ʞəɒиɒ XXXKeana dashed through the never ending trees, tears streaming down her face. Leaves and branches reached out, tearing her skirt, her shirt, and her skin alike. Roots and rocks and fallen branches reached up, trying to trip her. Her feet caught on a rock and she stumbled slightly, pulling a sob from her lips. The raven-haired girl wrenched herself back up straight and pushed through the trees, trying to find a light at the end of this dark tunnel, metaphorically speaking. 'But why are you running, Keana?' A soothing, quiet voice echoed in her head, causing the tears to run faster, and her breathing to quicken. 'Don't you love me, Keana? Why do you run?' Keana took a deep breath, answering him back out loud, her voice weak and cracking from exertion though. "I will no longer be your toy, Luchen! I am not your plaything!" Dark, yet bright, writhing tendrils of pure energy reached for her in the night, coming closer as she ran.

 ~Ixeil~
Down the path some ways was a man, or that least that's what you would think just looking at him sleeping there in the dirt. Many rumors had been spread about "Ixeil, escapee of jail..." Everyone liked to make up rumors only because he looked and acted so strange. He was a loner but had settled in this forest for the past while as there was water to be had and plenty of vegetation. It was quiet and peaceful here for the most part, that is until the sleeping beast was awoken by the sound of movement.
Someone was running in his direction and it had disturbed his slumber. Good gawd, can't people just learn to stay away long enough to let me sleep?! He was a bit more than annoyed as he stumbled to his feet and started in the direction the sound was coming from. Since he was up, he might as well stop what it was that was keeping him that way!

ʞəɒиɒ XXXKeana ran faster trying to outdistance the tendrils that reached for her, but they always managed to stay just behind her no matter how fast she ran. He was toying with her! Why couldn't he just get it over with already? She knew that he could catch her if he wanted, could do what he wished with her, and yet he did nothing except taunt her. His words still reverberated in her mind, though she paid them no heed as they all slurred into a buzzing in her mind. Her vision blurred as well, fatigue, unbidden and unwanted, suddenly claimed her. No! She was not tired! This was another of Luchen's tricks. Yet despite what she knew, her body tired. Her feet tripped over themselves as she ran and even her thoughts became sluggish. It was then she ran headlong into a tree, or so she though. She remained there, giving herself up as lost.

The tree she had run into toppled over, her on top of it as this tree was actually Ixeil. He let out a grown as really, this is what's happening hm? REALLY?!?! he thought to himself before peering down at the girl on top of him.
"In a hurry, huh?" he muttered coughing a bit as she had literally knocked the wind out of him. The last thing he expected to find down the road was a girl running, let alone one that was running fast enough to knock him flat on his a**. Curiosity might as well get the best of him since it wasn't like things weren't awkward at all as it stood. "You always go running over strangers in the the wood in the dead of night?" he asked now as it was a rather strange thing to be doing.
It didn't matter that he had been sleeping in the woods, which was even weirder than running through them in the middle of the night. He was like that, the kind to do weird things and yet question when someone else does something as if what he does isn't strange in the least. It pissed off a lot of people when he did that, but it didn't matter to him at all as his answer when they asked was generally 'none of your damn business'.

ʞəɒиɒ XXXThey toppled over and Keana immediately set to scrambling up. Apologizing as she did so. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I didn't expect anyone to be out here. I'm sorry."
She scrambled first to her knees, looking at the strange man in the eye. For now the wriggling, writhing tendrils that Luchen sent after her held back, as if waiting to see what powers, if any, the man possessed. Keana's eyes darted back and forth from Ixeil to the coils that waited. "Uh. This forest may not be the safest tonight, good sir. My apologies for running into you, I... " She paused, pulling back and standing swiftly, bragging his elbow to try and pull him up with her. Whether she heard more of Luchen in her head or not, she perceived something as dangerous.

Ixeil rose back to his feet, standing at well over six feet tall. His long white hair swished back behind him before his eyes fixed on the tendrils that had been stalking the girl. It was almost as if he were trying to read it's source the way it was trying to read him.
"Danger is never an issue for me," he replied, "I'm generally the cause there of to be honest. You having a problem with, uh, something..." He was clearly referring to the tendrils but didn't exactly want to sound like a nice guy offering to help. He just wanted his wood to be silent again so he could sleep. Would anyone grant him that gift? -hell no! If he wanted things done, he had to do it himself and at this point, well, he was in no mood for bullshit like tendrils chasing a girl, a girl that ran him over in the process of fleeing.
His gun was pretty obviously on him, but what kind it was, no one seemed to know, but it was a dangers sucker as it certainly wasn't normal! When was anything with Ixeil normal? Never, obviously one would know if they bothered to stick around long enough to witness his strange adventures, just seeking general peace in sleep.

ʞəɒиɒ XXX Keana gasped slightly as he stood, looking up at him. She pushed a sweat drenched strand of hair from in front of her face, still trying to catch her breath. She knew if she couldn't breathe normally again, it was well possible she could pass out... Again.
"Help?" Her voice was colored with confusion, how could anyone get rid of Luchen? Was there some way that he could send that demon back where he came from? Back to whatever circle of hell he spawned from? Keana sighed quietly at her thoughts. She didn't know exactly what he was, but knew enough to come to the conclusion that Luchen was not of this world.
She noted the gun at his side, narrowing her eyes as she thought. What could that gun do? She knew very well that no normal gun could harm Luchen, but if he had some sort of... 'magic gun'? She didn't know, she hadn't seen a magic gun before... So. Well, either way it was time she was moving on, before Luchen got too bold.

Indeed, the gun the man held was almost as peculiar as the wielder himself, and yet he didn't draw it. He just stared at the the foolishness before him and waited, waited for the next move. At any sign of attack he would more than happily fry it this enemy to a point beyond recognition.
This gun, it harvested part of his life force in order to almost deconstruct any other thing that existed and convert it back to lifespan for the man. In a way it was what was keeping him alive, but it only worked to a certain point before backlashes occurred, which generally meant he didn't get added lifespan and was just passed out for a good while, bleeding on the ground until some poor soul found him.
At least this scumbag has good taste in women... he thought to himself as he let his soulless eyes fall on her, his physical attention still directed to the motion that may occur.

ʞəɒиɒ For awhile the tendrils remained far back, weaving in the night. But eventually they teased forward, as if testing the air before him. Keana could feel Luchen in the back of her mind, curious at the man before her. Luchen could see through her eyes, hear what she heard, and at her weakest moments, affect her actions. He studied Ixeil as she did. Keana stood awkwardly, kind of beside the oddly colorless man, yet still unsure as to whether he was an enemy or ally.
Luchen got tired of waiting and finally just materialized in front of them. He tipped is hat to the man and bowed slightly, never taking his eyes off of him. "Greetings. I am Luchen. My apologies for Keana interrupting your sleep. You see, she is my charge, and she... Ah, got lost again." He spake smoothly, clearing his throat as he eyed Ixeil, an indescribable emotion behind his eyes if one looked close enough. He never once looked at Keana.
The thin, obviously malnourished girl stepped away as Luchen came into sight, pulling closer to the stranger beside her. She steadfastly refused to look at Luchen, though she did look at Ixeil, a look of pure desperation on her face. "Please," she whispered. It wasn't clear what she was imploring him, for after she murmured that one word, a look of pain crossed her visage and she backed away. Luchen watched on emotionlessly.

"I'm sorry but I don't entertain excuses, only actions. Further more strangers of magic chasing starving girls through woods at night are generally not the best kind to trust, but then again I suppose I'm not one to speak about trust," replied Ixeil, sharp eyes completely away now practically piercing the man's lack of soul with just one glance before letting them soften at the sound of the girl's soft plea.
It was rather obvious that Luchen was not a good person to this girl and further more that the girl certainly wasn't lost as he said. She was running away from his abuse no doubt. Only a monster with such keen intellect would pick up on the pungent scent of concentrated evil flowing off of this "Luchen". Yes, He would actually be somewhat nobleish and help this girl along as it wasn't like he'd be getting back to sleep any time soon and further more being up, he had nothing better to do.
Such noble reasons he had, NOT! At least he wasn't going to take the easy way out of this and surrender the girl that ran him over to this devil in disguise and be done with it. "Could you do me a great favor now and leave my forest before the trees become angry..."

ʞəɒиɒ Keana stood off to the side, neither beside Ixeil, nor Luchen. She didn't know whether or not to trust the new man, but knew for a fact she could not trust the old. She let out a breath she hadn't known she'd been holding as it became clear that he did not trust Luchen either.
Luchen tilted his head to the side as he examined him closer. "I'm sorry. Did you just say your forest? My apologies, but I do not see your name on it anywhere." His eyes flicked back to Keana, a look of pure hunger clear in them.
Keana backed away from him instinctively, pulling even closer to Ixeil. She felt so young, so immature that she couldn't face down her abuser.

"Claiming something with your name is just foolish," replied Ixeil, "and in this forest, you're chosen to either belong or be purged. Branches ruffled without wind, "looks like you've been rejected..." All of a sudden the trees all swayed viciously in the wind they were causing as if they were trying to uproot themselves and attack, but soon in the distant came loud stomping.
"Aw damn, you woke up the worst thing aside from me to wake in this place..." BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! The sound got closer and closer as the stamping continued and then all of a sudden it stopped. "Yeah, we'll be leaving this part of the forest now..." said the cunning white-haired man as he turned and pulled Keana by her wrist into the deepest depths of the trees. They began to sway again, only favorable to letting them in before going back to vicious movement towards Luchen.

ʞəɒиɒ At first Keana resisted being physically pulled along, an old instinct against physical contact at all. As soon as she realized that he was, in fact, helping her, she went along with it. She spared not a backward glance at Luchen, but inside she worried that he would follow.
Luchen's eyes widened slightly and his form dissolved, the tendrils becoming frantic in their movements. however, they came forward toward Keana persistently.

"Stay close..." muttered Ixeil as he pulled the girl along. A strange language roared through the area as the noises of movement increased. Branches viciously slashed the tendrils. The odd white-haired man picked up speed, quite literally moving at a rate that took the girl's feet off the ground before he jumped off this edge. They fell, quickly and through a barrier before they found themselves caught softly by a net of branches and leaves.
It was safe here, and bright, far more beautiful than the world outside the barrier that one could clearly see.
