I've decided that I'm going to do the following to ensure that ******** never recurs:
Ensure that no meet-up rendez-vous are in crowded locations Include a Google Maps link in the post detailing the time and place of the meet-up Give my cell phone number out to members so they can call for directions or if they're running late. Always wear my hat.
I thought about it, and that phone tree idea sounds a bit unwieldy and even unlikely, since some people won't have cell phones and still others may not wish to give their numbers out. And, well, seriously, a flag? I'm so not doing that, mainly because I won't want to carry the damn thing around all day.
Anyway, I'm really sorry that meet-up went so horribly awry! But, I suppose this is a learning process. If you have any other suggestions, feel free to mention them.

maybe something like we all wear something green on our heads... as an example.
Maybe have us all meet at a easily accessible park and ride max station?? Like the one on 122nd and burnside??

I think that everyone should meet at a nearby landmark. That would be perfectly fine, IMO. I wouldn't walk around downtown looking like a moron just to meet up with people.
And I live on the opposite side of the river, so 122nd and Burnside is not accessible for me. Downtown is a perfectly fine meeting place, you just need to figure out somewhere to meet.
