We've been here a calendar month — a couple days shy of a banker's month — and I figured it'd be a good time to start another tradition: the State of the Guild Address.
Originally founded and run by Perfectly Wicked, she passed ownership of the guild to Miss Sing No who in turn elected Fecal Contamination as vice captain. Roles are now reversed and Fecal Contamination is now the captain and Miss Sing No is the vice captain.
The guild seems to be doing well, with what appears to be a core of about twenty (maybe a little more) people actively involved in the forums or in meet-ups or both. I would like to see this number increase, but I'm sure that will occur throughout spring and summer as the weather improves and free time becomes available — and as people feel comfortable, have fun, and get the word out.
However, I've decided the time has come to make this a closed guild, meaning that applicants must apply to enroll. I will need to discuss the details of this with Nicole (Miss Sing No), but my plan is to get rid of the dead weight and curtail their accumulation in the future. I don't take kindly to Floridans crashing the forum threads or people in Clatskanie padding a member list without once saying anything in the forums or attending a meet-up.
We're also going to have a couple guild banners soon, thanks to the banner contest, which I encourage everyone who has the time and the means to submit entries to. I'm also going to be talking with Nicole about setting up a regular guild lotto and a Captcha Mad Lib contest once we accrue sufficient start-up funds and work the economics of it out.
And, of course, there will always be efforts to make future meet-ups that are accessible and enjoyable and that there's something for everyone.
- We have 106 members.
The guild coffers contain 64,966 g.
The guild mule has 13,064 g.
We've had a total of 4 meet-ups, 2 of which can be deemed successful.
0 members have been warned or banned.
