~Io~ Io was sitting in bed, the covers warming his lap and the open window cooling his face. His pale face was tinted blue as the bright light of his laptop screen illuminated. There were multiple windows and tabs open on that screen as well as an Daemon news letter portrayed through his spectacle lens. With one eye on the recent news on the Daemon Network and the other on the recent government propaganda and news reports. Maybe a entertainment site or two, to keep him in a good mood. His fingers flew over the keypad like a blur, blogging about possible government conspiracies and how the lunch served yesterday was not even fit to feed a starving buzzard. Two different blogs of course. An IM popped up in the corner of his screen from one of his many friends in a foreign country in all caps "GO TO SLEEP!!!" TheArtfulDoger yelled. Io smiled and replied. "Yes you highness. 10 min. more."
He finished off what he was doing and bid TheArtfulDoger good night. Io yawned and fell back onto his pillows, looking up at the top bunk where his roommate and self-proclaimed brother slept. Io soon fell asleep as well.

Jason
Unbeknown-st to Io, his brother was not asleep. He lay there, staring at the ceiling, going over recent events in his mind. He had joined the Daemon a month before, and since then, his life, and perspective of the world had changed immensely. He had yet to tell Kisu of this, and wondered just what had gotten into her lately. She had skipped classes on and off for about a month, and had looked more distant and depressed when she did attend. He decided he'd tell her tomorrow, if she even showed up. He slipped on his Daemon glasses on his head and they turned on automatically. He skimmed through recent reports, local ones mainly. They had gained a dozen new members in the last week alone, and they would no-doubt get more soon. He read through some of the world-wide reports, and read an article on a SWAT agent that had gained a near Mythical status overnight. Roy "Burning man" Merrit, who is the only man known to have entered Sobol's private estate and Survive. Jason, like most Daemon operatives, Idolized the man, even though he was one of the men tasked with stopping the Daemon. Jason switched to a blog he frequented, and saw that the most recent post was from a moment ago. He leaned over, looking down at his sibling's sleeping form, and shook his head. "Like you're really asleep" he whispered, before pulling his head back up. He pulled off his glasses and set them on an elevated night stand, and yawned. Closing his eyes, he quickly fell into a dreamless sleep.

12-2-09 4:20 AM >Kisu<
Kisu lay on the couch, a fresh cigarette butt in an ashtray on the coffee table and an unopened Budlight in her hand. The lights were off, but the room was still slightly lit by the orange-yellow glow of a street lamp. The apartment was neat, well kept and smelled mildly of cigarette smoke. Ever since her father had died, Kisu had become an instrument of revenge on the Daemon scum. She had just come back from Sacramento. She had been payed to eliminate a member of that cursed daemon Network. She sighed and put a hand to her head. An unexpected turn of events had led to a police chase and a scraped forehead. She had been able to snipe the target, but due to her own carelessness, a civilian had spotted the gun barrel and notified the police. Pulling her self into a sitting position, she resolved herself to go to school that day, even though her body felt twice as heavy and every muscle sore. After all, if she missed to much school, her best friend Jason would notice something. "Perhaps he already has..."

It was a cool morning, and Jason could hear a few birds chirping in nearby treetops. He walked along the paths going from his on-campus dorm to his morning class at 9:30. As he walked, he reviewed Daemon info though his orange tint sports glasses. There had been some shady activity in an adjacent county, with more than one Daemon member turning up dead, and it was beginning to worry him a little. A group of students walked by, and one stopped, asking where he got his glasses. "Wallmart" he replied, looking bored. "Cool, thanks dog!" he said before joining the rest of his group. The campus wasn't that busy, even though it was the middle of the week, and knots of students lounged about between classes. Another small group walked by, and Jason saw a blue call-sign above one of their head's naming him 'Huntinggeek04' who it also said was a level 4 Architect. They exchanged a nod, and continued about their business. Finally Jason reached class, and he sat down. He was early, and had a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach, knowing he would tell Kisu of his involvement with the Daemon when she arrived. Anyway, he knew she'd understand.

12-2-09 9:20 AM >Kisu<
Kisu roared into the school parking lot, her cherry red Honda Street bike a ferocious growling beast, and parked it in the student’s parking lot. Her body was still sore but not as much as it was the night before. He lifted her helmet from her head, her arms protesting slightly and shook out her long brown hair. She had ten minutes before class started and it was on the other side of campus. She strode through the front gates at a brisk pace, stuffing her keys into her jean pocket. She stopped at the café and purchased a coffee double shot espresso and continued to her class. She made it with four minutes to spare. Looking around, she noticed that there were only a few students in their seats, the others hanging out outside. Of the students in the seats, she spotted her friend Jason. She nodded at him with a smile and took her seat next to him, a slight grimace on her face as she lowered herself into her chair. She put her book bag on the ground and leaned back in her seat. “Hey there tiger, what’s with the funky glasses?” Kisu pulled at a loose thread on the gauze that covered the scrape on her forehead.

Jason was dozing off, head leaning against his hand, when Kisu walked into the classroom. He sat up, gaining his composure and watched her sit in front of him. When she pointed out his "funky" glasses, he paled slightly. You forgot to take them off!? he yelled at himself mentally. However, he recovered quickly. "I Um, got them at Wall-mart..." he said, attempting to dodge the question. He looked at her, she looked tired, and badly bruised. Just what has she been doing lately? he wondered. He sighed. She was his best friend, he could tell her anything. "Actually, I got the glasses from...a friend..." he looked around uncomfortably and leaned close to her, hoping to tell her secretly when the teacher walked in. "Pull your books out, today we'll be covering chapters four through five..." he continued on, and once again Jason kicked himself for not telling her yet. "I'll tell you after" he said, pulling out his books.

Wednesday 12/2/09 9:30 AM >Kisu<
Kisu turned her attention to the teacher as he began to lecture. She stole a glance at Jason, her thoughts a jumbled mess. Though the teacher spoke loudly enough fro her to hear, nothing he said made any connection in head. Instead her thoughts were as thus, Does he suspect something of me? Why did her turn pale at the mention of those glasses? What does he need to tell me so badly! A sudden epiphany came to her, and it scared her. Is he...he wouldn't be...there's no way, Jason wouldn't join an organization like that, she chuckled to her self, realizing how stupid that accusation would be. Rummaging through her backpack, she brought out her spiral notebook that she took notes in. She tore out a page and scribbled something on it. It said:
Hey, you said you needed to tell me something? Would you like to come to the coffee shop with me after class and we can talk about it there.
She folded it up, and placed it on Jason's desk.

Jason looked at the note, nodding to himself. He wrote: 'Okay, see ya then.' and passed it back. Class passed quickly, and Jason pulled his bag over his shoulder. He almost put his glasses on, as he had gotten used to putting them on between classes. Instead he stood up, and walked to the door. He stood there, waiting for Kisu to follow. He'd noticed that she looked very tense for a moment during class, and wondered just what had caused it. He sighed, shifting his weight from foot to foot. He just wanted to get it over with, though he didn't know why it was worrying him so much.

Wednesday 12/2/09 9:35 AM >Kisu<
Kisu had dozed off in class, still exhausted from the Sacramento hit. When the noise of students chatting and moving out of the room noisily reached her ears, she blinked awake. “Ah? Damn it!” She mentally scolded herself for missing the last half of the class. She sighed and put her notebook in her bag and carefully lifted herself up from her seat. She spotted Jason by the door, he seemed a bit nervous. When she stood, she stretched her back, hearing cracks and pops that made her feel better. Lifting her bag, Kisu made her way to the door.
“Shall we?” She smiled. The coffee shop had delicious finger cakes, and she was sooo in the mood for one of those.

Jason walked with Kisu to the coffee shop, but was silent. He was going to tell her there, when they could relax and talk about it. He noticed that she had fallen asleep, which was unusual, considering they were in one of her favorite classes. Ah well, hopefully we can shed some light on the situation in a minute. Jason found an empty table and pulled a chair for Kisu and himself. They were big, reading chairs, and so Jason leaned back a little trying to get comfortable. Finally he gave up, stood up, and looked at Kisu. "You want anything?" he asked.

Wednesday 12/2/09 10:15AM >Kisu<
The coffee shop smelled great. She sat down across from Jason, let out a soft groan as she did. Once sitting she watched Jason fidget in his seat before standing. She was about to ask him why he was so jumpy when he stood and asked her if she wanted anything. “Um, a finger cake would be nice, and maybe a hot chocolate?” She leaned back and pulled her cell phone out of her pocket, putting it on the table. She watched Jason carefully. He seemed pale. I hope he’s not sick. I wonder if it has anything to do with what he wants to tell me.

Jason nodded and walked over to the counter. While he waited for them to fill his order, he looked nervously around. Whats the worst that could happen? he thought to himself. "Here you go" said the woman behind the counter, handing Jason his order. He walked back over and set Kisu's hot chocolate and finger cake in front of her. He sat down and set his own chocolate in front of him, and fiddled with the lid. He looked at Kisu. "As I've been trying to say." he said, and could feel himself calming as he spoke. "I need to tell you something. I-" and once again he was cut off, this time by Kisu's cellphone, which buzzed urgently. Jason sat back down with a sigh of frustration, and looked around a little nervously Kisu as she answered her cell.

>Kisu<
Kisu accepted the hot chocolate and cake with a gratifying smile, taking a sip right away. The warm, sweet liquid felt great as it slid down her throat and into her belly. She looked up at Jason and saw him fiddling with his own drink. Must be really important. Kisu leaned in as he began but jumped when her cell phone began to buzz. She noticed Jason’s frustration and smiled apologetically. “Sorry, one minute.” She took up her phone and read the message, “New Text Message.” She flipped it open and what she read made her go pale.
From: JD877fox
Next Target: Jason Arpagio
Location: Mt.Sac Ca.
Kisu stared at her phone, unable to speak, or even breathe for that matter. “This must be a mistake.” She said out loud. “They have to be wrong…” She looked up at Jason. “Have you heard of the… the Daemon Network?”

Jason was confused at Kisu's reaction to the text. She was silent for a long time, then she began muttering to herself. Whn she looked up at him, she was pale and looked scared, an expression Jason had never seen on her face before. Then she asked about the Daemon. It was Jason's turn to pale. "Y-yeah." he said. "Thats, sorta what I wanted to talk to you about." he said. However, if her reaction was any indication, this was not going to be good. He eyed his hot-chocolate wearily, trying to avoid eye contact with Kisu. It was already cold.
