An important one they forgot to mention. The by stander effect.
When there's only one person around in a situation, they are much more likely to lend assistance to people in need, whether it's to help pick up something dropped or something more important like when their life is in danger. When there's a group of people though, no one acts. They all expect someone else will do it, so no one volunteers or pauses.

the bystander effect? when there's more than one person that witnesses something bad happening, no one will step up and do anything about it because they all think someone else will do it. yes/no?

no observer status states that until you see something with your own eyes every single possible outcome exists in that senerio the most famous case of this is Schrodinger's cat where he put a cat in the box and asked his students whether the cat was alive or dead. Well until they see inside the box every single outcome exists the cat could be alive or it could be dead or it may not even be a cat (note it may be called something else this is just what i heard it refereed to as)

Oh I have read about that when learning about quantum mechanics and paradoxes. If something happens to the atom or whatever a poison will be released and kill the cat sad

I've worked in the EMS field for 4 years. I don't stand by even if I'm off duty (I love helping). I also quit the EMS field because I couldn't morally do it anymore. I've watched people die because of "Insurance" reasons. I was fighting the system the whole time and it was too stressful for me to put my job on the line everytime I tried to do the right thing. Even my partners were afraid of my calls to do what's right then what we're told...

Lovely top ten psych experiment summary.

I wish the first three videos were still up and running.

I believe I have seen the Milgram's Obedience to Authority Experiment before, but I am not sure if it was this or another set of videos with the same purpose. Very interesting to watch anyhow.

I hate hearing of the cases like the ones on the last video. Did you hear about the story in which a young girl was beat and gang raped while her peers, among others, gathered around and watched, doing nothing to help her? Most armed with cell phones, yet no calls to the police.

The link in the second post states that the video is private even after I had given an e-mail address.
