so Mr. Shinoda of Linkin Park is going hip hop now huh? I think he got Jay- Z to produce. not sure though.
anyway i listened to his album Fort Minor at the record store the other day.
What do you guys think? He has some pretty dope flows. I think the problem with this album, is the beats he's rapping over. 16 tracks and just about every song sounds the same!! heck, a few of em just sound like Linkin Park! I think the stand out songs are the ones with guest artists on them. I dig the one with Common on it.

I listened to his record once when MTV had it on the Leak on their site. I was looking for something else and got bored so I listened to it. I think what you pointed out is very true. I haven't had time to listen to it in detail and heck I'm not much of a hip-hop fan. Its easy to please me but I really liked a couple of the tracks' lyrics...and the lyrics....I don't listen to the beats as much in Hip-Hop plus I only listened to it once.... sweatdrop As i said before I'm not much of a hip-hop fan and its easy to please me sweatdrop

I have had this album since it's release and I thoroughly love it. It does sound alot like LP...but Mike is a great writer, and his flow owns.

iLLvybe so Mr. Shinoda of Linkin Park is going hip hop now huh? He's always done hip-hop. He's Linkin Park's emcee. It's just that Fort Minor's 100% hip-hop. If you want to hear Linkin Park's rap side, check out their song Nobody's Listening and their album Reanimation. Shinoda's also collaborated with the X-Ecutioners( It's Goin' Down) & Handsome Boy Modeling School[ Rock And Roll(Could Never Hip Hop Like This) Part 2]. As for Fort Minor, it's good especially for hip-hop that doesn't use turntablism. The lyrics are cool. Shinoda may not be the best, but he's got skills.

The reason he did Fort Minor was that he wanted to get back to his hip hop roots.

Fort Minor was pretty good. I mean some of the beats could have been better, but overall it was pretty cool. I liked how he didn't go for merely a guitarless Linkin Park album.

Phantom1412 drcoco2k One thing Fort Minor does better than Linkin Park is have concrete lyrics. agreed. If you want to hear Linkin Park with concrete lyrics, I recommend Hybrid Theory EP. Remember, it's the EP, not the debut album. Here's the tracklist to help you look for it if you decide to. 1. Carousel 2. Technique 3. Step Up 4. And One 5. High Voltage 6. Part of Me By the way, when Linkin Park released this EP, the name of the band was Hybrid Theory. Step Up & High Voltage are the best tracks.
