GuildmasterWell as I was talking to another guild member they asked me why we have a big summer picture for the main page. Although I like the Picture I want to bring in the masses so what do you think we should get for that? What kind of picture would You like? After everyone has their say we'll throw a poll up and see what wins. biggrin Ven-kun

I don't currently have any ideas for themes, but this is the closest thing to a 'suggestions' thread that I can find. I suggest that you make one... but that's not why I'm posting. I'm posting because of an issue I found in the Art sub-forum.
'Art' is a very broad term, so keep the content of this sub-forum confined only to original peices that are drawn, painted, sculpted, done in the artist's medium of choice. This means no dancing, singing, writing/poetry, etc. should really be allowed in there. I know these are all forms of 'art', but they're all very different from one another, and grouping them all together will make things cluttered and overly complicated. You'll also get the 'that's not really an art form' and 'this is what real art is' type topics, and that's just more drama then what's really nescisary. My suggestion to you? Start off by staiting in a rules sticky what is and isn't allowed. Then go and make a writers sub-forum, as that's probably going to be the next most needed. After that shoot for a preforming arts sub-forum.

After that shoot for a preforming arts sub-forum. Ok this is what I have to say to that. First Art is a way of Expressions, that mean Drama, Music, Drawing, and Poetry are all art forms, Even Dancing Singing and Martial arts are arts. Having one person define arts for everyone is not why I have this guild I have it for Everyone. I looked up "Art" in the Internet Dictionary Here are the results: Quote: 1. a person who produces works in any of the arts that are primarily subject to aesthetic criteria. 2. a person who practices one of the fine arts, esp. a painter or sculptor. 3. a person whose trade or profession requires a knowledge of design, drawing, painting, etc.: a commercial artist. 4. a person who works in one of the performing arts, as an actor, musician, or singer; a public performer: a mime artist; an artist of the dance. 5. a person whose work exhibits exceptional skill. 6. a person who is expert at trickery or deceit: He's an artist with cards. Guildmaster Having shown you that I think its safe to say that everything I have said thus far is true. If you would like the link Please Click here. Now with all that being said, why do you think this about other artists?
My father is a musician and I am a artist and by artist I mean drawing. Although my skills are not yet fully developed I have been told that if I were to school myself on it that I would become a great artist so if that is why I understand but its still no place tell people they can't be an artist.Ven-kun

I'm not trying to say that those things aren't art. I'm a dancer, an illustrator, and a musician, and I consider them all art. What I AM saying is that it will be a lot easier and organized to have seperate sub-forums for when your guild sarts to get a bit more popular. It will also help avoid discutions and acusations about things not being art, because there's people that will do so, and it gets ugly.

Guildmaster Ok that I can understand but then its our job as the leader and the guilds crew to deal with I highly dout it will ever be big enough that we wont be able to handle it as it stands most of the people in this guild are all my friends and have joined because I have asked them. Knowing that I know at least most of my friends wouldn't say that and if they did it could be delt with pretty easily.

True, true. Well, either way, you may want to put up a suggestions thread for things like this. It's also a great way to get feedback on how the guild's turning out.

Anytime I've made a thread/participated on that level in a guild, I've always just called it 'Suggestions' or 'Feedback', or even 'Tell us what you think'.
