The year is 2753. Humans have officially conquered the galaxy, and their reach spreads throughout. Few planets are left un-touched, but now, the entire fleet of the Skylight sector have decided to go even farther: They're traveling to the nearest known galaxy, Andromeda. The ship is prepared, a massive structure that took half the natural resources of the sector. Measuring the size of three small planets, the ship holds the volunteers of the Skylight fleet, along with more, a total of around three thousand. Everyone aboard (Minus the management crew, pilot families, and agriculture scientists) was put into Cryo-sleep, and the computer was set to wake them up when they reached the first planet in Andromeda. The ship reaches a suitable planet, but four hundred years early. The ship automatically ejects all three thousand passengers onto the planet. 83% die on contact, leaving roughly 500 left, most of which are scientists. The scientists promptly name the planet 'Obscurum', latin for "Darkness", because of the lack of stars surrounding this planet. They succeed in creating a small city, and, being scientists, decide to... enhance evolution, via genetic re-coding.
The first major breakthrough, a test subject number 11012, (Previously the captain's son, Timmy) has terraforming capabilities. With the ability to create life, this creature made himself the ruler of the planet, wiping out most of the scientists and sending the others into hiding. The remaining scientists found shelter below-ground, where the inhabitants of the planet were discovered to live. After an unsteady treaty was made between the two species, the scientists quickly set up a lab, attempting to create a weapon to combat the threat on the surface.
The test subjects, now unnumbered, are a wide array of experiments, from combining the DNA of humans and the inhabitants, who have total control over their own cellular structure, to pumping radio frequencies that are similar to brainwaves into children's brains, just to see the effect. The human's motto now is 'desperate times call for desperate measures', as the armies test subject 11012 (now naming himself The Shadow) created are advancing on them.
This is where you come in. (See next post for character regulations)

Species: Human
Species Abilities: Physically strong, although it can vary between individuals. Very capable inventors, given time can quickly make things. (Individual Abilities will go in your character post)
Species Info: You know humans, but these guys are a bit tougher than you might remember. They succeeded in spreading out their central nervous systems, making them harder to kill.
Picture: Is it really necessary? (think regular person, maybe a bit bigger and stronger)

Species: Shade
Species Abilities: Complete control over genetic structure. Can change shape, dissipate at will, and change density, becoming rock hard or intangible.
Species Info: Because of the genetic instability of the Shades, they have no true form. They can take whatever form they wish, and can reproduce with any other Shade. They have no gender.
Picture: Like a gray cloud of mist, if it hasn't taken a form.

Species: Test Subject; Halfling
Species Abilities: Moderate control over genetic structure. Cannot dissipate at will, or become intangible for too long. Can change shape, however, and become more solid, effectively making themselves a weapon.
Species Info:True form is much like a human, but smaller, and color may vary. The choice to make a change permanent is just as easily fixed, but any change will remain until decided otherwise by the Halfling.Accepted by both humans and Shades, but incredibly despised by Creations.
Description: Slightly smaller than a regular human, ability to temporarily or permanently change shape.

Species: Creation Species Ability: Extreme strength, agility, and speed. Long and sharp claws and teeth, mixed with incredible ferocity and very high aggression, makes these creatures perfect predators. Species Info: Created by Timmy, or, "The Shadow", to destroy humans. Made from humans, The Shadow simply did exactly what the human scientists were trying to do: He sped up evolution at an alarming rate. But, in the process, destroyed these thing's capability for mental capacity or intellect. Along the line somewhere, the Creations stopped being anything resembling humans, and now look much more insect-like. Picture:

Name: Cyrax Species: Shade Individual Abilities: Can read minds, and take form of host's worst fear; feeds on emotions Preferred Weapon: A bladed staff he forms from himself. Bio: Cyrax was named for his father, the most powerful Shade in the Core. His father is the one who broke the language barrier between humans, allowing the peace treaty. His mother is the Queen Shade, and controls most other Shades. Other than him, of course. Cyrax has a bad authority problem, and hates anyone who thinks themselves superior to him. Trying to prove a point to his over-protective parents, he allies himself with the human armies, and prepares for battle with The Shadow and his Creations. Yea, but i think that can be forgiven taking that the circumstances are different at what the cause is. Taking that he was genetic experimentation while Demon of chaos was created through sheer emotional trauma and lineage from what i remember, and in this case its not taken hold within the dream world.

Name: Daedrith Varpial Species: Shade Individual Abilities: Control of Wind Preferred Weapon: Any Sword Bio: Daedrith doesnt even know he's a shade. He's never teleported, that he can remember, and always looks like a halfling. Creations dont mind him and it makes him figure he has a way with animals. When Daedrith was a young shade, another shade, one with authority problems, showed him his fears. Turns out Daedrith's fear was being what he was born to be. A Shade. Ever since the shade only showed him his general face and body, at the time, Daedrith's mind re-wrote itself, making him believe he was a halfling and could only do as much as halflings do. Being this way has made him a generally kind-hearted shade for the most part. Picture: My Character's form is generally my avatar at any given time.
