Welcome to Gaia! ::

So, right now I have no job. Sometimes I get asked to do odd jobs for friends or family friends, but that's not an everyday job, so naturally I get stuck at home. I'm on a hiatus from job hunting of the heading-out-into-town-and-asking-random-businesses kind, because there is literally nothing around here (I at least check classifieds on any site I can think of and in the paper as often as possible.)

No, I don't have a car, I'm too poor. So going out is pretty much pointless, because even if I walk, I don't have spending money. I could walk an hour and a half or so to the nearest beach, but only an idiot would go to the beach alone - it's just not safe. :

I live near two friends, one I see everyday and every hour because he is my roommate - the other I live across the street from. At the very least, I can hang out with them... but not until the latter friend gets home from school. That leaves me with approximately 8-12 boobless hours of alone time. Chores and work-out time aside, I have been having almost nothing to do all damn day besides play video games. This lead to a relatively serious MMO addiction, in which I blew off any money I made on the stupid game. I am trying to get away from that.

Now I have discovered Gaia. Fortunately, I don't see any reason to spend any real life money on it. It gives me something to do for a few hours, at least, but I'm trying to avoid playing the games too much (especially zOMG, since I'm trying to break away from an addiction here.) Today's kind of gloomy out, so it's nice and cool, but the ground's kinda wet so I can't get outside to do yard work.... soooo I'm sitting here typing about my unemployment woes instead. :3

Anybody else having unemployment issues at the moment? If so, what in the hell do you do all day? If not, tell me about your job (justgivemesomethingtoread): What do you do? Do you like it? And if you feel like answering more questions... what kind of job would you like to be doing, or what is the last job in the world you would like?

To answer my own questions: I'd actually like to be doing some kind of hard-labor job. After being stuck at home for a while, the last thing I want is a job that'll keep me locked up indoors in front of a computer all day (as easy as it is to pass the time that way). The pay may or may not be good, but I'd like to sweat and work hard for my pay, it'd make me feel really accomplished, like I actually did work. Though I wouldn't be fond of a type of indoor or desk job, probably the last kind of work I'd wanna do is that of an American soldier... I think I'd rather work at a sewage plant than risk my physical and mental health for the rest of my life (or my life in general, for that matter... good cause or no, call me cowardly if you must.)

Well, I guess I'll wrap it up there. I'm off to lunch and chores. wink
