Welcome to the land of Tiberoa. It is a land comprised many territories, a land of many climates, and a land of many Guardians. Welcome, because you might not have such a nice farewell... The BeginningNo ones knows how the Twins came to be. They were Llyod, the Good, and Triad, the Evil. They created every thing in the world, from the color of the sky to shores of the world. The tree and insects, bears and wolves, lizards and frogs, and even the smallest of organisms too small to see. They created the ways of fire, destructive and warming, the ways of the storm and blizzard, and even the movements of the constellations and the phases of the moon. Llyod gave everything a true, good purpose, while Triad gave everything an evil, horrible side effect. Triad was the selfish twin and wanted all to be as he wanted instead of sharing with Llyod, so he plotted to kill Llyod. The plot failed and Llyod was forced to take his brother's life. Llyod left all that they had left and, sensing his time was closing, made a new god to replace he and his brother, Odin. Lloyd left, passed on else where, and left Odin the world. Odin saw how humans lived and decided to gift them with Guardians, each guardian to gift their charge with their powers or curse them. This took Odin a lot of his strength so he eventually found that he needed to rest, but he could not leave the souls of humans to walk the earth in pain, so he created Waiting, the place souls went to await Odin's Awakening and their Judgement. The Guardians Odin left were to take care of their charges in his time of sleep. Important Geography, History, Guardians, and their GiftsQueens:The Western most Territory in the land of Tiberoa. It has a humid climate and is seaside. The started as fishermen and soon those fishermen found the islands to the west. The islands were rich in herbal medication but not so rich in other items that Queens could provide. Soon trade blossomed and flourished not only with these islands but also with the Northern Kingdom. Queens then fell into a brutal civil war without a genuine, unbiased police force. Soon merchants were ordering hits, so mercenaries found their way to Queens. Eventually though, a power arose, great respected. It was Qusaia, and she was proclaimed rightful queen. She built the castle in the seaside city and established the city guard and equipped them with their signature weapons, rapiers. Sadly, Qusaia was ed by a mercenary at a young age, but Odin placed her immortally among the Guardians. She is now the Guardian of Queens. She is worshipped with an annual parade, though most no longer care for their long queen. It is now ruled by a concil of advisers, military, religous, political, and economic. Her gift is a set of armor and her personal rapier. Tillen:Tillen is east of Queens and south of the Northern Kingdom. It mostly a farming area, only a small village being set in its center. Most of its occupants migrated from Queens to grow their own food. It was chosen near the beginning who would be the Guardian. Willow, a nymph with the power of plants, was chosen to gain this charge and watch over the fertile lands. Most farmers offer silent prayers now and then, but other than that, their is no set form of worship. A mayor rules these lands now. Willows gift is a bow and a magic quiver that never runs out of arrows. Dirge:Dirge is a forested land of hunters. It is below Tillen and east of Queens. The people have started in these forests claim they have always lived in this area, though there are rumors they came from the Sorrin Desert to the South. It was decided almost as fast as Willow's charge that Phane's charge would be Dirge. Dirge is the Guardian of Beasts and Bravery and Strength. He is often told as being a wolf-human hybrid, a werewolf type man. This land is ruled by the most respected hunter. The way people worship Phane is simple, they sing his praises and pray to him as they hunt. Phane's gift a battle-axe and the senses of the wild animals. Sorrin Desert:The Sorrin Desert is, by far, the largest territory in the West. Its boarders are unset and they simply claim the desert areas. Most believe that this is the origin of most people. They people here are warriors and most are much taller than any other people in the land. There are two tribes in this territory, the Moon Tribe and the Sun tribe. They constantly fight, for their Guardian is Joska, the woman warrior. She was chosen by Odin to defend honor and glory. This territory is, by far, the most religious. Put "Boo" at the the top of your profile so I know you read all this. They have an annual ceremony to honor their Guardian and to set any that have followed the code of honor in the Sun and Moon temple. Although the tribes constantly fight, this ceremony is the only time of peace that has ever existed between the two. The gift of Joska is split between the two tribes, items that had belonged to her. The Sun tribe shall receive two daggers that always appear in their sheathes, while the Moon Tribe shall receive her unbreakable spear. The ConflictLong ago the Northern Kingdom and the Eastern Kingdom attacked these territories. At first it looked as if the territories would become the pieces of these empires, but then a few heroes arose to set the defenses that Odin set in his rest. Walls were raised from the ground, separrating these territories from the Eastern and Northern Kingdoms. Lately however many have been worrying about how long the peace would last, for the lands to the south and the Sparkling Ocean is still open for attack from the Northern Kingdom. The territories have been selecting their adventurers to give their gifts to. They are to be sent to the lands to the south and beyond to find help. Accepted Profiles Username: booncj Name: Sheba Age: 19 Gender: female Territory: Queens Image: ShebaOther: Sheba's father was the most renouned weapons master in Queens, so she learned to fight with swords from a small age. The rapier had allways been her favorite. By the time she was 15, she was beating people twice her age in duels, and many thought she had a natural skill for it. What they didn't know was that she spent hours every single day practicing, training. She was determined to be the best. Her harsh father had ingrained in her mind from her youth that since she was a , she was less usefull than if she had been a male. He was always dissapointed that she wouldn't be able to take over the business since he felt that it wasn't woman's work. Sheba felt as though if she was not the best at something, she was useless. She wanted to earn her father's respect, so she tried with all her might to become the best swordswoman the land had ever seen. Still her father paid her no head. Eventually giving up on her hope, Sheba became withdrawn, and stopped being friendly with people. She dislikes men because of her experiences with her father and is very serious most of the time. She is afraid to let her guard down near people and spends much of her time alone. Username: Toxlind Name: Jadea Age: 17 Gender: Male Territory: Dirge Image: JadeaOther: Jadea has always been a good hunter, though not the best. His favorite pass time was to retell stories of Phane. Phane was his hero and he was no good with the songs so he decided to remember the stories. He was chosen by the people of Dirge to travel as a test to enter manhood, as every hunter must. He doesn't much know how to use his axe yet, but he is deturmined to travel with his companions and learn along the way. Username: Squvil Name: Hassan Ahmed Age: 19 Gender: Male Territory: Sorrin Desert, Moon Tribe Image: Hassan AhmedOther: Hassan has always been the tribe's child. Both of his parents died fighting the Sun Tribe. No one person took him in, yet every one treated him like their own flesh, making him the child of the Tribe. Even though he was claimed by everyone he slept on the sand and was responsible for his pulling his own weight within the Tribe. Early on Hassan became self sufficient, much sooner that most of the other children and he rarely asked for help. Even now he is hesitant to ask aid of another unless he is bleeding to or starving. In stead of playing or causing trouble like the other children did in their spare time Hassan spent his time learning the ways of his people and listening to the tales of Joska. He became a devout practitioner of his peoples ways never will he break the tenants of his faith nor will he convert to another. As soon as he was old enough Hassan begin training with the warrior of his Tribe. For a weapon he selected two scimitars to train with. Pulling his own weight, religious duties, and weapons training didn't leave much time for freinds. He became a competent warrior and next in line for spiritual leader at the cost of social skills. He is rather unsure of the social customs that go on outside of his tribe, and has trouble making freinds. Most find his zeal unbearable. At the tender age of sixteen he was told that he must leave the Tribe. Not out of spite or wrong doing, but because he was told that one cannot simply learn the teachings of faith, but one must walk the land to understand it fully. One must see other ways of life, other faiths, other people and learn their ways. Only then could he truly understand the faith. So with his scimitars in hand and the optimism of youth to walk the world, until he truly understood his faith. Username: booncj Name: Rowan Age: 18 Gender: Female Territory: Tillen Image: RowanOther: Rowan's people are very connected to the earth, since so much of their culture is based around farming. Her father is a dairy farmer and her mother a baker. Rowan spent much of her youth helping her father at the farm and her mother in the kitchen. It was common for the people of Tillen to know archery, since it wasn't unheard of for an animal to become paniced or crazed and go on a rampage. At these times, the animals had to be put down safely and from a distance. Rowan had always had a knack for arching, and this was why she was chosen to represent the Tillen territory. She believes that when anything dies, it returns to the earth and becomes one with it, but still she is hesitant to kill anything unless it is the only option presented. She has always been well loved by everyone she met, and is dedicated to doing anything she can to prevent conflict from hurting those she cares about. Rules 1. Jadea walked along the hot sand, his bare feet burning even through the bandages that wrapped them. He could complain, but what good would it do? After what he had heard, the deadlands would be colder. In the distance he could see the Sun Tribe village, the decided meeting place for those wo were to travel south.
The heafty weight of Jadea's battle-axe gave him courage for the coming trials and whatever wasn't covered by the battle-axe was covered by the stories of Phane would more than make up for. He still recalled many of the stories, but as he continued towards the village he wondered, for not the last time, whether that would be enough for the journey ahead.

Hassan Ahmed strode through the sands of the Sorrin Desert the only place he has ever known. Yet for now he was in unfamiliar territory for he stood in Sun Tribe territory. He despised the Sun Tribe with a fiery passion fueled by personal loss and ignorance. While he was smart enough to know that his hatred was rather illogical for he based his hatred upon the loss of people he never knew and the rhetoric spouted by the warriors of his tribe and both Tribes followed the teachings of Joska. He just hated them with almost the same fanatical zeal that he had for his faith. It was rather clear that the Sun Tribe warriors had been awaiting him clearly seen by the large party of heavily armed men and women that greeted him with unkind word and gestures. Joska guide me through this trial. A small prayer he he offered silently as the warriors encircled him and escorted him to their village. Give me the inner strength to not strike these warriors down. He gripped the scimitars that fell at his waist tightly using his wavering will power he kept his blades at his side for the moment. I am on a quest in Joska's name I should not soil it with blood. This was the mantra that ran through Hassan's mind keeping his wavering will power from collapsing as he was lead into the village.

♦SHEBA♦ Sheba stood in silence, squinting her eyes as she gazed off at the endless expanse of sand and dunes that streched out before her. One of those rare soft desert breezes caused a strand of Sheba's hair to escape from it's binding and brush infront of her eyes. She pushed it back behind an ear with a quick movement of her hand before letting that same hand move to the handle of her rapier. Her fingers wrapped around it gently, then fell away, back to her side. Compared to the crowded and dirty streets of Queens, her homeland, she found this place very peaceful. Regardless, she would not be staying long. She was only here to meet those she would be traveling with. She understood completely why she had been sent, as she was the most qualified as far as her swordsmanship went. What she didn't understand is why she had to go with other people. She would rather have done this alone. She'd never gotten along that well with people before, but maybe that was her own fault. Maybe it was because she spent so much time trying to become the child her father wanted that she never tried to make friends of the other children. By the time she had realized this, the girls her age were already becoming women, and they found Sheba strange since she never wore makeup or dresses and never participated any any activities that were considered femanine. The boys hated her because she was a better fighter than them. As a result, she spent so much time by herself that she had never become very good at interacting with people. She wasn't a cruel person, but she was often sarcastic and painfully blunt. With a sigh, she started towards her destination once more. Her leather boots sinking into the sand with each step, making the process of climbing the sand dune before her even more daunting. Not much farther she thought to herself.

The Sun Tribe warriors escorted Hassan to the center of the village and deposited him somewhere near another man, an outsider. Am I to walk the lands with an outsider? A simple question he wandered for the second time. The first was when he returned to his home in the sands with tales of far off places and peoples. He had assumed that his travels where done that he had finally understood his faith. Unfortunately for him he had assumed wrong he was told that he must once more leave, this time head into the territory of the Sun Tribe. The exact words of the local spiritual leader for his Tribe where. Follow the path of the rising sun there you will find others who you will walk a path with. This is a task that has been given to you from the prophet. At the time he was rather willing to wander once more in Joska's name, but he did wander if he was to be sharing a path with outsiders. His questions went unanswered and instead he was given a long object wrapped in ceremonial cloths that where covered in prayers written on the cloths. He didn't know exactly what it was but graciously accepted it. So now he stood near an outsider surounded by hostile warriors in hostile territory, to walk a path that's destination was unclear. It would have been an understatement to say that Hassan was rather uncomfortable. Instead of speak with the outsider since he had yet to grasp the art of conversation, He sat on the ground and began his very own meditation session meditating on the basic tenets of faith.

Jadea had arrived, the blisters under his bandages giving him pain he had long since learned to ignore. The people of the Sun Tribe welcomed him as warmly as they welcomed most: a slight nod, tip of the hat, or maybe the occasional smile. Jadea found it fascinating, this culture. They were clearly a strong people, a high respect in Dirge. There was only one problem... he couldn't remember where they were to meet. Was it in a certain building? Well of course it was, but which one? Perhaps the village leader would know. Maybe that was the building he was supposed to travel to, though it was his luck that they were to meet else where, perhaps another territory entirely. No, he couldn't be that stupid. He travelled to the leader's hut, probably one of the stone buildings he thought, but then again he could've been wrong. He thought, 'This could take a while...'

♦SHEBA♦ Reaching the peak of yet another dune, Sheba finally saw the village. The Sun Tribe was right before her. Her journy had begun. She began to climb down the towering pile of sand, the loose grains becoming unsettled and making her slide and almost fall. She regained her balance and continued to the bottom. Though her feet carried her towards the meeting spot, and towards a great quest, her face held a peculiar apathy. She'd had no one to say goodbye to, so it didn't really matter if she came back or not. She had no attachments to her birthplace, so why was she going to risk everything to defend it? Because she was told to, not because she wanted to. For this reason, she didn't care particularly about the mission. She would carry her own weight, but succeed or fail, it made no difference to her.
As she entered the tribe, she carried herself with a distant, sort of untouchable air, and as a result no one greeted her, they just stared at her or ignored her all together. She didn't care. Sheba felt a bead of sweat roll down the back of her neck, the product of the glaring sun that beat down. She was fair skinned, so she had sheilded herself with a white hooded cloak, though the hood had fallen back from her face a while ago and she hadn't bothered to fix it, to help reflect the sun and prevent burning. Without being held back by pleasentries, she made her way directly to the meeting place, only to find that she was not, as she had expected to be, the first one there. A man who looked about her own age sat meditating. Sheba did not disturb him, instead she removed her cloak and leaned against the cool stone of a nearby building, waiting in silence for whoever else might come.

The village leader, after the shake of head, had told Jadea where he was designated to meet the other two travellers. Jadea had also asked him why only three of the five people chosen by their Guardians and by their people were to leave and he was told, "Because we are on the defensive and if the walls were to fall with the all chosen persons away we would fail indefinitely. Now, you are to leave today. Go to the meeting area and meet the man from the Moon Tribe," Jadea noticed how the man's fingers clenched at this, "and a woman from Queens." Jadea hadn't previously known who would accompany him, but he had known how many he was to be travelling with. This would help, for he knew what the people in Queens looked like. The Sorrin Tribes might have had ways to distinguish amongst themselves, but Jadea could see no differences. Jadea himself had never been mistook for anything other than a hunter from Dirge, his skin being only just touched by the sun, a slight tan. He was rather short for most hunters, but that was no problem, for hunting was based on strength and smarts.
Jadea continued to the meeting place, glancing a few Sun Tribe members as they kept watch over him, their caution not understandable to Jadea. He looked once more to the sky, blue and nearly cloudless if it weren't for a few puff balls here and there. As he looked back to the meeting place he immediately noticed the woman from Queens. He figured the man from the Moon Tribe would be here already and, taking into account the blatant hatred of the tribe leader, looked at the other Sun Tribe warriors. Many looked at the woman from Queens and himself, but only with cautious glances. They looked at a meditating man even more often with the same obvious hatred showing through their features. 'That must be the man from the Moon Tribe... either that or some embarrassment to the village,' he thought and decided to go with the first thought. He walked to the woman of Queens and as he got close he asked, "Is that man okay?" He didn't want to mess around with any of these natural born warriors.

♦SHEBA♦ Sheba's eyes flickered to the man who had just approached her. She did not respond to his inquery right away, instead her brown eyes, tinted with reds and yellows that made them look like fire, sized him up slowly. He seemed slightly younger than herself, though not much. Clearly he was from Dirge, though he wasn't quite as tall as the few other Dirge hunters she'd seen. Her gaze slowly trailed accross him unblinkingly. The silence streched for an almost uncomfotably long time, but she still took her time deciding if this man would be of use, or if he'd be a hinderance in the quest. She decided that though he had the body of a fighter, there was no way to tell how compatent he was with a weapon until she saw him in action. Finally she adjusted her stance so that she was no longer leaning against the building and turned her gaze to the man in question.
"He's fine. Just meditaiting," she said, trying not to let the powerful heat of the sun make her irratble. After all, she'd be with these people for a while. It would be smart to try and get along with them as best she could. Sheba herself spent plenty of time in meditation, and so could clearly identify when someone else was doing it. She opened her mouth again as if to say something, then snapped it shut, deciding otherwise. She didn't want to get too friendly with these people, after all, it was perfectly possible that one or more of them wouldn't make it back.

In Joska's name we live with honor...A feeling of frustration washed over Hassan as he realised that he had learned nothing more about his faith between when he first left his Tribe and now. He opened his eyes and slowly stood up mildly surprised to find two outsiders standing near by. Their pale skin was a dead giveaway that they did not hail from the sands. Along with their dress and the woman's blade. These must be those who I must walk a path with. From what he could see of them they looked as if they had seen at least some combat. If he was took walk with armed and tested warriors then he assumed that the path would be dangerous. Danger actually made the trip sweeter since it was rather difficult to achieve glory by staying safe all day. While he was meditating he had forgotten about the hostile environment that surounded him and now catching the glares from the Sun Tribesmen he was reminded of the fact. While he wasn't going to lash out, for the moment, he would return some of the hostile looks. Once he was sick of looking at the Sun Tribe he decided it would be a good idea to introduce himself to the others he would be traveling with. "Joska's blessings upon you...I am Hassan Ahmed. Son of the Moon Tribe." He kept the introduction short even so he sounded unsure of what he was saying. Which he was since he does not know the proper greeting of outsiders. ...and die for glory.

Jadea's smile altered into an akward grimace as the uncomfortable and blatant silence as she stared him down. When she finally responed he understood, but he had never truly understood meditation. Instead of continuing the akward silence he turned to look at the man from the Moon Tribe. For moment he debated whether he should introduce himself or not and, after many minutes of debating the consequences, turned to talk once again to the woman, "Well... I am Jadea," he extened his right hand and continued, "what's your name?"
He avoided the eyes, cursing himself that he couldn't, see it being a cowards move. All of Dirge found their strength in unwavering bravery in any situation. If he couldn't muster the bravery to look an ally in the eyes what of the days, perhaps weeks or even months ahead.

♦SHEBA♦ Sheba now sized up Hassan, not trying to hide the fact that she was judging him. She gave a brief nodd towards him as he introduced himself. She knew very little about the religions of the Sun and Moon tribes, so she could only assume that Joska was the name of his God. She could already tell he was a fairly religious person, first meditating and now a greeting that consisted of blessings. She herself had never been very religious. She wasn't an atheist, she just hadn't spent much time thinking about religion. The concept interested her though. Perhaps if the chance ever arose she'd ask him about his Joska and his religion.
Sheba looked at Jadea's hand, as if debating whether to accept it or not. Finally she did, though she shook his hand only once before pulling away. "Sheba, of Queens" she said, her own introduction even more breif than Hassan's had been. She already felt overheated from her time in the sun, though she decided it was something she'd have to endure. At least until they left the desert. As another slight breeze brushed past she inwardly rejoiced at the breif respite from the scorching heat.

Jadea found her pause before the introduction hurtful, even spiteful. He didn't quite consider it an insult, "She could just be a master tactician," Jadea found himself thinking. He next looked to Hassan Ahmed, the Moon Tribe warrior who had been meditating. He seemed to appreciate his Guardian far more than Jadea loved Phane. He had heard of Joska and even learned a bit about her. She had, apparently, once been a warrior of the Sorrin Territory before they had been separate tribes. Instead of fighting a loosing battle with Queens she focused on those who pestered Queens. After her death and gaining her Guardianship she was worshipped by the Moon tribe while the sun tribe worshipped her out of fear and respect. Phane's stories, he found, were not as revolutionary, more entertaining, each having a subtle moral. He wondered if this man would be as warm as Sheba, perhaps a bit warmer would be his personal preference.
He looked to the sky, covering his eyes to the bright sun, just in time to see vulture fly to the north high in the sky, a mere speck. He hoped that such wasn't an omen for what was to happen to Dirge while he was on this test for his manhood. He looked back to the party and asked, "So, do we start off today? A bit too hot for me, honestly... perhaps we should wait for nightfall?"

☼Rowan☼ Rowan was hurrying to the designated meeting place as fast as the sand and heat would allow. She hoped she wasn't late, but at the same time, she did have a tendencey to arrive just after things happened. It was probably because she had such a care-free personality that she didn't let things like time bind her down. As soon as the Sun Tribe was in sight, she felt a rush of relief and excitment flow through her, she was almost there! Moving more quickly now in her eagerness to meet her traveling companions, she soon stepped foot into the tribe's village. Since she was so obviously a foreigner, Sheba felt many eyes turn to watch her, and it made her feel slightly uneasy. Regardless, she shrugged it off, offering a bright smile or a cheerful 'hello' to everyone she passed by. Her outgoing, friendly personality was enough to melt even the hearts of the Sun Tribe, and many of them gave a curt nod of greeting back at her, which was more than they did for most people. Not knowing quite where to go, she wandered the village for a short while until someone noticed that she was lost and pointed her in the right direction. She quickly found the three that awaited her arrival. She moved towards the trio and smiled warmly at them. Her eyes quickly scanned each of her future companions. Looking at Jadea she quickly said, "Dirge, right?" Turning her gaze to Sheba she said, "Queens." Finally looking to Hassan she hestiated for a moment, then finally asked, "Moon Tribe?" She hadn't been in the Sun or Moon tribes before, so she couldn't tell the difference between one from the Moon tribe and one from the Sun tribe. Her only clue was that he seemed to feel somewhat out of place here, therefore leading her to believe that he was of the Moon Tribe. "I'm Rowan, from Tillen," she introduced. "I'm glad there's another girl amongst us," she said to Sheba, who raised one eyebrow but didn't respond. Rowan seemed unphased by Sheba brushing her off and continued. "I'm probably not as well trained with my weapon as any of you, but I'll do my best," she said.
