Slorynia: a realm of demons whose only laws are chaos. Ever changing, rarely responding to the actions of its inhabitants, giving sway only to the whims of the Gods said to dwell somewhere within. And serving as home to the one object that can prevent the finalization of its portal to the human world, and prevent the transfer of its citizens: The Serpent’s Glory.
The Serpent’s Glory is said to resemble a 7-pointed star with a snake weaving itself throughout it. Some legends say its silver, others say gold. And its likeness can be found everywhere throughout Slorynia – in all different colors, sizes, and materials. It is the symbol of the God of Chaos, Shel, and whichever side it is on when Shel decides to finalize or destroy the portal is the side that will emerge victorious. Will it be the humans or Slorynians?
Seven humans have been chosen to participate in Shel’s “game”. They are all different, however, they share one bond; whatever their motives, they all want to stop the finalization of the portal. What they choose to do with Shel’s item after, how they plan to retrieve it, what they wish for, whether they want to be there – these things vary.
The event was triggered by one boy who, while on a hike, wondered off the trail to examine an intricate design carved into a tree. Upon touching his finger to the tree, his body became engulfed in the hollow interior; the design faded and connected itself to a golden pendant, which stayed with the boy as he awoke in Slorynia. He was the first. Shel has decided that when his body is discovered, he will end the game.

From a world where only infants don’t know his name, Shel has gathered these seven. In their world, the moment they are taken, they collapse and their body falls into a coma as they awaken in Slorynia. They are all suddenly aware of the Serpent’s Glory and the portal. They also each have a mark in the palm of their hand, endowing them with a power – a blessing from Shel.

The land of Slorynia is ever-changing. The landscape changes, the sky changes. Anything set down in the world, even for a moment, may not stay there. Likewise, things that weren’t there a moment ago may be there now. In some remote areas, even gravity may change direction. Just because you hit a rotting, wooden door with a sword does not mean it will break – it may need to be poked with a candle before it will shatter.
The creatures who roam Slorynia are all different. They are chaotic, usually evil, and they want to invade the human world (at least for now). And having lived in Slorynia for so long, they might predict some of the changes in Slorynia; though often, even they do not know what to expect.

Life in the human world continues as friends, family, and detectives hunt for the body of the missing boy and the cause for the seemingly unrelated 6 people who fell into a coma all at the same time.

1)I am the Goddess here, as well as the Gods who may or may not interfere from time to time. ^_~
2)No godmodding.
3)No killing other characters without the user’s permission.
4)Romance is allowed, but please don’t cyber – that’s just unnecessary.
5)Be at least semi-literate.
6)PM all profiles to me: Heroes titled “I awoke in Slorynia”, Slorynians – “I live in Slorynia”, and humans – “Save them from Slorynia”.
7)Include a exclaim and the name of the guild somewhere in your PM.

Fears: the possible invasion, Shel's wrath, heights
Bio: He lived at him with his parents and younger sister. His older brother was in college, but still came by fairly often. He was hiking one day, as he loved to do, and noticed a design carved into a tree. He was fascinated and came for a closer look. But he passed out after touching his finger to the bark. When he awoke, he was in Slorynia with a strange golden pendant and suddenly knew that he just had to do something about that portal...
Power/symbol: In the palm of his hand, he discovered what looked like a chinese character. He has the ability to understand and speak any language.

Gender: female
Bio: She has a human upper half, and her lower half turns into that of a snake. She also has a human form - all that changes is her lower half. She is intrigued in humans, and she wishes to stay neutral if she can. Of course, if her side somehow begins losing, she is going to take a stand, but she has faith that the humans will fail, and just wants to watch their journey. She's the one in the first post.

Powers: She can see from the eyes of snakes and can change form - she can change to more than her human form, however, she never really sees reason to.
