Sentai Filmworks announced that an English dubbed version of Clannad is in the works. Those who bought the subtitled releases will have a chance to upgrade their dvds upon release somehow.
Hey, might hold a "Guess the VAs" contest about it later...

I will have a chance to upgrade!? If that's really true, then i'm up for it. -Because I thought that since I already have the whole collection of Clannad/Clannad Afterstory, would I have to buy another one with an english dub-

I JUST WATCHED IT!! It's sort of terrible.
Tomoya= Orphen (Orphen Revenge)
Nagisa= Lycoris,Duck/Princess Tutu (Princess Tutu)
Kyou= Cleo (Orphen Revenge)
Sunohara= Leo (Ghost Stories)
That's about all I know for the voice actor cast.

Okay, HONESTLY! Greg Ayres doing a reprise of the comedy relief friend of main character? C'mon..... I know they both have blonde hair but still....
I think I posted my pics to who I would want voiced what.. gotta find it though. But aside from the ones listed above and Hillary Haag, the other names I'm not as familiar with.
But yeah, someone with a cute voice is definitely playing Nagisa.

I like how Luci Christian voiced Nagisa. She made Nagisa sound pretty close to her Japanese voicing. ^^ And the way she sang the Dango Daikazoku song was spot on, both in melody and translation (she sang the words "big dango family" instead of "dango daikazoku, but that's what the terms directly translate into, anyway). I thought the way she said "anpan!" in the beginning was kind of weak, though.
Anyway, I don't like Sunohara's dub voice all that much. I mean, I know he acts childish, but Greg Ayres makes him sound waay too childish to me. I don't like Kyou's voice, either. Her dub voice is too deep and makes her sound older than a high school student. I guess it would be fitting for Kyou's second season self when she's older and out of high school, but right now, she doesn't sound like a high schooler to me at all.
Other than those two, I don't really have any problems with the voicings. I do wish that Hilary Haag made Fuko's dreamy state more cuter, though.
I'm looking to seeing more of the dub. It's looking good so far. xD

I DON'T WANT TO EXCHANGE!!! It would be a downgrade not an upgrade. The dub for Clannad SUCKS. They totally ruined it!! The voices don't match the characters at all and they pronounce the names all weird!!

Some Lost Melody I DON'T WANT TO EXCHANGE!!! It would be a downgrade not an upgrade. The dub for Clannad SUCKS. They totally ruined it!! The voices don't match the characters at all and they pronounce the names all weird!! Nagisa's dub voice is very close to her Japanese voice, actually. And the names are pronounced correctly as well. You think it's pronounced weird because they're not pronounced with a Japanese accent and they're pronounced slowly, but the pronuncation isn't wrong at all. However, I do often hear Tomoya being pronounced as Tomoyo.
