(Title was jsut to grab attention)
Ok, so it's been on my heart to preach a sermon to the youth of my church for some time. I know that the youth pastor would be all for having a student preach and I want to leave them with something to think about. When I went to Georgia to visit my frandparents, the message at het church up there during hte "contemporary service" was that anyone can preach. That pushed on me even more and I feel that God is calling me. I'm not a really an in front of people type person. I mean, I play out front in the band and talking for a moment into the mic to get the crowd into the next song or to lead a prayer group, but giving a full message is way out of my comfort zone which I think is good.
I feel that the subject should be how it will cost everything and I want to play that video that Spike linked (it can be found in the media links thread) and then give the message after that.
I'm asking for help in finding information and resources that I could use for the message. This would kinda be my "parting gift" for my youth group and I want it to be good (hence, I ask you guys xp ). Also, i kinda want to have a few people from the group (random volunteers) participate in some sort of demonstration to emphasize the point but I don't know what I could do. Let the brainstorming begin!!!

It's hard.
You didn't ask, but have some advice anyway: Don't be too short, and don't repeat yourself. Two things I learned the hard way... along with 'don't be too quiet', but you have a mic so that shouldn't be a problem. xD
As for the brainstorming, that just depends what message you want to get accross. I can't think of anything off the top of my head, but I'll see if I think of anything. (:

Well, I want to convey the simple fact thatit will cost you everything. That you shouldn't hold anything back, that your life should show Christ. Maybe an example of the disciples and what it cost them?

Well, I just watched the video. I, for one, think that would be a great message. Something today's youth needs to hear. Disciples would deff be a good example.
...and thats pretty much all I have to say at the moment. But if I think of any brainstormy-ish (is that even a word...eh, probably not) ideas I'll post. ^.^
