Since I just finished up this semester and got grades back (a 4.0! eek ) I have time to be active in the guild, yay! So I was wondering what everyone is stitching for the holidays. What have you made as gifts for others? What have you asked for Christmas stitching-wise? Do you have any pieces you want to finish by the end of the year, or plan to start at the beginning of the next?
For me I haven't done any stitching for gifts this year. I know, shame on me redface Last year I did a piece for each of my grandmothers, some ornaments, and a piece for my mom's birthday in January, but this year I've been a slacker.
I don't think I am getting anything for Christmas, but with my Christmas money I am ordering a stand. I'm not sure which I'll get yet if anyone has any suggestions... blaugh
By the end of the year I hope to finish my current project, Ballet Pigs, and start on the Wizard of Oz (both by Heaven and Earth Designs).
Ok, your turn!

I want so much to be done with Kurama by the New Year... My next big project is really, really big. Like... huge. I'll probably give up 10% of the way though.
For a smallish project I made a pattern of my sister's name and her husband's in holiday font, but I don't know if I should devote that much attention to something I know they probably won't really want.
I need another craft organizer for Christmas. I don't see how two are enough... Somebody should design one that can hold at least one bobbin of every color in the DMC chart, along with the floss guide book, pincushions, and a special slots for colors currently being used, accessories, and projects. I think it would be the size of a suitcase. rofl

Thanks for the congratulations Kairi! I have been a beaming idiot about it ever since I got my grades back lol. And don't you just love it when you can tell how much someone loves something you stitched for them, it's one of the greatest feelings because you know they will just treasure it.
Oh man Scribbler, I know what you mean, my next project is 36 pages long and has 133,875 stitches in it eek I'll be lucky if I finish it in this lifetime lol. But it'll look great when it's done, and I'm sure yours will too!
And I know what you mean about your sister and brother-in-law not getting excited about it. I stitched my dad a Celtic 'N' (for our last name) for his birthday two years ago and he was pretty underwhelmed and brushed it off even though it took me ages to do since it had so many color changes and backstitching. From now on I only stitch for people who I know will appreciate it because that was a pretty lousy feeling.
Oh man, if you find a craft organizer like that one, let me know! lol I have this seven drawer tower organizer thingy (that's the technical name I'm sure wink ) that I keep all my stuff in. I have one drawer for kits, one for magazine and notebooks full of patterns, one for cloth, one for hoops/ frames, one for accessories, and one for my bobbin boxes. Not very portable lol. I'm thinking of getting a totebag though to hold everything for a particular project. That way I can have one project all ready to go, have one bobbin box with the floss I need, then my highlighters, scissors, pattern, and the piece itself. Let me know what you end up getting if you find anything close enough. I know that Joann's carries tons of stuff like that.
