For a low graphics free game... I have gotten hooked. Unfortunately I keep dying at the hands of a bear harassing my pups (Noooooooooooo!)
And at the hands of untimely glitches xD
Anyone have any tips or experiences to share?

I know I suck at this game and yet I'm hooked on it too XD. I was so mad when a fox came in and killed one of my pups one time. I chased that thing for so long but I finally managed to kill it. It 's funny how mad I was for a game. XD

That's awesome. I usually just avoid the bears unless they're eating my food then I try and chase them off.

You have to bite the bear three times and it won't come back. Then just kill coyotes. Lol. Yeah, my mate killed one of my pups D:< We were going thru the river and she picked one up and went thru the deep end! She killed it! D:

We have the WOLF by the ears and we can not keep him......
Kuzoku : I hadn't gotten that far. I started playing the game, and just got a mate. love the game though. Unfortunately i got busy, and eventually... I forget whether that was when my hard drive broke or I upgraded OS's... either way I lost everything. Ive been meaning to get that game back though
nor can we safely let him go... -Thomas Jefferson, Missouri Compromise.

I just got the game and I'm playing level two. But the very minute my mate and I found a suitable den (far from both stranger wolves and elk), I run behind it and find a stranger wolf just... idling like he had reason to be there. Then RIGHT AFTER I get him to run off, I run back to the den and a coyote attacks and kills two of my pups before I can kill him! WTH?
And how do you get your mate to help you hunt? Mine spends all day running circles around the den and occasionally feeding the pups (which I've been having trouble with because I can't line up with them without two minutes of effort). As a matter of fact, much of the time I look up he is nowhere to be seen. Then suddenly he zooms past me, runs two to three laps around the den and disappears again. And alas, when I'm hunting, he's still running around like a maniac and continues to do so until I limp off and die trying to make it back to the den. After being killed by elk three times while hoping my mate would give me a hand, I've resigned to eating carcasses which something (most likely some bear I have yet to see) is leaving in abundance all over my territory. I mean, I turn on the scent-vision and I can see ten scent trails from carcasses lining the hill. And that wasn't happening before... stressed . Seriously, it's very vexing!
Other than all that, I do like the game, though. blaugh

I just eat from the carcases. Sometimes my mate goes and hunts. I barely see her. Lol. But, to get all four pups to the end, save the game every few minutes. If you kill one, go back and try again ^^

The game can be frustrating but I think that's what makes it addicting. That's so weird with the mate thing though. My mate takes very good care of my pups, he doesn't hunt though. All do all the hunting but that's okay keeping the pups near the den and out of trouble is a full time job anyways.

I love that game. Bears are so annoying, though. I was waiting so long for Slough Creek to come out, and when I did, I finished it fast. The bears scared me at times, but I managed to fend them off, only dying once. The most pups I've ever had survive was 2, though.
Once I finish the game, though, it keeps putting me close to the finish and making me finish it again without giving me the chance to save. It's annoying. But yeah.

OMG, I NEED HELP! I started over and I'm now stuck on the last level of the second game. I had all four of my little loved ones and I decided to give the journey a shot. I picked up a pup and headed out thinking my family would follow. They should have mentioned they wouldn't! I made it all the way to the river before realizing that two of my cubs weren't with us. I ran all the way back to the den trying to find them. I found one, but one was missing. I know he was still alive because his paw print showed that he was, though just barely. I tried to use the map to find him, but I kept running into stranger wolves and ending up back at the river. I tried to scavenge food for my starving pups, but again I kept running into other wolves. Then when I crossed the river I realized that to get to the star, I needed to cross again. And guess who's always waiting for me on the other side? I was so frustrated I almost cried. My po' babies! What am I supposed to be doing? And is the hawk/eagle thing dangerous? Because it comes in and drags across the ground amongst my cubs (I'm assuming in some glitchy attempt to capture one) every other time I turn my back.
