Ellende ran her finger over the smooth, flat, cold metal. The dagger glinted even in the dim armory light. She had thought her actions through very carefully. True, she would not go to Hades. But even remaining unconsciously in the mortal world seemed better than what she was going through. Every day, every moment Ellende lived with pain knowing that she had been the cause of Jax’s death. Her heart was red and raw and blistered and she could never recover entirely. Silently she set her own sword down on the ground before her feet. It didn’t seem right to die by her own blade. Ellende sank to her knees and rested the dagger lightly on one wrist. “Jax, I’m sorry,” she whispered. Pressing down, she sliced into her left wrist, followed by her right. Blood gushed from the relatively shallow cuts.

Amber was panicking- she had no idea where Ellende was- she'd asked everyone in camp and she was loosing hope of finding Ellende. She stepped into the Armory, although she had no idea what Ellende would be doing there. She heard someone whistpering to herself in the corner. "Hello" Amber called softly. She was sure she was fairly close to the person now, and by the voice, it was a girl. "Excuse me, have you seen..." Amber felt a dawn of realization and she knelt down beside Ellende. She felt something wet soaking through her kakki shorts. Water? Feeling confused Amber rested a hand on Ellende's shoulder. "Whats going on?" Amber asked.

"Amber, get out." Ellende's voice was steady, controlled. She didn't want to hurt Amber. "Please. Just leave."
((Ellende's curse: After Jax died, Aphrodite showed up and blamed Ellende for his death. Aphrodite pointed out how she had said that Ellende wasn't good enough for Jax all along. Ellende said that she would wait for Jax to return and Aphrodite insisted that he was dead. They got into a nasty little argument that ended with Ellende saying that if Jax was dead then she would never fall in love again and Aphrodite cursing her. Aphrodite swore that if Ellende never fell in love again her soul would remain in the mortal world forever.))

Amber, ignoring this, brushed the tips of her fingers in the wet liqued, now soaking her pants. She put it to her mouth and then was silent. Amber stood up and looked at Ellende with sympathy and complete understanding. "Go ahead, I won't stop you- but I want to let you know that I've tried the same- several times." Amber knew she wouldn't let Ellende kill herself, but she didn't bother trying to make her feel better, she knew that nothing would help.

Ellende looked at Amber, surprised. She had been expecting her to try to stop her. "You've tried suicide?" Ellende asked, more curious than anything else.

Amber felt uncomfortable talking about it, but she smiled for Ellende's sake. "Sure. When I was much younger than you. About seven, actually." Amber remembered how frightened she was, and was about to burst with symapthy. "I wasn't born blind. But my mother... she blamed herself for my blindness. She got so depressed about it, but it was me who was responsible." Amber didn't want this to turn into another dramatic moment about her again so she shortened her story. "Long story short, my mom found me in the bathroom, with a kitchen knife. I thought that it was the solution, but then my mom blamed my suicied act on herself as well." Amber payed close attention to Ellende's breathing, to make sure she wasn't hurting herself again.

Ellende nodded even though Amber couldn't see her. She understood about blaming oneself for something. And to her, suicide was the solution. It was the only way for her to escape the pain. "I'm sorry for you, Amber," Ellende said. "And I'm sorry I'm doing this." Ellende glanced nervously down at the cuts on her wrist. She wasn't the best judge of time, but surely she ought to be dead by now. The wrist had about a million blood veins and the blood had soaked her t-shirt and jeans. So why wasn't she dead?

"I'm sorry too Ellende." Amber bowed her head, so it looked like she was ashamed. Ellende was probally thinking that she was sorry about Ellende's suicide act, but really, she was sorry about what she was about to do. She reached for her swords, and as quickly as Ellende looked up at Amber, they were upon Ellende. Luckily for Ellende, Amber had used the hilts of her swords to knock Ellende out- she couldn't let Ellende make this mistake.
((After you respond to this, I'll post in the Infermary okay?))

((Yay Amber! I didn't know how the heck you would save Ellende but you did it!))
Ellende looked at Amber pityingly. The poor child looked so ashamed and sad. "It's al-" Ellende started to say, but before the words were out of her mouth Amber had hit her with the hilt of her swords. Ellende's bloody, pale body collapsed onto the ground, unconscious.

"Umm...." Amber heard Steven come in. She bit her lip, wondering if he had noticed the unconsious girl on the floor. Amber posistioned herself in front of Ellende and cleared her throat. "Right now is kind of inconvinient...."
