In this class we want to learn Persian language,Persian is one of the oldest languages of the world that still survive.
In this Lesson we want to learn Persian in Fingilish Form At first and if everything goes well we can try to write in Persian Script too.

Fingilish
Fingilish is the persianlanguage written in latin Script instead of arabic.
Fingilish is mostly using in E-mails,Text messages, etc. but using fingilish is reallly unaccepted and impolite to use in formal writtings.
Okay nomore talking Lets get started.

Table of Contents
1.Alphabet
2.Pronouns
3.Plural and Singular
4.Feminine and Masculine
5.Numbers
6.Year,Months,Week and days
7.A simple Dialogue

Note:
*As u see in the Alphabet,In Persian we have 4 different letters that have /z/ Voice,And 3 /s/,2 /t/,2 /q/ and at last 2 /h/.These letters' secondary forms are pronounced different in Arabic but in Persian we pronounce them all the same.( Ask an Arab to find out their pronunciation)
How to Write in Persian?
Persian is cursive language and every Letter will hang to the letter before it(as you know Persian is a Right to left language so the letter before is the letter on the right side) and the vowels in these words cat ,bed, bore are never been written.
So this is the each letter's different position in a word:
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Note: The Vowels like bee, dude and father will be like this:
Pronounciation - Persian form - Example
/aa/- آب/باد-آ/ا
/u/- دود -و
/i/ - ایران/سیر - ی/ای
translation of the word you've saw above:
Word-Pronouciation-Translation
آب-Aab-Water
باد-Baad-Wind
دود-Dood-Smoke
ایران-Iran-Iran
سیر-Seer-Garlic
Exceptions
There are seven letters in the Persian alphabet that do not connect to other letters like the rest of the letters in the alphabet. These seven letters do not have initial or medial forms but the solo and the final forms are used instead because they do not allow for a connection to be made on the left hand side to the other letters in the word. For example, when the letter ا "alef" is at the beginning of a word such as اینجا "injā" (here), the initial form of "alef" is used. Or in the case of امروز "emruz" (today) the letter ﺮ re uses the final form and the letter و vāv uses the initial form although they are in the middle of the word.

Sperated Pronouns
In Persian we have 6 different Pronouns:

Man (I) - من
To ( You Singular) - تو
Ou ( He,She) - او
Maa ( We) - ما
Shomaa ( You Plural) - شما
Anhaa ( They) - آنها

Connected Pronouns
In persian if you have started your sentence with one of the above you have to finished with a specific Pronoun which is conncted to Verb. These Kind of Pronouns are called Shenase.

If you started a sentence with Man - من (I) u have to finnish it with Am م
and for :
To - At(ت)
Ou - Ad(د)
Maa - Im(یم)
Shomaa - Id(ید)
Anhaa - And(ند)

Possessive pronouns

Type 1(The easier) : Just add a "e-One of the Seperated Pronouns
e.g. : Dust e man - Friend of Mine -دوست من

Type 2 (Harder) : You have to add a Possessive Pronoun as a Suffix
e.g. :
Dustam - My Friend - دوستم

Singular And Plural

To make a Plural word in Persian the only thing you need is adding a "Ha" or one of the other Plural-maker suffixs as a Suffix.
Other Plural-make Suffixs:
"A" its short form of "Ha"
"An" Use only for Humans and some of other alive beings.
"At"&"Un" is used only for some of the Arabic words which entered Persian .Using these 2 is so rare,While using Ha is much easier and useful.

Examples:
Singular - Plural -Persian Form
Derakht - Derakhtan / Derakhtha (Tree - Trees) -درختان/درخت ها
Kibord - Kibordha (Keyboard - Keyboards) - کیبردها

A simple Dialogue
It's a Dialogue between Nazi and Kelara.
1.Nazi:Salam.Haletun Chetore?
2.Kelara:Salam.Xubam Merci.Shoma Chetorid?
3.Nazi:Manam Xubam,Man Nazi Hastam.
4.Kelara:Man ham Kelara Hastam.
5.Nazi:Man Shirazi Hastam,Shoma Kojayi Hastid?
6.Kelara:Man Rashti Hastam.
7.Nazi:Az didanetun Xoshbaxt Shodam.
8.Kelara:Man ham hamintor,Salam Beresunid.
9.Nazi:Hatman,Xoda hafez.
10.Kelara:Xoda negahdar.

Translation:

1.Nazi:Hello,How are you?
2.Kelara:Hello,Fine,Thank you.How are you?
3.Nazi:I am Fine too,I am Nazi.
4.Kelara:I am Kelara.(Ham in Persian means too But it makes no sense here)
5.Nazi:I am Shirazi,Where are you from?
6.Kelara:I am Rashti
7.Nazi:I am Pleasured of meeting you.
8.Kelara:Me too,Say Hi,
9.Nazi:Sure,Goodbye.
10.Kelara:Goodbye.

Notes:
*As you see in the Fingilish Dialogue,Both of them,Used "Shoma" to call each other,It's true that "Shoma" Is only have to be used for talking to many people,But if its you first time that you are talking to someone or someone older than you,Its more polite to use "Shoma" instead of "To".
*Shirazi Means Related Shiraz or people of Shiraz or its accent and Rashti means Related to Rasht or its people or its accent.
The "-i" is a suffix which makes adjectives,Like Rashti,Shirazi,Tehrani,... and this Suffix has also entered to English too, For Example:Iraqi,Pakistani,Israeli,Azerbaycani,....
*And as you See int the last part of the dialogue The two Person used different phrases to say goodbye,Nazi Used Xoda hafez and Kelara used Xoda Negahdar,The both phrases have the same meaning and Xoda=God,Hafez and Negahdar=Keeper.
*And about the names As we said "-i" is adjective maker and Naz means Pride so Nazi means "Prideful" So Nazi was adjective in ancient times and nowadays become a name for girls.
Kelara is a popular name for girls in north of Iran,I don't if it has any relations with Western name Clara.

Question time! I hope that's okay even though you haven't even seen that I want to be a student yet.

--
I've only read up on the alphabet so far and trying to understand how it works.

When do you use the different letters? Like there's Se, Sin and Sad for the same sound. What's the difference? Can either s-letter be used at any time, or are there any rules for this?

How do you know when a word is ending? I mean, spaces are used in English to show that one word ends and the next begins. Is there any character or something that is used, or a longer space or something?

and No there is no rule for that it's Just like c and k,U just have to memorize the words.(anyway we are using fingilish in these lessons so u won't need to memorize things like that).

as u see in the picture when forming a word the letters hang to each other ,so when letters are hanged to each other( or are near each other in some cases) it means we have a word there and of course we have space between words ,Because it's a Calligraphy ,it's a little Hard to detect Spaces.
But in a text like the below one you can clearly see the space between words.( It's Hilary Clinton's Persian Wikipage)
