Note: This is what I have so far in my story. Tell me what you think.
Narrator: Kari
"Sean?" I stepped inside the classroom and flipped the switch to lighten the room. Everything was in there natural place. Maybe he came in early before me and decided to just do it all on his own.
I went over to my desk and took a seat. It was quiet in the room. So quiet, it was wierd. Ever since I met Sean my life hasn't been so lonely lately. Every now and then Sean and I have been seeing one another all the time. The only time we rarely see each other is when the day ends and the next day starts. I was starting to think we were actually becoming really close friends. I never felt like this before in my whole life. I bet that's how Sean felt, too.
I buried my head in my arms and rested them on the desk. When thinking about that, I couldn't help but think about the other thing. The thing about me being a witch. The worst part about it was that I had to keep it a secret from Sean. We were friends now and I can't keep it hidden. But there's no other option unless I don't want him as my friend anymore. This was starting to get difficult.
And it would continue to if those Carlinon witches wouldn't show up everytime trying to kill me. I was getting tired of leaving Sean with an excuse to go and use my powers against them. Thanks goodness he would never complain about it. But when I tell him that I have to leave I always see that same look on his face. It always looked like he was glad I was leaving him. Was he? Like always, everything was getting confusing.
"Kari?" I felt someone touch my shoulder. I lifted my head up to see Sean standing next to my seat. "Sorry."
"No, no, it's okay." I said sitting up straight in my seat. "So, where were you?"
"Downstairs getting a drink from the fountain." He said leaning against his desk with his hands in his pockets. He always seemed to be som calm and relaxed with everything.
"I guess I came a bit late?"
"No, I came a bit early. I decided to get all the work done."
"Why?"
"So we can talk."
I stopped and thought about what he said. He did all of this? He volunteered that we should be the ones who set up class every morning for the whole month? He woke up early to do it all instead? He just wanted to talk? He could've just walked home with me and then talked. But, it was Sean so there was no point in arguing with him.
"About what?"
Sean grabbed my hand and led me out the classroom and into the hall. He dragged me down the stairs and out to the schoolyard. His grip was so tight that I couldn't escape. It's not like I wanted to but, you know. He walked over to our usual spot and then let go of my hand when we were in the shade.
"We could've just talked in the classroom. School doesn't start for another few-"
"Just shut up and listen!" He ordered.
I got startled from his tone but I kept my lips shut.
Sean started walking back and forth. It looked like he was thinking. He then stopped and faced me. "Okay, remember when there would be like an earthquake or a fire or any other incident that would usually happen at this school?"
"Yes." But really, those were the witches who were trying to attack me when I was in the building.
"And you remember how you would always leave me when that happened?"
"Yes." I knew what was coming soon.
"Well, when you left I was actually..." Sean took in a deep breath. I think he wasn't trying to hurt me. I was his friend. I would understand whatever he said. "...glad that you left."
My eyes widened a bit. He was glad? So, he didn't want me around?
Sean walked up to me. "I didn't mean it in a bad way. I mean that, well..."
He was searching for words. I could tell. I tried to keep calm so my powers wouldn't come to effect. "I don't know how to explain this to you."
"Sean, take a deep breath. Calm down and then tell me."
"I don't think I can." Sean said.
"Look, I'm your friend. I'll understand whatever you tell me. So don't worry."
Sean then took a few steps away from me. He was shaking his head.
"No, you should worry. And I don't think you'll understand."
I crossed my arms. "Try me."
Sean stood there for a while. He looked around to make sure something or someone wasn't around. He then took in a deep breath. "The reason why I was glad you left was because it wasn't nature who caused the incidents. It was a witch."
My mouth just opened and my eyes widened. Sean knew about the witches?
That's what I'll leave here. There are other stuff but I didn't want to put anymore to spoil it. If you have any questions feel free to ask. It's just a part from a chapter in the story.
