It's just after normal business hours, when all the mortal patrons of DeSalvo's have gone home. It's not that Etienne is paranoid or anything, but these kinds of workouts tend to go better when the mundanes are away.
Going on Methos' suggestion, he's the first one to arrive at the gym. Naturally, Phoenix was invited in case she wanted to learn anything new. Veronica was also welcome to come along too...she could meet some of the other Seacouver Immortals...that and give Etienne a reason to wear his old New Orleans Saints muscle shirt in front of an audience.
At any rate, Etienne is off to the side of the training mat, stretching as he waits for the others to arrive.

Methos strolled lazily out of the lift, pretty sure the buzz he felt half-way down was his former student, now calling himself Etienne. The casual air of the old Immortal was deceptive. Until he saw his friend, he remained on high alert.

She'd gotten lost twice, which truthfully wasn't all that bad for her, course the first time was just because she had been distracted by her phone, that was now glued to her ear as she parked. Exiting her rusty truck she kept rambling on in french as she slammed the door maybe harder than she needed and made her way for the building, mentally going over where in the place she was suppose to go.

It must be a testament to Etienne's evolvng maturity that he doesn't do something stupid like lay in wait beside the lift or something. Then again, if its Adam coming to the gym, it's nothing he hasn't been subjected to before...or done to someone else.
Anyway, as the buzz hits and the lift makes it to the gym level, Etienne moves towards the doors for a more proper greeting. "Hey there." He grins. "Glad you could make it...been too long since we've done this kind of thing."
As a second buzz hits, he moves to go peek out the window. Better safe than sorry and all that. The sight provokes a laugh. "You always end up with the most eclectic students...must be some kind of old world curse."

"Never a dull moment, curse the luck," Methos groused. He was dressed in a pair of soft grey sweat pants and a black "muscle" t-shirt, his feet bare and his broadsword held loosely in his hand.

Seeing Phoenix cursing in french to her phone was nothing given even the short seconds Etienne watched she threw her phone down and went to stomp on it, followed by jumping up and down on the poor device a few times. With that done she pulled herself together a bit better before entering the building and lift to make her way to them. By the time she honestly was waiting for the lift to decend she was feeling a bit silly, but tried to justify her actions, she had needed a new phone.

Personally Veronica would say she had perfect timing, having had to wait for the lift as she had showed up shortly after Adam, but before Phoenix. Which put her directly in the young woman's path since it seemed she also needed to the lift. Honestly she was hoping she wasn't making an error by not being more defensive as all she did was smile towards the woman. After all Etienne had said there would be friends of his showing up, that was the point, and it would be rude to pull weapons on his friends.
"Did the phone do something against you?"

Phoenix paused some distance away, most likely as soon as she saw the woman, a woman she did not know, in her way, near her. On the bright side the woman didn't have a sword in hand, Phoenix did, right quickly, as soon as she realized there was someone closer than she had figured. But then she errored more on the side of caution and being parinoid when it came to people she didn't know. Still the question made her blink, that had the be one of the odder first lines she had heard directed to her. "Umm, no, who are you?"

Really that only left her to smile a bit more at the answer slash question, holding her hands out in some offering of peace, the girl was a jumpy thing, not that Veronica would hold that against her of course.
She answered none the less, with very little pause and some amusement to dance in her tone, "Veronica Estates, friend of Etienne, as am I hoping you are." And if not and the girl showed confusing upon the name well she wouldn't be offered as much peace anymore.

There was a blink on that, the whole holding out her hands thing, who did that really? Shaking her head she didn't put away her sword yet, but relaxed a touch as she nodded. "Yeah." So she jumpped when the lift stopped at the floor, that only made her glare towards the contraption. "No offense, you first." Because untill someone confirmed that this lady, Veronica, was indeed known of and friendly she was keeping her sword out.

Which she was guessing was to be expected, though she herself was a bit more trusting, not that she hadn't had people use that against her of course, but no need to treat everyone as a leper.
"If you wish." Her words still sounded amused, she couldn't help it, she had a paper thin, maybe 20 year old looking girl afraid of her, and she hadn't done anything remotely violent like.
With a shake of her head, mostly to try to keep from laughing she turned and opened the lift before stepping in, going to a back corner as to leave the girl more room and again try to point out she wasn't a threat.

Really the woman's amusment about made Phoenix want to hit her, how was she at all being amusing? Didn't question it though, maybe the woman was metally ill. Entering the lift Phoenix only paused a moment before sighing and glancing at Veronica a moment before finally sheathing the sword, needed to close the gates after all. Then got them on their way up, more than a little tense and all to happy when they reached the right floor to quickly exit the lift, all to happy to see Adam. "People need to warn me when there's strange women waiting around you know." Her words cut more towards Etienne of course since it was supposidly his fault.

"Veronica isn't strange, cherie," Etienne responds with a laugh, "As a matter of fact, she is one of my favorite new people."
A beat as he lets the two women step off the lift. A moment's thought reminds Etienne that Methos usually isn't fond of surprise guests either, so he figures proper introductions are in order. "OK OK, everyone this is Veronica...met her on Saturday and we hit it off. She's new in town and figured she might like to meet some people."
The two of you were joking about Etienne needing to meet more women, so you deserve this. "Veronica, this is Adam...we go back a ways, if you catch my meaning. And your elevator buddy is his latest student Phoenix."
He grins innocently. "Glad y'all could come."

"I'll agree with my not being strange." Was Veronica's first comment to make as she glanced around the room a moment before flashing a smile for Etienne, had to at his words. "Always glad to be considered a favorite person, gives me a warm fuzzy feeling."
Still had to glance at the girl, Phoenix as she was now identified, oddly her name suit her, what with that hair color and apparently attitude. "Nice to meet you both I'm sure."

[OOC: For future reference, the dojo is on the ground floor of DeSalvo's. The lift is inside the building, and is used to access the upper floors. Adam used it because he was upstairs in MacLeod's loft when Etienne arrived.]
Adam looked at Veronica with raised eyebrows, then shot Etienne A Look. "Veronica! This is a surprise."
His look plainly said how much he hated surprises.
