And they say that a hero could save us. I’m not gonna stand here and wait. I'll hold on to the wings of the eagles. Watch as we all fly away. ◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦
I actually stayed up to watch it, which is rare because usually I'm too lazy to stay up for anything xDD
I'd already seen and been excited about it since Funimation has been putting the episodes up on their youtube channel, but I wanted to hear the english one.
Al sounds different, but I guess it was inevitable, and I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually.
I still really love the opening and ending <333 And I prefer the manga storyline, so that is exciting o3o
The only things I'm kind of sad about is that the music is just not as powerful as it was in the original series, at least not from what I've seen. ◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦
And they're watching us (Watching Us) They're watching us (Watching Us) as we all fly away.

Yes. I agree. I liked the opening and closing songs but it's no 'Ready, Steady, Go!'. And Al's voice is different. The second I heard it I knew. And I was a little disappointed with the art/drawings. I think they may have gotten new artist or something. I feel like some of the details in the art are missing. there's no really definition to the characters. Maybe that's just me.
I've heard about it for a while and I really wanted to go on youtube and watch it, but I promised myself I would wait. I'm usually pretty bad about not waiting to see the series in English. I get too excited! whee

I've been watching it since it came out in Japanese subs. I think subs are 1243485 times better than dubs.
Just my opinion though ;]
Also, brotherhood is way more awesome than the previous one. And if you watch it in subs Roy's voice is hotter too.

That's one thing I don't really like about the American versions of animes. They always cast people that don't fit the character, at least in my opinion. For me, their voices just don't fit.
I used to have time to watch the subbed versions, but I have a bad habit of watching episode after episode nonstop. I just get too into it and I don't stop! It's better for me if I just record one episode at a time on the DVR and watch it later. xp

I dunno, I kind of like that they took off the harsh outline to Ed's hair XD And Al looks exactly the same to me. The subtle art differences don't really bother me.
I'm finally catching up with the subs on youtube (ep.36 out of 41) but I'll probably still watch it on Adult swim :'D
Yes, I prefer the subs as well like 95% of the time. The original FMA was one of the few I could like for dubs, but that might be because I watched more than half of it in dubs (before I even discovered the option of watching it in Japanese with subtitles xDD ) and was so used to it that way. The 5% would probably be Cowboy Bebop which just makes more sense to me to be in english -shrug- I also kind like Princess Mononoke dubbed because the subbing on the DVD is so horrible (no dark outlines) and my tv so small that it just hurts my eyes to look at it ( even though I know the story by heart XDD)
@Cynical; I have the same problem with getting way too into it :'D I wish I had the option of a DVR though ;o;

Alphonse's voice is different because Aaron dismuke , who originally did al's voice , matured and his voice was deeper and could no longer do the role but they said he will get a part later on in the series . He was replaced by Maxey whitehead

I did not know that. Thank you for the information. FOr the record I think Maxey is doing a great job. He doesn't sound exactly like Alphonse but he's pretty close. wink

Yeah, I was pretty sure it had to be a different VA. I am curious to see what role it is that Aaron will have though o: I have to hear more of Maxey to get used to it, I think. ◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦

A lot of women do great male voices. Like, the voice for Naruto in the American version is done by a woman. And the original voice for Edward Elric is done by a woman I think.
I never realized how different the original anime was from the manga. I never had the chance to read the manga. So far is this new version of the anime sticking to the manga?

@Al; You say that, but I really don't think of Al as a 'man' He's still young, and considering he never got to go through puberty, I think it makes sense for his voice to be more feminine/childish. And that is disregarding his personality, which is a lot more gentle than what can be conveyed with a strong voice. I admit the new dub has it a bit too high right now, but I don't think it's totally off base. ◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦◦
