I have created a new subforum in order to de-clutter the main forum: OOC Chatterbox.
The main forum now contains the following: announcements, crew-created threads, and those threads noteworthy enough to concern all members of the guild (like the trading card game and the newspaper) for an extended period of time. In short, it contains all of the threads that new players should read and old players should be familiar with.
All other non-RP threads have been relocated to the OOC Chatterbox subforum. I called it "chaterbox" to give players the freedom to post more or less whatever they care to, but here are some do's and don'ts:
3nodding It's ok to:
1. Advertise the opening of a new thread RP or location (Like Naturae or the Skate-Bowl) if you are starting one.
2. Start threads for discussions about life issues, politics, philosophy, writing, art, music, etc. (Like in the Extended Discussion Forum)
3. Place personal ad threads for things like "RP Partner wanted."
4. Have discussions about the Gaia site, community, items, av's, storylines, etc. (Like in the Gaia Community Discussion Forum)
5. Talk about RPing in and outside of Crosshaven, and anything related to Crosshaven.
6. Just Chat.
7. Ask for donations for a Crosshaven public room you are creating.
scream But please don't:
1. Please do not make threads that whore for votes in the arenas. There is an Avatar Arena Thread, and a Housing Arena Thread in the OOC Chatterbox, where you can make a post with a link to your entry, discuss your entries, etc. But please don't beg for tens.
2. Please don't recruit for other guilds in the OOC forum. That's kinda bad form. I dom't mean you can't say "Hey, the other guild I'm in is awesome" during a chat, just don't post a new topic like this one: "Vampire's Dark Castle Recruit, RP Guild."
3. Don't post a "donate to me" thread. If need be, I will create a "member quests" thread that everyone can post on. It feels good to donate, and some of our members are very generous in helping one another out, but please use the thread.
I have de-stickied all but the Introductions Thread, because with so few threads in the main forum, it's rather pointless to keep half of them sticky. (The Introductions Thread is still a sticky only so that it will be the first thread that new players see.)
Players are still free and encouraged to respond to any of the threads in the main forum, but please post all new personal OOC threads in the OOC forum. If you have an idea for a thread that should be placed in the main forum, let Blood on Roses know by PM, and the crew will consider it.
I encourage all members to visit the OOC Chatterbox regularly, and to help us to make it a thriving OOC community.
