Lily slung her back pack over her shoulder and held her very first Pokeball in her hand tightly. A Charmander. She was so happy. It had been just what she wanted!
She had lived her whole life in Viridian city, and now it was time to see the world. She had woken up extra super early that morning so she could make it to Professor Oak's lab to get her very first Pokemon.
She pulled her light brown hair back into a pony tail. She was wearing a baggy t-shirt with a picture of an Eevee on it and a pair of jeans. It was comfortable and good for travel.
She set off, back towards her home town and then towards the forest on her Pokemon Adventure

Zealia was off to a fairly rough start, even by her own standards. Although she'd been in a family that specialized in breeding and raising Pokemon, she'd only received one she could really call her own barely three days ago.
While on an errand to return one of the Pokemon her family had been caring for to the trainer that left it, she had a chance encounter with an Abra. It was a lucky catch for her as she caught it moments before a teleport, and she celebrated that day as her first day as an actual trainer.
However, things proved a little less than lucky for her when she learned its only move at the time was teleport. Zealia couldn't fight to train it, since its only move was designed for running away, and it disheartened her. That is, until she learned about Professor Oak, and the starter Pokemon he gave to aspiring new trainers.
The quickest way to Oak's lab was going to be to go through Mt. Moon, she'd learned. She picked up her Abra's pokeball, thinking if anything she could rely on him to get her out of a tight spot, and made her way there.
Once inside Mt. Moon, her luck turned further south. She had never been through this path, since she didn't have a pokemon of her own, one of her older siblings who had their own pokemon made the trips that required it. Her lack of knowledge caused her to get lost, a lot. Every turn she took seemed like it was a dead end for her.
She shook her last can of repel, only to hear the silence of a lack of contents. The one she'd used last would wear off in mere moments, and that's what worried her the most. She saw the zubats and geodudes, only held back by the scent of the repellent, and with each step she took she grew a little more fearful of the impending attack.
Her fear was subdued by the sight of a dim light towards the end of the tunnel. The quicker walking pace she had to hurry away from the pokemon turned into a relieved run. However, a careless mistake caused her to trip. She could hear angry wingbeats behind her as she skinned her knee on the rough cave floor, and instinctively she threw the pokeball.
"Animus! Teleport!" she called out as the Abra was released from the ball. However, the jerking sensation that came with every teleport experience she'd had didn't come. Rather, the Abra stood defiant, of his trainer's order and of the small flock of zubat that flew towards it. "Teleport! Animus, teleport!" Zealia called out again and again, with no response from the Abra.
A zubat bit down on Animus, the abra unflinching. Zealia winced as she watched, closing her eyes. "Do something!" she shouted, and this Animus responded by opening its eyes. The zubat biting down on him was flung off. A second zubat in the flock, diving in at Animus and Zealia was stopped in its track and flung back as well. The remaining flock seemed to take this as enough of a warning and flew up to the ceiling, making foul little noises at the abra, which sat back down and closed its eyes. Zealia was relieved to see him unhurt, mostly, as she stood unsteadily and got closer to him. A careful application of a potion to the bite wound, and she pulled out her pokeball. "Thank you, Animus, you've done enough, you can keep resting," she said and smiled.
With Animus back in his pokeball, she bandaged up her scraped knee and headed out of the cave.
It'd been two days so far, she spent the night at the Pokemon center in Pewter city, thankful for the uneventful hours that followed her 'escape' from Mt. Moon, and on the third day she arrived at Pallet Town. Her short purple hair was disheveled and messy, the dark blue windbreaker she wore was a little torn and worn out, not designed for the punishment she'd put it through in Mt. Moon. The red t-shirt she wore beneath the jacket took a little less of a beating, and she was thankful the Clefairy pin she wore on the collar had yet to get lost. Her jeans were well torn, with an impromptu patch over the right knee from when she'd tripped.
Still, she gave off a proud air as she made her way to Oak's lab, no longer worried about receiving a proper starter pokemon, but rather finishing her journey and starting a new one as a Pokemon trainer with Oak's approval.
(Jesus christ that's the most I've ever posted in any RP in a long time. @_@)

Lily had decided to spend some time on Route 1, training her her Charmander Ember.
"Come on Ember" She said. "Use scratch!" She called, striking a pose. She felt so cool. Here she was, battling a wild Rattata with her very own Pokemon! Her Charmander nodded dutifully and rushed at the wild competitor, readt to scratch it with all he could.
Instead he tripped over a rock. The Rattata sniggered and took off into the tall grass, disappearing.
"Oh, Ember, are you ok?" Lily asked, kneeling down next to him. "I guess we'll get you to a Pokemon Center." She sighed. "We're almost home anyway." She put Ember back into his pokeball and stood up, seeing Zealia making her way towards Pallet Town.
"Hey!" She said happily, waving. "Hi! Are you a new Trainer too?"

Zealia watched as the Rattata ran off, looking up to Lily as she spoke up.
"Yeah," she said briefly as she approached, smiling a bit. "I've already got a Pokemon, I just thought I'd see Professor Oak to make my start feel a little more.. official." As she explained, she smiled, still excited and eager to get a real start on her journey.
Zealia extended a hand to Lily once she was close enough. "I'm Zealia, by the way. It's nice to meet you!"

Lily took the girls hand and smiled. "I'm Lily! I just got my first pokemon today." She said happily and took out her Pokedex. "See? It's really cool." She pointed back tot he south of her. "Pallet Town is just that way. Are you from around here? I've never seen you before."

Zealia smiled happily, giving Lily's hand a gentle shake. "Congratulations! I only just got my abra a couple days ago," she said with a happy smile. "I'm not from around here at all, actually," she said as she dug her town map from her wigglytuff backpack, opening it up. "I'm from Celadon," she said as she pointed it out on the map. "The trip here was a bit rough, but once I get my pokedex and can officially call myself a trainer, it's going to be worth it!"

Professor Gary Oak Zealia smiled happily, giving Lily's hand a gentle shake. "Congratulations! I only just got my abra a couple days ago," she said with a happy smile. "The trip here was a bit rough, but once I get my pokedex and can officially call myself a trainer, it's going to be worth it!" "Totally." Lily said and smiled. "Hey, I was just headed back to my house to finish packing a few things and saying good bye to my Dad." She said. "Maybe I could wait for you there and we could travel a little way together? It would be nice to have a travel friend." She suggested.

"That sounds great, it'll probably be a lot safer too," she said with a nod. "Hopefully it shouldn't be too long, I don't have to worry about picking out which pokemon I want so that'll cut down on how long it'll take."
She slipped her town map back into her bag and smiled. "I'll hurry up and head down to Professor Oak's place, I'll see you in just a bit!" she said excitedly before dashing south towards Pallet Town and Oak's lab.

"I'll be at the Viridian Pokemon Center!" Lily called after the girl, waving.
She looked down at the Pokeball in her hand. "Two new friends in one day." She said smiling. "This is fantastic." She jogged happily the rest of the way home.
She stopped by her house and finished backing her brown camping backpack with all the things she thought she'd need on her new adventure (Clothes, potions, books, a frying pan, more books), and hugged her father good bye before heading to the Pokemon center to hear Ember to his full strength and wait for her new friend to arrive from Pallet.

The only thing that slowed Zealia down was a slight stumble when she hopped down a short ledge, losing her balance for a moment. It didn't take her long to get to Oak's Lab, and once she'd gotten her Pokedex from him she hurried her way back to Viridian City.
Once back at the entrance, she stopped a moment and thought. She took the town map out of her pack and looked down at Viridian City on it. "Oh, right, it's over... Here!" she said aloud, pointing a little to her right, and heading in the direction. She found the Pokemon Center without any further problem, and went inside.
"Lily?" she asked aloud, looking around a bit, before spotting the girl and waving, digging her Pokedex out of her pocket to eagerly show it off. "I got it~ I'm an official trainer now!"

Lily was sitting on one of the benches by the window, her Charmander sitting next to her, munching on a Pokemon Snack.
As she saw Zealia she clapped happily, Ember mirroring her and clapping at her side. "That's wonderful Zealia!" She said happily. "Did Professor Oak give you a Pokemon too?" She asked, standing up.

Zealia shook her head. "I already have Animus. I can't deprive a trainer to be of a Pokemon when I've already got one," she said with a smile, taking the pokeball off of her belt. "If I want a pokemon now, I'll have to catch it myself!" she said excitedly, beaming with pride.
"Come on out, Animus," she said as she gave the ball a toss, and the abra appeared from the glowing light, standing stoically by Zealia's side. "Lily, I'd like you to meet Animus. Animus, this is Lily." When he was introduced, Animus nodded his head towards Lily in acknowledgment.

"Hello Animus." Lily said happily to the abra. "This is Ember, my Charmander. Ember, say hello to our new friends." She grinned, patting Ember lovingly on top of his head.
Ember walked over to Animus and held out it's paw. "Char." He said and nodded his head a little as a hello.
"Aww! They're going to be best friends, I just know it." Lily giggled.

Animus's eyes opened briefly as Ember extended his paw, before closing them once more in a pleased expression and reaching out with his hand and giving Ember's a shake. "Aaabra."
"Animus seems to get along better than I expected. He's always been so quiet I was worried that he wouldn't get along with other pokemon I meet and catch," Zealia said with a smile, giving Abra a gentle, approving pat.
"Let's see... When I was reading about being a trainer it was explaining how to get to Indigo Plateau to battle the Elite Four. It said you needed eight badges," she murmured, tapping her chin a bit as she thought. "I think there was a gym here, but when I passed going down to Pallet Town it didn't look like it had seen use in years."
