As she raced over the savannah, her wet fur plastered flat to her body and her eyes squinted against the stinging rain, Lilah decided that there could definitely be too much of a good thing. Much of her young life had been spent in the search for pure drinking water, and here she was running away from the stuff.
Rounding the base of a small rocky hill, Lilah was delighted to see a shallow sort of cave on the other side. It didn't seem to be occupied, so she darted under the low overhang without a second glance. Foolish, maybe, but she was desperate to get out of the rain. If the rain had come in from the blasted lands, it might be carrying the sickness that Lilah had seen claim so many beasts. Only once she was safe in the cave did she check to make sure she wasn't standing on top of a snake.

(( Oh joy. xD))
Raeros whimpered as he scampered across the savannah. This was his first thunderstorm and he sure as heck didn't like it one bit. He had to find shelter, and quickly. Turning his head around in desperation, he spotted hills ahead. Perhaps there would be a place out of the rain? Raeros flattened his ears against the storm's howl and ran onwards.

One minute Heibai had been searching for water for his dry throat, the next minute, he was seeking shelter away from it. Lots of water fell from the skies, and from the sound of tunder, Heibai guessed that it was a big storm.
At least there will be lots of water after this storm, he thought meekly as he ran towards the only thing he could see - A rocky hill.

Shivering in her shelter, Lilah didn't notice the approaching strangers until they were almost upon her. She half-rose, startled. In the rain she couldn't quite make out the shape of the creatures outside -- the only thing she could tell was that they were small. She moved to the corner of the cave and waited. If they seemed threatening, she would run out into the rain and take her chances. If not -- well, they could always share.

Raeros padded up to the rocky hill, circling round it in search for any dry spots. His spirits rose as he discovered a shallow cave at the bottom of the hill. Without any thoughts, he bounded in and shook off the water in his spotted coat. Finally beginning to settle down, Raeros took a look around and yelped as he spotted another hyena in a corner. He backed up a few paces and eyed the other wearily.

Standing outside a cave he had found, he could see movement inside. He is glad to have found company, but he is unsure if they are friendly or not. Unable to make up his mind about enteing, he yelped, giving warning to anyone inside and asking permission to enter.

No sooner had one strange hyena invaded her shelter then another one was standing outside. Lilah stayed in her corner, eyeing the strangers warily. At least they were hyenas, not some weird and possibly dangerous animals.
"You c'n stay if you want," she barked, nodding at both the hyena shivering in the corner and the one still out in the rain. "Just don't drip on me!" The strangers were polite, and fighting over this pitiful shelter would be a stupid thing to do. She'd rather concentrate on trying to dry off.

Deciding this hyena was on friendly terms, Raeros relaxed a bit. He still stayed in his corner, attempting to rid himself of some of the water still in his fur. After a short pause, he returned his gaze to the older hyena and decided to break the silence. " I... h-hello," he managed.

"Cool." Heibai replied happily, and he promptly entered the cave.
Seeing two hyenas, he blinked and nodded, "Um... Yeah. Helklo, I'm Heibai." The only sounds he could hear after that wee the dripping of water from his wet coat, "And who are you two?"

Lilah, trying to shake the moisture from first one paw and then the other, took a moment to respond. " 'lo. I'm Lilah." She looked up, studying the two strangers. Both as miserable and bedraggled as she was, neither seemed to pose much of a threat.
"I think we're gonna be trapped here for a while," she sighed, looking out at the storm. "Good luck to find the cave, though." At least the cave floor was high enough that no water had seeped in... yet, anyways.

Raeros watched Lilah's movements. "Er... I'm Raeros. Rae for short if you'd like." He turned his head to where Lilah was gazing. " So this is a thunderstorm..." he mused. He sighed and sat down on the cave floor. "Strange gathering, huh?" he said as he resumed shaking the water from himself.

"Yes, strange indeed..." He said as he sat down, licking his paw, "Yes, a tunderstorm. The only thing good about it would be the water after the storm passes. No more dry throat for me then."
He managed to dry one paw, and begun licking the next, "What were you guys doing before this anyway?"

Lilah sighed again and sat down, resigned. There was nothing to do but wait for her fur to dry. She wasn't too eager to lick the rain off -- it might be contaminated. "Strange met, yes," she said, laying her head on her paws and gazing out at the storm.
"I han't seen too many thunderstorms out here. Y'might want to be careful licking that water if it tastes funny," she said, glancing at the other hyenas. "I think s'ok once it stops raining, but you never know. Could be icky stuff in it."

Rae crossed his paws in an orderly fashion and turned his gaze to HeiBai. "Hm... well I've just been wandering for as far as I can remember... I've managed to scrape by just fine." He fought the urge to lick off the water. "What do you mean by icky...?" he said, shifting his eyes to Lilah.

"Icky?" Heibai echoed, "What do you mean?" He stopped licking the water off and stared at Lilah instead with a confused expression. "It tastes just fine to me..."
