I don't know why this has been bugging me, but hopefully someone can answer it, because i have not been able to figure it out...
From Los Angeles or New York, what is the best time of day to leave for Asian travel, so you are not sooo jet-lagged? Or do you just take lots of drugs the first couple of day? I am half joking about the second question.

I would get a flight that would be in the evening there, then stay up all night before your flight and sleep on the plane so that when you get there in the morning you are awake.
That's just what I'd do... then again I'm on a third shift schedule anyway operating my system on the asian clock anyway.

I have to disagree with Ichigo... I've been there twice, and the best thing to do IMHO is to arrive at night, like about 8:00PM or so. I can sleep on the plane, but not well, and it doesn't help me feel awake when I get there. The two times that I've gone, I was so exhausted it was physically painful when I got there. But then after a good night's sleep in the hotel / at my host family's house, I was good to go! I got up pretty early in the morning, which was also amazing because I am not normally a morning person, so it's wonderful being a morning person for the first few days.
Hope that helps. =) I've learned that if I ever go anywhere far away by plane, I want to arrive there at night so I can go right to bed, lol.
