Well this is spawned from my recent....activity in the city I have lived in for 10 years gonk

So lets START with a small hotel peek

middle class Yet classy is the Drury inn.
(Located in across the country)

The first thing you are greeted by when you walk in is a large lobby with marble floors and with the front desk on one side and a "lounge" on the other with a TV & a fireplace.
A great place to just unwind with a few friends outside of the rooms.
The offer a full Breakfast and dinner kick-back from 7-10am/5:30-7pm
A decent selection of food from salads & baked potato's - hot dogs & chicken(menu changes on the weekend) of dinner and for breakfast they offer
a Quicky of muffins, donuts, bagels,etc. or a REAL breakfast of Fresh waffles, eggs, Biscuits/gravy, Sausage and even french toast.

The rooms are decently sized with the suits having a large bathroom, and bedroom in the "front" of the room with a window. a hallway with a bar/sink and a decent sized main room with a desk, TV, Sofa-bed & Recliner...A big plus on the rooms is they are always clean.

The employees are very friendly..Very welcoming.
Yet the Maids are a little hit-miss at their job.
(Cheap Mexican labor)

They also have a indoor/outdoor pool 4'-5'-4' deep and a large hot tub. with a small exercise room.

Overall the hotel scores: 3 stars from me, due to price-service
~~~~~~~~~~
Also on our list is "Hawthorn Inn & suites"
Spend your time in, in class with their Penthouses without robbing a bank.
These are more like a Condo then a hotel.
Seeing as they are 2-story 800-odd Sq.-Ft. penthouse.
They have a full kitchen table for up-to 5, a large main room with a 38" plasma & DirecTV.
A bedroom/bath off the main room with a locking "frenchdoor"
Off to the side are the stairs going up to the loft which also has its own 38" plasma TV, and a bathroom with a separate Shower/toilet & lavatory.
The rooms are very large and VERY homey. with 3 windows and all the space you feel at home in the rooms.
They also offer a Breakfast, which I'm not sure about....never could get up early enough to eat....
Daily room service is a big plus. for fresh towels everyday.
a Minus(for me) is that they DO allow large dogs up to 100lb.
And they also have a heated outdoor pool & tennis court.
Overall they score: 4 from me. The place is nice, but the upkeep on some one the rooms are a little...iffy
To-do:
The Ohio Museum of Art:
Pretty cool place to visit. not for everyone....Though if you catch a good exhibit GO!
Fun-factor: 2½...Not for kids.
Columbus Zoo:
I have seen this place go from a smaller basic zoo to the massive, ever growing in size and animals zoo/waterpark.
Its really a great time for everyone.
Fun-Factor: 4
Paramount's Kings island:
Exclusive to Cincinnati Ohio.
Really, Really fun anytime for anyone!
With all the ride there is bound to be something for everyone!
Signature roller coasters inculuding:
The Beasty(for kiddies), The Beast(big daddy), and Son of Beast, The Old fashion all wooden roller coaster that will make the biggest thrill seeker scream!
Special Events are always a joy. and even in the cold and rain its FUN!
Fun-Factor:5
Nationwide/Arena district.
Check out a Blue jackets game or just have a walk downtown.
Its GREAT, Something to see/do on every corner.
from the bars, Restaurants and everything else.
Community Festival-Comfest:
The Local "4/20" party.
They have live bands playing all weekend, lots of little "shops" set up selling goods ranging from bongs, one hitters, bowls, "hemp", Hemp goods(the legal things).
Its actually pretty fun just to walk around Good-dale park downtown.....Oh BTW, Keep the kiddies at home.
Reasons: The strong smell of weed in the shaded/grassy areas, and all the topless women you can ever wish to see in one place other then a nude beach... But yes the park is patrolled by the local PD...And its perfectly legal for a woman to be topless in ohio.
Fun-Factor: 3½...Not for everyone.
Other fun things to do that I have yet to do..
Cosi, BoMA, Rock & Roll hall of fame, etc.
