With this being christmas eve and I was thinking about what might be waiting for me under the tree tomorrow morning. Thinking about it I realized that about 90% of my list was books and I was wondering what books made it onto the lists of my fellow guild members.
I remember that I asked for: High Druid of Shannara: Straken by Terry Brooks Wheel of Time: Knife of Dreams by Robert Jordan Circle of Magic: Sandry's Book by Tamora Peirce (I love the series, even though I'm in college redface )
I know there were others but I can't think of them now. So, IRTIA, what books did you ask for this year?
And if you don't celebrate Christmas I apologize. Just post what books you currently want.

I only asked for one, actually. I don't like putting books on my Christmas list because I'm afraid I'll find one of them for a good price somewhere, buy it, and then have someone yell at me for buying a Christmas present that they already bought me. I did ask for "A House Divided," from my mom, but she already let me know I wouldn't be getting it because she couldn't find it. Well, except on Amazon. But, as I think I've mentioned a few times, my mom's pretty picky about books and doesn't like buying little paperbacks if she can help it. Nonetheless, I'm hoping for maybe a surprise book or two ... biggrin

I asked for...
Countdown to Rapture #2: The Regime Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets The Autobiography of Medgar Evers: A Hero's Life and Legacy Revealed Through His Writings, Letters, and Speeches
As well as a couple Scarlet Pimpernel titles that I can't get through inter-library loan. Although if I don't get them for Christmas, I think I know of a place where I can read the e-texts. Also some books on learning how to speak Japanese or German.
I particularly look forward to seeing if I receive the Evers autobiography. My uncle is coming over later today with presents so I shall know then!

I keep a large list of all the books I want, but I don't ask for them on christmas. I prefer buying my own books because people will invariably buy the wrong one.

I received the following books for Christmas: The Autobiography of Medgar Evers, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, The Encyclopedia of Freemasonery, and Making Out in Japanese - From everyday conversation to the language of love -- a guide to Japanese as it's really spoken.
I suppose I will purchase The Regime myself. wink Although I really wanted it. I have more than enough money to go out and buy it now, but at the moment I wanted to save everything I could so I could go to Ohayocon next weekend.

Well, I got: High Druid of Shannara: Straken, Knife of Dreams, An Acceptable Time, Many Waters, Wizardology, Taylor's Guide to Roses, and Anansi Boys. The only one from my list I didn't get was the Circle of Magic book, and I think that my mom ordered that one online but it never showed up.

I asked for various things:
Chronicles of Narnia-C.S. Lewis
Memoirs of a Geisha-Arthur Golden
Deception Point-Dan Brown
some manga
Gone with the Wind-Margaret Mitchell (as a tribute to my Civil War class, though I've already read it)
And "An Acceptable Time" and other novels by her...don't recall the name...
As they took me shopping, I got most of them, except for the last ones...but I'm planning to get them on my shelf sooner or later...

I didn't ask for any, I prefer buying my own books. Not sure why...
Anyways, I did get A Midsummer's Night Dream by Shakespeare from my friend. I'd mentioned wanting to own it once in a conversation, and she remembered. heart
