A low snore could be heard from the canopy of bushes and tall grass. A breeze carried the fresh scent of spring. Cane lay in the tall grass sleeping. He had been on the run for about two weeks now trying to evade his persistent hunters. It seemed for every time he had given them the slip they managed to surprise him by finding him again with their bloodhounds.

Cane was a stealthy and matured wolf. His black fur provided perfect camouflage in the dark forest. It seemed ever since his pack and family were slaughtered he had always been on the run. He had experienced and learned a good deal on his own, but now he was part of a pack once more. And this time around he was persistently protective of it.

For now he continued sleeping exhausted from running and enjoying the moment of peace. However it is only a matter of time before the hunters hunt him again.

His ears twitched back and forth, something was lurking around and making noise, but he was still to groggy to even bother opening his eyes. As the noises continued his eyes slowly cracked open, what if it was the hunters had returned. As his senses returned to him and his sleepiness left, he soon realized this was no hunter, but a wolf. Cane's nose wiggled as he sniffed the air recognizing Sapphire's sent.


Excited the alpha male leaped up and ran towards the area he had last herd a sound from. It didn't take long till he spotted her in a clearing with a kill. Smiling he crouched down in the grass and sprung out tackling her playfully.

The sounds of alarms and gunshots filled the surrounding area, as the nearby prison went up to full alert. Shouting of the Inmates and guards could identify it as a riot, appart from the explosion that shook the ground as one of the walls surrounding collapsed and two individuals ran out of the hole created.

One of the individuals, identified as male, looked like more wolf than man, a lycan, mix of the speices, and was acompanied by a human female. As soon as they were clear of the prison complex, the male bit the female, and her scream was loud and sharp as she passed out, bleeding on the grass as the male ran off leaving her for dead...

Sapphire rolled her golden-colored eyes. "I caught you breakfast? This is mine but I'll be happy to catch you your own since you are appearently incapible to... you seem to be too busy 'resting your eyes'." She said with a smirk. Sapphire flicked Cane's nose with her paw and trotted over to a tree where she procceeded to climb it, swiftly using her tail to swing from branch to branch to help.

Cane chuckled watching her climb the tree, " Nothing wrong with a short nap." His black ear twitched hearing something in the bush, in a sneaking sort of way. Cautiously He looked through the tall grass seeing a hint of red. The alpha's nose wiggled sniffing the air again.

"Seems we have a little visitor," he said softly showing he was no threat, realizing it was a young wolf. Even though his massive size, Cane was a very passive and clam wolf.

Cane's nostrils flared as a fresh scent of blood reached his nostrils. "Sapphire let the pup snag a bite," he smiled before becoming serious, " I'll won't be long."

His attention turned to the strong scent of blood coming from the outskirts of the woods. There was nothing wolf about this scent, but there was something familiar about it. The black wolf crouched and crept closer every so silently, wanting to investigate this smell. He may have had a friendly, passive nature, but when it came to protecting others he was almost an entirely different wolf.

'A human?' he thought now letting out a low growl as he approached. She was bleeding heavily and badly hurt. His ears lowered and his defensive growl subsided. However, Cane didn't let his guard down, "a human this far out..?" he questioned talking to himself.


(Don't worry to much about the spelling, no one is prefect...I'm sure I have mistakes to)

Once the alpha noticed her she had walked out of the bush and looked around. She had noticed the blood sent too but didn't know what it was so she didn't bother with it. Looking up to Sapphire she smiled. "Thh..thank you," said the pup before she started pulling at the rabbit meat and eating what she could.

Once she was full and could eat no more she licked her maw to clean it of the blood that blended in with her fur. Getting up from the spot she looked to Sapphire gratefully and decided to find out where the alpha went and fallowed his sent.
