"I'll go see who it is!" China volunteered. Walking towards the Mansion door, she wondered why someone would ring the doorbell. The knocker was much louder. She opened the door, saying ,"Hello, who--" she stopped when she saw a long shadow over her. "Uh...hi?" China squeaked.

The younger man coughed before he spoke. "Are you some guy named Scott?" he mumbled. It was plain he wasn't quite comfortable here. Scott smiled slightly at China; he knew, given time, she could be strong both as an X-Men team member and a person. "That would be me," he said to the male mail carrier, who pushed a package at him that was about the size of a shoe box and wrapped in plain brown paper. No return signature adorned it at all.

China waved good-bye to the mail carrier, then closed the door. "It has no return address," she commented.

"That's what bothers me; something doesn't feel right about this," he said quietly. He tore one end off and tilted it slightly. His sense of wrongness increased when a communicator he recognized plainly as Bobby's slid out. "Bobby-boy is in a hot situation, kids. You should find him before he melts. Water, water everywhere but not a drop to drink. Ships come and go but never prosper," he read out loud. "That sounds like something the Joker would send, but... somehow it doesn't seem right," he said softly.

Scott tilted his head to one side thoughtfully. "Possible; Somehow I get the feeling it had to be John, most likely. Pyro's always disliked Bobby ever since he was shown up," he said softly.

Make sure to tell the others that China and I are out; I'll contact you if we need help, Scott said softly, switching out his sunglasses for his visor. He headed out after the girl.

A couple of hours later a car that looked like it was about to fall apart on its wheels reached the driveway. Richard pushed open the door, only to have it fall off completely with a bang. He shook his head with a sigh and went around, carefully picking up Elaise as gently as possible; she'd woken a couple of times, but not for long. He walked quickly for the door of the mansion. Jean... if you can hear me, that jackass tried to kidnap Elaise again, though I got him in a full nelson as he managed to teleport away, then ran him off not half a dozen blocks where Magneto was, he thought. He knew Jean would know which 'jackass' he meant.

Richard sighed as he headed for the infirmary, unaware he had scrapes on his palms and forearms from practically leaping up the side of the building.
