Man! I've been gone for a while, eh? Sorry, I'm not all that responsible...like some people. (*cough, cough* Chef. >.>) but I am somewhat getting better at drawing. Just today, I tried to draw someone's avatar. I admit, it isn't the best (and I know that Beny is going to laugh. stare I'm watching you.) but it was a shot and she kinda liked it. ^_^ Ta-da...? Yeah. I know. It's bad. Hush. >___> And...the point of this?? I want YOU GUYS to post your best (or worst) avatar pictures in the sections below . Appreciate it, y'all. wink

Thanks! X3
I think your drawing is adorable and epic! =D Why not color it in? I'm sure it'll look awesome! biggrin
(I don't do hands either. sweatdrop They come out as claws or very very sharp fingertips in my drawings. O.o Sometimes, they don't even look like hands. XD)

i might get someone else to color it for me, but i can't seem to get it right. my sister can vouch for me. i can't stay inside the lines to save my life. you'll notice the edges are a little rough? yeaaaah... sweatdrop after that the drawing can't really be saved. i usually end up doing that fingers-glued-together puppet hands thing if i try. i usually stick to doodling and stick figures.
more people need to participate! slate draws really well. i have seen it. 3nodding

Neko-Chan and Doughnut say wha--? XDDD
I've actually found out why I was not doing well on my first drawing.
One: It turns out, I'm an Nocturnal Artist and I just get urges to draw at night when no one is there to bother me.
Two: I need to draw more cartoonish. Have any of you seen the Spectacular Spider-man episodes? Well, if you have, I'm not drawing exactly like that...but it's tilting that way with one of them. Turns out, anime is too hard for me. xD
Yeah.
That's it. O__O

i'm out of apple juice and i swear animal crackers changed their recipe! they're not as sweet, i think. crying i did like the way the brewery smelled that one time we went, though, remember? but yeah, alcohol doesn't particularly look, smell or taste appealing. also, it's bacteria poo (or was it gas?) so yeaaaaah... i can understand that nocturnal artist thing. i'm kinda the same way. it's easier to draw when you're relaxed, i think, and night time is good for that 'cause, yeah, everyone else is sleeping. it's nice. the deal with cartoons especially is that they are a goofing up of reality (which, i have a whole long rant on why more recent cartoons are not of the same quality as the older cartoons of long-before-me). maybe try focusing on general shapes before moving on to details? i kinda just throw things together and see how they fit in relation to each other, but apparently it's recommended to learning artists that we're supposed to dissect things and build a skeleton of sorts. (i've never actually been able to get the skeleton thing to work out right, but yeah xp ) it's supposed to go something like that. sweatdrop i posted somewhere else something along the lines of being aware of your influences, too. what appeals to you about them? try checking out a bunch of different styles. when your drawing, what's easiest and think about that in relation to the cartoons you're most attracted to. doughnut can post stuff! she's really come a long way in her drawing. (so proud! whee ) NOW THAT I'VE TALKED WAAAAY TOO MUCH! (I miss the domo emoticon emo )

-Domoifies this post- O.e Hmm...the skeleton procedure...yes, yes....I don't have a clue what you're talking about. 030 I just draw. And now it's mainly Head and Shoulders (not the shampoo). I reeaaalllly want to post the ones I did well on, and use the first post as a starter (Beny, don't you dare laugh or I'll get my friend Jodi. She slapped the taste out of someones mouth once...I'm not kidding. 0_0 Scariest s**t I've ever seen). Post! Post! Post Doughnut Post!! -Chants- xDDD Now that I'm not half-dead-half-night-drunk (I don't drink, that's just a saying) and I read what was happening...you guys went to a brewery before? xD You didn't get like three packs of wine or anything, right? My mom gets at least four. e.e -Spaces out again and starts doodling- @_@

OOOOH! Where you get domo!?!??!?! eek
Eh, the skeleton bit you will find in most art classes and how to draw books, but like I said, I've never been able to get it to work right. Buuuut, yeah! Post away, the both of you (AND OTHERS!!! *stares pointedly in slate's oblivious direction*).
Little sister, you cannot make do with camera? <.< I more or less learned the same way doughnut did. My first non-doodly attempts were of Sailor Moon stuffs. It was terrible. burning_eyes
*prepares lots of grrness toward any mean people that may be thinking about amusing themselves like that* stare
We did not drink as we were very young, though we probably wouldn't have been inclined to even if we had been legal at the time. We just went on the tour with the rest of family (since that's what you do on vacation). They gave us lemonade at the end. It was pretty good.

yeah, wouldn't know what the art class's teach. never attended a day of one in my life (aside from elementary school but all they did was hand us a piece of paper and say "here you go!!! free draw time!!! don't forget to cut straight and color inside the lines!!!") yeah not too productive.
that was a fun trip, i think my favorite was the duck in that circus...
oh and, meh i like the scanner over the camera.
