You might just have a slow metabolism or something.

You're metabolism may just be slow, and it may not change until you get older. I know how you feel about benig made fun of for being overweight (I'm sure a lot of people here do) but I alwasy figured the people who make fun of you are the people with such a low self-esteem they have to make someone else feel bad so they can reassure themselves in their abilities to fit in.......thats my philosophy

When you say you eat pretty good what is it that you are eating? You may also want to try also healthy alternatives. Not everything works for everybody. Also make sure you are drinking enough water. 64oz. a day.

make sure not to drink soda, or anything else that has more than about 20 calories in it, or else that is just putting empty hard to burn off calories in your body....
also, I heard that eating spicy food helps your metabolism......and not eating after 7...which would suck, but I heard that helps alot too
good luck on loosing wieght heart

I know the dif between overweight, obesse and just plain freaky about some fat. correct me if I am wrong but I thought that was a good weight at 14. then like everyone else says you may have a slow metabolism. continue to eat well and excercise and resulots WILL SHOW. OR the worst part, and this is just a guess I am no doctor. YHOU may be diabetic. I found that out when I was about your age and I cannot find one diabetic that has the most difficulty either losing or gaining weight to get in the "healthy weight area" but then I have seen 14 year olds that are stick thin and barely 110 pounds.

This is easily the most helpful thing I've ever read on weight loss:
http://www.fourmilab.ch/hackdiet/www/hackdiet.html
If you're not losing weight, it simply means you're eating enough calories to make up for the ones you're burning during the day. If you want to lose weight, you simply need to eat FEWER calories than you burn. If you weigh 188, your BMR is somewhere around 2016 calories a day. (BMR=Basal Metabolism Rate, which is your weight x 10 plus your weight. For men it's their weight x 10 plus their weight x 2). So simply keep track of your calories and keep it under that, and you will lose weight. How quickly you lose weight depends on how big of a caloric deficit you have. It takes 3500 calories to gain/lose a pound--that means if you just have 1516 calories a day, you'll lose a pound a week. 1016 bumps you up to two pounds a week. Anything more than that isn't really healthy at all.
Of course, there could be medical conditions (someone mentioned diabetes) that could be a factor as well. If you're really concerned, you should ask a doctor, not some people on the internet. 3nodding

Another tip is to drink green tea. My mom has been losing weight because she loves tea, and has been drinking alot more lately. It has alot of health benifits. DO NOT drink the Lipton and Salada teas in most grocery stores. That taste like grass clippings. Try these sites for the green tea.

These are a few of the articles I've read about the subject. I hope this helps. http://www.health.harvard.edu/press_releases/benefit_of_drinking_green_tea.htm http://chinesefood.about.com/library/weekly/aa011400a.htm http://greentealovers.com/greenteahealthdietweightloss.htm#metabolism
