I remember from the old games Miltank was very fond of Rollout.
Paralyze the danged thing first or put it to sleep, and I hope your pokemon's levels are high enough!
Oh and uh....get the trade going in Goldenrod for that Machop. You know, a fighting-type pokemon that with a little leveling can beat down the cow?

Yeah that is actually probably one of the hardest parts in the game, if you want to call a part hard.

I beat her on my first try with Flaafy and Feraligatr. But then again, I like to make sure my starter is fully evolved and I have a back-up (Flaafy, in this case, level 25 and Growlithe, level 20) before fighting Whitney for that reason anyways. xD;

I unfortunately didn't have a Machop in the past or future. I guess I'll never learn...lol Trade with the dude in the Goldenrod store on F5. He wants a Drowzee. You'll get a female Machop in return whos gender makes her immune to the Attract factor favored by the Goldenrod Gym.

When you do trade as soon as you can and then use that pokemon first in the Goldenrod Underground place then take it up north on the paths leading up to, and into, the National Park and use her on everyone you possibly can. Because she's traded, she'll grow more quickly, so it is less aggravating. (Might not be a good idea for tournament pokemon but she'll beat the cow anyways.)
