Dalziel crossed his arms as he glanced about the dusty roads of Blood Ridge. " You don't find it at least mildly dangerous that we're doing this amongst the ruins here?", he'd ask," If you wind up with a building falling on you, don't blame me...This was your idea."

The archangel would smirk soon after before holding a rather old looking spell book out, and away from his body. " Let us fight togeather, Remiel.", Dal would mutter softly to the book before it would suddenly spout wings, and move to fly around him twice before situating it's self just above his right shoulder.

"Melee versus magic...Remember...This was your idea.", he'd say as he stuffed his hands into his pockets, and waited for his friend's first move.

Eiriks, ever confident, would simply smirk and shrug.

"Come now, Dally, you know fine well if a building fell on me, it'd come off worst."

He was clad, as ever, in the torn remnants of many cloaks, making up a kind of makeshift robe. From within these cloaks, he drew a longsword, runes carved along its dark blade. A grin split his smirk, and he flicked the sword out, standing straight, and side on to his friend.

"Now, Dalziel, please try not to be too pissed off when you're looking up at me from the floor, 'kay?"

He would launch himself forward then, a few black feathers falling from within the confines of his cloaks, and flick out his sword again in a lightning quick slash, aimed for the right side of Dalziel's chest.

"Looking up at whom? I've never heard of a man falling upwards." Dalziel replied as he watched him close the distance between them.

Just as his blade was about to come with-in meter of him he'd quickly side step to the left so that the blade would narrowly pass him by. When Eiriks' sword arm extended further beyond him he'd move to take hold of his right wrist.

Dalziel with graceful movements would then swiftly remove his left hand from his pocket while bending forward slightly. With lightning fast speed his left hand would quickly move for Eiriks' face.

Eiriks already knew what was going to happen it Dal managed to get in close enough to lock his vice grip around his face.

"That's unlike you, Eiriks. To do something so predictable." Dal would speak while his eyes began to glow.

His eyes would widen as Dalziel's hand closed around his face. He'd reach up with his own free hand to grip Dalziel's wrist, trying to pry it from his face.

"Dally! Now Dally wait a sec that's ch-!"

"Expello."

Dalziel's voice would boom despite it's low mutter. Suddenly the spell book would float above his head and burst open with holy light that enhanced the holy magics that coursed through his being. His blue strands flailed about in the rushing winds that would seem to move quickly to the space between Eirik's face, and his palm. Finally his entire form would begin to take on a golden glow that would grow fierce by the second before finally it was as if his entire hand were engulfed by a gigantic orb of pulsating heavenly energies.

The rushing winds would grow even more powerful before finally a powerful ripple rushed from his palm that caused the air to quiver before finally Eiriks would be shot backwards from an explosion of great purifying energies that would erupt against his face with the force of a miniature C4 bomb.

If the explosion connected---and surely it would at this range, Eiriks' head would rip away from the clutch of Dalziel's fingers, and his body would be washed backwards in a torrent of the golden purifying energies that would threaten to eat way at his very being---Eiriks was certainly lucky that he was an angel.

Standing casually with his left hand returning to his pocket Dalziel would keep his steaming right hand forward.

"Hence why it is foolish to perform a frontal attack without a plan.", he'd say with a small smirk.

He'd then swing his wrist to his side---still held out from his body as if he where preparing for another spell.

"Remiel, page 345. Verse five."
PostPosted: Fri Mar 05, 2010 10:46 am

His final word was lost within Dalziel's. As the blast hit him, he was launched backwards, twisting through the air, a cry escaping his parted lips. It did not matter how strong he was, how much power he possessed, an Expello at that range would ALWAYS hurt.

Eiriks' spiraling body completed five full backflips before it collided with the wall behind him, shattering its stone. Even that didn't stop him. He hit the floor and rolled, before finally coming to a stop a good forty feet away from Dalziel.

He lay still for a few moments, before muttering quietly.

"...ow..."

He forced himself onto his feet, and scowled at Dalziel.

"Hey Dally! That was NOT fair!"

"It was plenty fair. You're the one who ran at me like a fool." Dalziel reply with a grin before unleashing his wings and rushing forward. He'd then pull his right hand back to cross over his face as his wings flapped once to take him off of the ground. His body would then, at a low glide, tear forward---flapping every now and then to increase speed---directly at Eiriks while he was recovering.

The spell book would rush by his side, flying nearly under his drawn back left arm.

As Eirik's image came closer, and closer he'd swipe his right arm forward while being sure to keep at least five feet away from the range of his sword. His hand would slice through the air while he spoke out his next spell.

"Lasero!"

Instantly the air would begin to displace into an arc of force that would spin towards him like a boomerang, it's length would increase the longer it would take to hit him...It wasn't a powerful spell, but it's cutting force would be enough to make it worth his time to worry about if he didn't block.

"You're a war hero! Stop whining!"
PostPosted: Fri Mar 05, 2010 10:59 am

Eiriks would set his face in determination, staring down Dalziel as he rushed towards him. He'd seen his friend fight, knew how he worked, and knew his spells by heart. Thus, he knew fine well he did NOT want this one to impact.

"Tch... fine. If it's wings you want..." He took a hold of the collar of his cloaks, the one point that held them all together "then it's wings you will get"

Tearing off his cloaks, he spread his massive wings wide, sending feathers in all directions. His expression became a glare, and he flapped once. The force of this one move was huge, launching him into the air, avoiding the attack easily. He looked down at Dalziel, his smile returning, yet slightly sad.

"It would appear we've heightened the stakes slightly, mmmh?"

"Things haven't changed at all." Dalziel replied while flying directly under him and performing a barrel roll in mid air. His right hand swiftly aiming his palm upwards while glowing holy light once again took on the air around him. Balls of concentrated holy energy would appear without delay before firing upwards in the form of torrents of holy energy arrows.

"Impello!"

His book released a glowing ring that swiftly grew large and flew around him before shrinking again and floating above his palm. He'd use this ring to keep Eiriks 'locked on' so that the arrows would home in on him as long as Dalziel had him inside of the ring on his sights.

Another fairly weak spell...What was Dalziel doing?

"It'd be dishonorable to even train with you any other way." He'd say with a smile coming to his own lips.

Eiriks would smirk, folding his arms as the blasts flew towards him. He'd twist and turn his body at the last moment, avoiding the blasts. He'd glance over his shoulder as they turned and came back at him.

"Dally, Dally, Dally... cheap tricks? You can do-" he'd burst upwards then, dodging the blasts again, "- so much better than this!"

His blade, which had been floating next to him, moved around in front of him, and he gripped it in his right hand. Holding it out, the tip pointed to Dalziel, he muttered a few words under his breath. Black and white feathers began to swirl around the length of the weapon. Eiriks would smirk, and murmuring something else, causing the feathers to soar forth at Dalziel, like knives in the wind.

Dalziel pumped his wings once to allow his body to rush 'upward' (Since his back was to the ground in his flight) so that he'd slide out of the course of these feathers if they came at him like a streaming attack. He'd then throw his feet backward while spreading his wings so that he could slow his backwards swing in the air.

Wasting no time he'd lean left and quickly flew away into a ruined but gigantic hallway, since the author assumes they're in a building, incase the feathers where able to home in on him. He'd hold out two fingers while mummbling a spell under his breath. His spell book quickly tailed after him with surprisingly agility while giving an odd glow.

"Of course I can." Dalziel said casually--though moreso under his breath," You however know my every spell...so I must use tactic to defeat you."

He tilted his head, shouldering his sword and laughing quietly.

"Fair point, Dally. I guess I have something of an advantage. Y'see I've learned a few new tricks while I've been away."

He slashed out with his sword again, feathers following the path of the blade and slicing through the wall between them. As the barrier fell away, he smirked, and waved with his free hand.

"Hey there, Dally! I was... just looking for you. There's a difference between hiding like a mommy's boy, and using tactics. So which one are you doing, really?"

He began to laugh again, but it was cut short as one of Dalziel's previous blasts nailed him in the side of the head, causing him to stagger slightly in the air. He glared at Dalziel, but after a moment, chuckled.

"Yeah yeah, alright." He'd then imitate Dalziel's voice, "Don't get cocky, lest you let down your guard."

Considering the length of the hallway Dalziel had entered taking out a piece of the wall wasn't really a means to intimidate even a little. However out of mere amusement the archangel watched the war hero as he ran his mouth---and quickly found himself stricken in the process. The Archangel couldn't help but chuckle himself---as in this moment of distraction he'd allow Remiel to fly around Eiriks the second his eyes were focused on him.

The spell book probably wouldn't have any trouble flying around him without being noticed---and if he was successful it'd allow him the simple chance to lift his hand directly at Eiriks with a simple smile.

"Magnus Impello.", he'd state casually...But to Eirik's perception the spell would appear as if it had failed...as even though Dalziel aimed his hand at the angel nothing came rushing at him like the last spells.

That is...Until holy light glow brightly almost three feet behind him and caused thousands of small orbs of holy light to form along side a singular gigantic cross shaped arrow that floated in wait to strike him. Dalziel naturally flew upwards toward the ceiling before causing it to fire off in his direction. The smaller ones moving like they had been shot out of a chain gun...The bigger more so like a howitzer.

"Just whom is running like a...'mommy's boy' as you call it?"

Eiriks raised an eyebrow, his smile disappearing completely as the flood of attacks rushed towards him. He stared at the magical blasts, before sighing, and folding his wings in front of him. The lighter blasts hit him, forcing him back. Glancing out of a gap between his darkened feathers, he locked his eyes on the larger blast, and a faint grin touched his lips.

Bracing his body, he shifted his weight back, pointing his right wing towards the attack. In the instant it was about to connect, Eiriks half-roared, half-laughed and flung out his wing, using it to deflect the attack. A sudden blast shook the room, and a blinding light exploded forth.

As it cleared, Eiriks could be seen, standing at the end of the corrider. He shook out his wings, and rolled his shoulders, before opening his eyes and locking his glare again on Dalziel.

"Dally. That was... unpleasant. I think I'll start fighting back for real now, huh?"

he crouched then, bracing for a moment before launching himself forward with a beat of his wings. The walls, floor, ceiling all ripped and shattered under his force as he fired himself down the corridor towards Dalziel. Another beat of his wings cast him upwards, destroying the floor under him. He ended up facing Dalziel, only about three feet away, his usual grin returned.

He flicked out his sword, a quick slash aimed to cut long and deep through Dalziel's chest.

Lost_Avalon
Eiriks raised an eyebrow, his smile disappearing completely as the flood of attacks rushed towards him. He stared at the magical blasts, before sighing, and folding his wings in front of him. The lighter blasts hit him, forcing him back. Glancing out of a gap between his darkened feathers, he locked his eyes on the larger blast, and a faint grin touched his lips.

Smiling himself he'd turn in mid air while he was shooting upwards to avoid his own attack. He'd fly back down the hall to put him in place while muttering a particularly long spell under his breath. It was about then that as he flew a pale blue glow would come about his image. He'd land swiftly in a kneel with Remiel following quickly and giving off a strange pale blue flaming glow of it's own.

By then he'd be turning to see Eirik's reaction---which was as expected. In the end he only wanted some real range between the angel and himself so that he could properly prepare a real spell. He'd from then on take on a serious look in his eyes. While there was still a playful glow in his suddenly cold stare--his expression was still entirely showing his focus to be as solid as his resolve when fighting a demon.

Lost_Avalon
Bracing his body, he shifted his weight back, pointing his right wing towards the attack. In the instant it was about to connect, Eiriks half-roared, half-laughed and flung out his wing, using it to deflect the attack. A sudden blast shook the room, and a blinding light exploded forth.

Holding his stance as the light would flood over every instance of the corridor he'd lower his head while speaking.

"Remiel...Page 420: Verse Seven...The purifying touch of existences seven times above. That which the holy master commands with just a simple flick of his fingers. The power that allows him to make the mountains toss about like droplets of water..and the fallen dust to sway like angry storm-like torrents merely at the graze of his gentle breath. I call on thee in the name of the Heavenly King...There is no greater master then him whom controls you just with his existence alone; through him I command you to follow my will!" Dalziel would speak low--but his voice would boom and echo subtly in the background of existence. His eyes' gentle glow showing a half trance that showed how seriously he knew he was going to have to take Eiriks now.

Swiftly the air of the room around him would start to move viciously amongst the chaos that Eiriks caused---He'd use that as a cover. By the time Eiriks was done the spell would be complete and Dalziel would be waiting for him.

Lost_Avalon
As it cleared, Eiriks could be seen, standing at the end of the corrider. He shook out his wings, and rolled his shoulders, before opening his eyes and locking his glare again on Dalziel.

"Dally. That was... unpleasant. I think I'll start fighting back for real now, huh?"

He ended up facing Dalziel, only about three feet away, his usual grin returned.

He flicked out his sword, a quick slash aimed to cut long and deep through Dalziel's chest.

Dalziel didn't move...his head was lowered so that his eyes would be hidden by the shade of his blue strands. As Eiriks came closer and closer with his serious attack Dalziel would prepare accordingly. His body would being to take on a strange brown faded tent as if in the chaos he had been covered in a large amount of dust. He'd lift his head slowly the closer Eiriks got---and by the time he'd Eiriks would swing his blade Dalziel was already moving to take a quick singular stride forward so that he could throw his left hand toward the man's incoming blade. His wings beat against the air so that he could cause the air to quickly circulate around him. The air would fill with dust that would seemingly act as if it where alive as it raised into the air.

His hand would be just in time to meet with the blade---but Dalziel would show a fair amount of speed with his hands. His hand would swiftly wave passed the blade before it could be cut to cause a strange burst of glowing dust to rush from his sleeve--seemingly---and practically blast the blade away with a sudden rush of magically induced force. The dust would rush around his blade and seem to freeze in the air as it was nearly scattered by the power of Eirik's blade.

Dalziel's eyes widened slightly but more so in excitement rather then fear...He could almost not help the near smirk that came to his serious expression.

"With the medium of the Earth...I ask you...Articulus Congelo!"

By the time Dalziel's spell would take affect his hand was long safe from the blade---but Eirik's sword had nearly come to the side of his neck. With the dust of the air spread out around his sword as if he had actually intended to cut into a stream of falling sand---Eiriks would find that for a moment he couldn't move his sword--but his strength wouldn't be so easy to quail.

Dalziel knew that.

Quickly taking advantage of the unexpected pause---Dalziel would kneel once and---Provided that Eiriks wouldn't think to respond in other means then his sword--quickly performed a circular dash of his hand against the ground below and in-between them. By now Eirik's blade would tear through the thin time seal that Dalziel had created---Hopefully the full force of his swing returning to him with the possibility of an added extreme due to his attempt to break free would catch Eiriks off guard.

It wasn't really that the blade's or Eirik's time had stopped---It was more like the dust that had spread around his sword had taken a moment to pause their times at the same-time so that he would actually have to force them to recognize the time of their displacement before he could knock the dust out of the air with just the swing of his blade.

Eitherway he wasn't staying knelt in front of Eiriks for too long...He knew he'd get hurt doing that. So drawing back with a single hard kick to the ground he'd slide back and raise his hand.

"With the medium of the Earth I ask you...Araise Blade of Gaia!"

The dust drawn up from his wings back when he had used his his first 'Total Elemental Manipulation' Technique on Eiriks would suddenly spiral in a perfect circle before suddenly a large and a very sharp slab of pure stone would jut out from the earth---cracking the floor horribly with it's own force---Right under the sword wielding angel.

"Let us remove the 'Kid Gloves', then my friend." Dalziel would say with a soft nod.

He could still feel the very small cut from Eiriks' attack forming on the side of his neck--even though he had ducked long before time had acknowledged his swing.

Dalziel knew better then anyone how frightening Eiriks could be.

Now they would be completely serious it seemed.
