L would most probably win since he is the original and it took both near AND mello to succeed him

yes but L
has many faults
near and L i would say are almost exactly the same
they i dough they have any muscles ^_^

L vs Near would be a very good fight...and though I love L and admire his mental strengths, I think Near would win. He may be younger but his preformance in the last volume of Deathnote proves exactly how witty he was. He could very well out wit L.

near would probably win but when near beat light he had L's help because l's work near was able to find out light is kira

Good point...Near also had help from Mello too...he even admitted he might not have caught Light had it not been for Melos sacrifice.
