So since many of us are trying to improve ourselves whether it be in martial arts or losing weight/staying in shape i thought i would ask what are you short term and long term fitness goals?
Edit: And what steps are you going to take to reach these goals?
Sacred's Goal
Myself i want to be able to do 100 consecutive push ups by the end of the year. So far i can probably get to 50 maybe more if i push really hard.
Updates:
Step 1: Switched from doing 4 sets of 25 push ups a day to 4 sets of 30 push ups a day.
Progress:
Feb 27th: 45 Push Ups
March 23rd: 50 Push Ups
So what about you guys?

I've spent the past several months working almost exclusively on developing my internal energy, using qigong my sifu taught me. My goal is to be able to move a tennis ball on a string using kong jin. Sifu Liu used to roll a baseball across the table doing the same, but I'll probably never be as good as him at projection.

You know...I'm going to open up to you all here and tell you my true reason for my goals.
A year and a half ago, I was diagnosed with Reynaud's Disease. Not secondary Reynaud's, but primary. Now, don't jump to conclusions by assuming I'm terminally ill. If I take proper care of myself then the Reynaud's won't be life threatening. It's a circulatory disease. The most obvious symptoms is when triggered (mostly from the cold) my extremities turn white and blue sometimes its hours before I get any feeling back. Sometimes it's painful, but it's mostly numbing.
But a less obvious symptom is that I get sick very easily. I probably get a cold or flu every two months. While I still get a lot of exercise, I can't seem to get myself out of the over-weight class on health charts. Basically, my overall health is really shitty. But you know, I'm so tired of being this way. So I'll just say this: My goal is to be healthy.

Master Xero_01 Get better lookin abs and be the first capoeira fighter in a mma gym by the beginning of 2011 From one Capoerista to another, I wish you the best of luck mate.
CURRENT GOAL
Just recently I was able to loose weight from 205 pounds down to 170, my goal for the moment is to try and stay there rather than jump back up to 205 after I injured my Knee back in October. Since loosing the weight I've played some of my best games in the Roda in a long time, and I would like to keep it that way.
HOW WILL I GET THERE
First off by eating healthy, I will admit to having a massive sweet tooth and caving in to cravings with sweets, (Lemon maraign Pie and Cheese Cake are two of my favorites) I don't need to quit eating the sweets, just continue to cut back and use will power to refrain from eating junk food all the time.
Second, get back to the gym. Since hurting my knee I haven't worked out as much as I used to, and have been slighty discouraged the past few attempts when I go and my knee acts up and I can't get in a full work out, sometimes leads me to missing weeks of training because of it. Just gotta keep going, do what I can and try not to force myself to do what I cannot and re-injure my knee.
I have more goals, but this is the first one on my list.

As far as short term goals... I want to win my MMA fight next week... Also I might compete in the Golden Gloves 6 days after my MMA fight but that depends on how I feel after the MMA fight. lol Then next month I may have a Muay Thai fight. Not sure yet.
I'm working out and training alot. Running every day for cardio... I spar every chance I get. I've gotten my weight from 192 down to 176. That's what I'll be fighting at. and I've been beating my shins every day to get them hardened.
As far as long term goals... I would like to stay around this weight or lose more weight. maybe down to 160... and I want to just keep fighting and training til I either get my black belt in kung fu, go pro MMA, or both. I may even open my own studio sometime. Who knows.
