Parun's pear swung side to side as he trotted through the grass, pausing he glanced over his shoulder to make sure his friend was still right behind him. In the distance a lone tree stood by itself, that was where the two were headed. The winged gem critter sped up, flapping his wings to get himself in the air. He quicly reached the tree, and turned to look at Daiki. Dropping the pear to the ground below he grinned, "Here we are Pear, the place of your birth!" Pretty green pears surrounded Parun, making it seem complete, there was no doubt, he was now a partridge in a pear tree. "Now to find the perfect pear to replace my replace my pear."

Daiki loped easily alongside Parun as the gems made their way to the tree that had given Parun the pear he was always carrying about. The sparkling green gem sped up when his friend had, running as he watched Parun fly. Slowing, Daiki smiled as Parun took his place in the tree. He cut a pretty picture there, the partridge in the pear tree. "Is there a way for me to help?" he called up to his friend.

The winged Gem critter nodded. "Sure, just look for the prettiest, greenest, not dead anywhere pear in the whole tree!That will my new pear," he replied happily, before taking wing again so he could search easily through the branches, moving to examine one pear and then the next, under a critical eye before dismissing it for whatever flaw he might have found.

Daiki nodded and walked up to the tree, using low branches to climb into it. He sniffed at the first pear he saw and smiled; they smelled good. Resisting the urge to take a bite out of one, Daiki could hear his friend fluttering around the top of the tree. The emerald green gem searched for a flawless pear. When he thought he found one, he called out to Parun. "What about this one?"

Parun swooped to see the pear that Daiki picked out, he looked it over for a few moments before speaking, "Hmm.... It's a good one but... There might be a better one. We'll set it to the side and keep looking." The partridge gem told his green companion, the winged male had often spent anywhere from half a day to a week searching for the perfect pear, thanks to him being very picky when it came to pears.

He smiled, glad that he'd found a good one. "Okay," he said and set his pear to the side, in a natural basket of branches and leaves. Resuming his search, Daiki found another couple pears he though Parun might like and set them to the side with the first. He thought it would be easier for them both to just search now and put the good ones in one place. Once they'd been through the whole tree, they could begin to narrow the rest of them down. He took his time going through more pears, and after finding a couple more he yawned.

The flying gem sat on a higher up branch, watching his friend make the pile before finally understanding exactly what he was doing, then he turned back to the higher pears and began to scan them, occasionally adding a pear to the small pile Daiki had started. Parun glanced down to see how his green companion was doing right as the other male yawned. Grabbing two of the slightly less than perfect pears he had found he flew down to land next to his friend, offering one of the pears to the green male and grasping hold of the second with his tail so he could speak, "We could take a break if you want," He offered, "Eat and a nap, I'm getting a bit low on energy myself." That last part was a lie, he wasn't tired at all, but he didn't want his friend to force himself to continue searching if he was tired, after all Daiki didn't have wings, if he fell he would hit the ground hard and the winged male didn't want to loes his best friend.
