn't know. I am going to start a new thread so get you facts and arguements ready.

Do you think Obama is doing a good job as president and why?

I say Obama is and isn't doing a good job. I say this because he is trying to do as much as he can and he is taking in all these complants and responsiblity but he hasn't done anything yet and its going to take him a while to actually start something.

In my opinion he did what everyother political campaign has done. Empty promises to get votes and then executing their own agenda.

but from my point of view i see that some of his promises he is trying to fulfill like health care. I live near this target and about every other Saturday these people are boycotting against health care. Now what sense does that make, Around 84.7% of citizens use some form of health care so why would you take it away and that's something he promised and he is working forward on.

I don't think Obama even deserves to be president. Like politics, a lot involves telling lies and making false promises to get the people's attention. I wouldn't have voted for him at all. He just ruined his chances for a re-election basically, which isn't all that bad in a way. He is creating more harm than good. I don't think he thinks things through. I don't think he realizes how much his decisions will hurt the country in the long run. His philosophy was to bring "hope" and "change" to this nation. So far, I haven't seen any of that.

So Aqua I can call you Aqua....Anyway I respect that you do not like Obama in any way or form but I do have a couple of questions for you:

You said and I quote, "He is creating more harm than good."
So basically you saying that he is destroying the country, how is he doing that....can I get a little more back up info.

And also your last 2 sentences say, "His philosophy was to bring 'hope' and 'change' to this nation. So far, I haven't seen any of that." Well he is probably going to need the whole eight terms to get half of what he wants done and plus the president can't do everything over night he is just one mere man.

I believe that each president that sat in that oval office at least tried to do what was best for his country, or what he thought was best.

I agree with sonicrunner001, most elected officials are elected not based on record but rather what the voters are hoping for.

I think that the problems facing the US as a nation were not caused by any one person but are problems caused by social and economic forces. These are issues that many people have contributed to over a long period of time. It would take a lot of people acting over an equally long period of time to change them, but the nation is too polarized and bigoted to decide how to change, let alone put those changes into practice. Even the commander-in-chief can't change all that by himself.

Hmm...I'm probably not the most effective at explaining these types of things. I just don't like what he's doing and he keeps cutting into the national debt, which will cause taxes to raise once again. For example, this healthcare plan of his will cut into the taxes even more and I am not enjoying how that may end up. He is also a socialist and a lot of his ideas are very liberal, which I don't like.

Well, with this "change" and "hope" thing of his, he has given us a bunch of empty promises. Perhaps that's just what politics is at times. I know not of one thing he has done to truly benefit this country. Even if he is trying, he is failing greatly. What he thinks is best isn't benefitting the people.

Aqua, about the health care cutting into the taxes....
Think about all of those people who actually need health care, who are probably dying right now because of the health care situation. Make up your mind people do want people to live or die.

I think it its really hard to work under pressure and that is what Obama is facing the pressure of the world coming against him. Why would you vote for the man to be in office and then say he is just a piece of crap. I don't get that?

I'd rather stay out of politics, so don't kick me out because of this. But I do hate parts of the damn health plan that passed. I will say this: If every one of those politicians was replaced with a typical middle class citizen, we would probably be better off... Y'all can chew on that.

I don't think he is doing much good. Yes the healthcare thing is nice but its universal its illegal NOT to have it. I can't afford what he is proposing. I am just outside the government giving me help and im just barely making ends meet as is. how can i afford health care rates that are higher because i am over weight and my husband is in pretty darn good health?? Also the whole oil spill thing? I think Obamas Barking way to much and not biting....

Again Obama is doing the best he can. Sometimes he makes outrageous discussions and sometimes he makes the perfect discussions.

He can be pushed to do things because of what the "people" say. Now think about it, If someone was on you back 24/7 then how would you respond?
