Before this started I was just a day to day mechanic, repairing things from cars, mororcycles and I also patched up Kevlar for a few old army buddies. Yeah I was a Vet at one point in my life but those days were long gone.

I was at work one day and turned on my radio which I always do while I work, keeps Skip my dog from barking all the damn time, a news report came on in the middle of a good ol tune I was just enjoying warning of people going mad and violent in the streets, something about a virus and attacking the brain. I thought it was a stupid joke at first but that was until I got what I believed was a customer.

He seemed confused and emotionless, a pale face and was moaning strangely, I grabbed my tire iron which was just within hands reach remembering what the news lady said and called to the man "you alright mister?" he turned to me with his eye hanging from his socket and then lunged at me, I quickly beat him over the head with the tire iron until he stopped moving.

Skip didn't make it after the second week, he seemed to die after he was fooled by one of those kids who ate him like a snack, Skip always loved kids. I then met up with a Scientist named Julia, we have been salvaging what we can and helping her deliver medical packages to several outposts around Fairview. She always seems sad as if she feels responsible for what has happened but she is a kind woman who wouldnt hurt a soul, you can see that when you watch her feed the starving kids within the outposts of this town.

February 20th

Julia was exhausted and wounded from our deliveries last night but a cry for help from another outpost was received over our CB radio. Julia could barely walk and was in no condition to go outside, I had to fight with her to sit tight and told her I would take care of it. Albanhurst Hill is no picnic but I told her I could make it easier alone, after that she lay back down, she wasn't happy but I'm sure she would get over it.

I took meds and tinned food to the outpost in Albanhurst but not long before I got there the hordes came and fast at that, they seemed worked up as did the crows who were difficult to dodge. I finally got to the outpost with my armor just a little scratched but easily patched up. The survivors were locked up in the warehouse tight but I knew that it wasn't a safe area for them. I advised the elders of the outpost that our safehouse in Dawnhurst is larger and safer area for them to stay. They refused but I drew them a map with crayon showing where they could find us.

I left to an empty street, no sign of any infected so I had a look for any supplies I could find on the way back to Dawnhurst. When I got back Julia was fast asleep, I opened a can of beans and then lay to rest myself, I could patch the armor up later.
