So we don't have a thread for quotes, and I'd like to hear the ones you guys like.

The way you need to post them is by author then quote, or by quote then author. If you don't know the author, then you put unknown.

If it's out of a book, or a movie, you can also put that up too. =)

So lets hear what you've got!

This is a fantastic series of Quotes by the legendary Spike Milligan, for those of you who don't know, Spike was the godfather of modern comedy with the highly successful Goon Show in the 1950's which influenced Monty Python, another highly influential comedy team who in turn inspired many modern comedians. Spike died in 2002, an accomplished writer and performer, known for being able to add a zany spin to any story including Frankenstein and Treasure Island, in addition to the large collection of childrens literiture he wrote during his life, a life plagued by Manic Depression but one so fulfilled by bringing joy and happiness to countless millions worldwide. These are just a few quotations but they give you an insight into the kind of humour Spike pioneered, somewhat appropriately the day after the 8th anniversary of his passing. Hopefully these quotes will inspire you to want to learn more about Spike and his works so if any further info is needed please PM me.

"Money can't buy you happiness but it does bring you a more pleasant form of misery."
"It's all in the mind, you know."
"Money couldn't buy friends, but you got a better class of enemy."
"I'm not afraid of dying I just don't want to be there when it happens. "
"All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy. "

So true about money. =o

So I was looking at quotes, cuse I need new ones for my post style, and I found this:

When you're a writer, you no longer see things with the freshness of the normal person. There are always two figures that work inside you, and if you are at all intelligent you realize that you have lost something. But I think there has always been this dichotomy in a real writer. He wants to be terribly human, and he responds emotionally, but at the same time there's this cold observer who cannot cry.
