~The world as it's come to be~A long, long time ago man kind stumbled across a secret that broke the barrier of myth and reality. Vampires roamed the land freely and were fully aware of their own being. Wars raged, moral conflict and blood lust driven until it all ended in world control by a group of elite being that no one must ever see or know of. Vampires and humans alike were conditioned to live lives a certain way and be perfectly happy with the way things are. But still you never knew if you were a vampire, a human or an elite being, that is unless you were called upon by the courts. One called before the courts never returned to normal society the same. If they were an elite being, memories of them were erased and everyone was happy as things were. If they were found to be a vampire, when they returned, memories were altered in order to keep good humans away from them and they were watched constantly. If they were human it was just forgotten that they ever were called upon. How do I know all this? Well you see my dear friends, I escaped this 'civilized' world to keep my memories of what and who I am, to have a sense of self. Will you join me in seeking the answers to what lies on the other side of the great walls of the elite towers?
The Elites
The Elites are the 'higher power' on earth. They rule practically as gods of earth even though they may not be of this planet at all! One can never speak poorly of the Elites in public or they will be called upon and may never return. I am fortunate enough to be a great actress and liar when it comes to being questioned. I have been to the towers many times and many times I have made them believe I am not with a resistance or a free thinker as I prefer to call myself. I've met these pompous jerks and they failed to erase my memory. Perhaps it was destiny for me to spread the word to more generations than they intended or maybe sheer luck; in any case, one can tell an Elite in disguise by appearance alone. They has soft fair skin that just begs to be touched, but you mustn't touch for if you do you will fall under their spell. When I say spell I don't mean by black magic, witches and wizards; no, it's completely different from any experience you'll ever have. How do i know this? Why that is quite a personal question to ask! I am not keeping anything you need to know from you, so it doesn't matter! Aside from the skin, they have eyes that shine like crystals in the light and draw you in closer and make you ask questions you never would have thought to escape your own lips. No, no... I can't tell you more about the appearance, you'll know it when you see it! Why some of the elites go incognito I am not completely sure, but I know it can't be good for underground resistance groups, or thinkers like myself. Be wary of their traps my friends, just when you think you have found heaven you find yourself wondering through the depths of Hell!

Conditioning
In order to keep balance among the inhabitants of the earth, the Elites have created something they call Conditioning. This conditioning is to get everyone into a certain way of thinking. The elites believe by practically brainwashing the entire population there can be peace and happiness. I personally work in a Conditioning center and I must say it has been effect for most beings, but some of us are a little more strong willed than to be manipulated into a carbon copy of the person sitting next to us. All Children that are born naturally are taken from the parent as young as possible (or when the child can survive without the mother as a source of nourishment). These are rare cases any more that a woman would actually become pregnant without assistance from the Birthing center just up the street from the Conditioning center of my particular region. All the children a conditioned to have a strong draw to those who are beautiful and fear what is ugly. However, the children are also programmed to not fall to hard in love with any one individual. marriage is still allowed, but for how long I do not know. It seems their have been problems with mixing of breeds due to love and it makes things a great deal harder to control a population with such impurities. I myself am an impurity and so not accepted in either cultural group. What am I? Why that is none of your business really. I was born and raised in the very conditioning center I work in today so with out a doubt I know the flaws of the system. I wish to make these flaws well known, but I need a group to back me up in this or I shall be worse punished than I was for my last offense. (If you stick around I might just tell you what that was)
The underground
Even though I have a respectable position at the Conditioning Center, I happen to know a lot about the underground organizations and am involved in several. There are four main groups in the underground of our region. The aware vampires, The rebel humans, The elite cast-offs, and the Mixed bloods. I myself am a mixed blood but do to my offense before seem to hold more value to the elite cast-offs than any other group.
The aware vampires
As the group's name would express, these are the vampires that know what they are and practice the old ways of vampirism. The Elites very much so hate this group but can't seem to find out who is a part of it due to some of the communities desire to with hold information from the higher power. The vampires are actually a very popular group among the other groups as their is something so sexy about being bitten by a member of the group. Most of the group are very attractive from what I can tell and very cunning. They tend to hold hirer positions in the system as well making it that much harder for the Elites to figure things out. This group is a bit on the cocky side though, so I wont take any responsibility should you join the group and get caught.
The rebel humans
These humans are aware of the fact we are not all equal and hate that they are considered lower caste. Of course since they generally are not as strong as the other races of the area it could be a literal thing of them being lower caste. These humans are generally of the lower class and want to plan with the other rebellion groups to over through the Elites. The rest of the groups think this one is a bit of a joke, so good luck humans with that.
The elite cast-off
Most of the members of this group are watched very closely as they are actually elites who have been rejected by the upper caste elites, banished from the towers and forced to live with the rest of us. It is very hard to get involved with this group since they are so secretive, but I'm sure if I find you worthy they might consider letting you in. This group seems to value you me for my offense to the Elites a few years back but really I don't see why they would. Beware that sometimes someone passing themselves of as an elite cast-off might actually be a normal elite incognito! The best way to tell the difference is in the way they talk. Normal elites will talk all high and mighty as the cast-offs will speak more down to earth but with cleaver riddles infused.
Mixed Bloods
This group is for all the mutts like me that aren't a pure of anything. We are a rowdy group since we all are very different from one another but we can be very secretive. We are disliked by most of the pure races and called mutts, but really, we're used to it! We are more likely to be called on to meet with the Elites to see if we are pure enough to be in the tower, however, many of us have been cast away, laughed at or made a terrible offense to the Elites.
