I'm sure there will be an official headset coming out (look at the port in the front!), but right now are there already headsets that will plug into the system?

There deffinitly will be BUT WHEN crying crying . it willl be easier then typing. THEY SHOULD MAKE EM WHEN METROID COMES OUT that would be sweet.

Adding something like voice chat into a game can take quite a few resources if it isn't put together well, there for lowering performace.

You dont need anything official, any headsets/phones would work fine. I got a new pair for xmas (mine were pretty ragged!) and it works fine, and its a headset. ^^ of course the headset's mic cant do anything but thats hardly a problem.

Meru-chan Theres no spot for the mic thing to go into. Yeah there is. Check the headphone jack closely. There's an extra slot next to it and a little symbol that looks like a headset.

well befor they get to head sets they need to get at least some sort of online communication going. maybe nintenmail you get when your DS goes online. personaly i think they need to redo the DSs soft ware and make it more online orianted. Mail to friends, friends lsits that talk to user names rather than a certain DS card. Bnet style online play not the random game generator. that would require a mass recal or piss ever one off with a nintendo DS 2 or jsut re do the lites software and still piss of people. the DS has what is needed for online chat via headphone but i dont think it has the software built in.
