Frustrated by the odd dreams that have been haunting her, of being so close to killing him, and yet being held back, Fenril was looking to cause some pain. She felt the air for the undercurrents of emotions she craved. Fear, hatred, loneliness. Any of them would do, but they had to be deep, not surface emotions. The fear of one startled tasted bland. No, a deep seated fear. For the welfare of the self, or of another, it mattered not. Catching a whiff she teleported to the spot. Appearing silently in a tree, concealed, she considered her options. So much potential here. She could play with this one, drag it out, make herself a new puppet. It would cure some of her own loneliness. Thinking of her pain brought his face to her mind and she had no stomach for patient games. If she could not hurt him, then this innocent, one of those he lived to protect then she, she would suffer in his place. An evil grin twisted her lips upwards, her eyes glowed as she raised her hand.
The water then would start to feel off. The Demon seed was in place. Such a simple thing. Fenril hid herself better to watch as she hatched it, letting it absorb the leafe (life energy) of the water as it grew. All too soon it would drain dry this little female as well. Perhaps she'd make a gift of the husk to the Knight of hot air! Let his hero complex handle that!

Zaraya's heart skipped a beat and she felt the pull of the energy of the water. Something was wrong. She bowed her head and prayed to the heavens for victory, then drew her knife and swam to the surface. Surely the source of this assault would be found there.

The seed hatched, and pulled itself up along side her, a tentacle snaking out to connect to the nearest tree. The thing pulled itself partially out of the water, looking huge and monstrous. Out of a spiral rounded shell came a million long smooth, almost see through appendages. On one side of the shell was what looked like an eye. Three of the appendages sped their way towards her.

Zaraya took her knife and swam toward the tentacles, streaking toward the eye. She used her tail as a weapon also, the pointy fins sharp enough to splice through flesh when she needed them to be.

Her attacks would bonce off the creature. A tentacle arched towards her...
and then bounced off some sort of invisible shield Naru swam towards er from under the water, pale as he stared at the monster. "This again..." he gasped as an appendage smashed at his shield.

Zaraya eyed the newcomer warily, splicing out at the tentacles once again. "Stay back!"

"I got attacked by one of these earlier," he said, panting a bit as he showed her a slash across his flank. "Can't stop them, but if you balk them enough the last one went away eventually.

She nodded, "What in the name of Poseidon is that thing?"

He shook his head. "Don't know." Closing his eyes he focused, wings spreading to help keep him afloat. After a moment he sagged. "That is as far as the shields will go."

Zaraya dove under him, coming up underneath to help hold him up, knife still at the ready, "You hurt me, and I'll kill you just as quickly as I would that thing out there."

He nodded weakly. "On my honor, I'd never knowingly harm some one who was trying to aid me. You have my thanks." A shudder ran through him. "Now, we wait."

"Don't thank me yet. We could still both die." She looked back at his flank and closed her eyes, letting her hoof become warm and light as it touched the gash, healing it.

"Being willing to help another is well worth tha..." he gasped, feeling her healing his side. He took a deep breath, relieved. "Oh thank the seas. Thank you."
