Basically, you post a what-if question, then the next person answers (the answers are purely speculation - there is no right or wrong answer). After that person answers the previous question, then he/she will post their own what-if question, and so on like that.
You can also answer any question you want.
Plus, it's a good way to see how others think.

No car accident. No Dean almost dying. No Hell gate being opened. You get the drift, however, Dean would never have forgiven him and their relationship would be horribly fractured.
What if Dean had managed to survive all 4 months (40 years) in hell on the rack being tortured, and never got off the table to deliver it himself until Castiel saved him?

Well, there would be no apocalypse, but Dean might have had an even more difficult time recovering from hell, or maybe an easier time, since he wouldn't have had to live with the guilt of torturing all those people. It's tough to say.
What if Michael hadn't erased Mary and John's memories after "The Song Remains the Same"?

No way they would have given up Dean since she was already pregnant, but Sam probably wouldn't have been born. This would of course have stopped Azazeal from poisoning him and the whole psychic thing as well as Mary dying. Clearly, if Mary didn't die, John would not have started his hunting rampage and dragged Dean into it. So when it came time for Michael to ask Dean if he could use him as a Vessel, (or John for that matter) one probably would have said yes, given the extremity for the circumstances.
What if the crossroads demon hadn't let Dean bring Sam back to life?

It would of turned ugly for Dean. Probably would of kept hunting though but would be weak and probably die young. Or would become a drunk sad

But seriously, Dean would have at least keep checking in on the kid and trying to be somewhat of a father (Like John had done for Adam I guess). He seemed pretty disappointed when Ben wasn't his, like he really was looking forward to being a father sad

Then Dean would have to have stayed dead to be with her, and the angels would have come along and popped him back in his body again anyway so he could say "yes" to Micahel.
