Trace walked into the room, remembering overhearing a conversation of the new music room being finished, and finally finding his way around. Realizing he hadn't played any instrument since running away at age 8, he wondered if he could still play at all. "Well, this is as good a place as any to find out," he mumbled to himself, and walked up to the wall, and felt his way along the wall until he came upon a counter. a voice behind the counter asked, "Name, class, instrument?" Trace replied, without missing a beat, "Trace Oglesby, Death, either trumpet or violin, whichever you have." he kept his hands on the counter until two boxes were placed on top of them. "Ow." he said, as the voice behind the counter mumbled a two-bit apology. He picked up the two cases, one holding a trumpet, the other a violin. Trace took a seat near the back of the room and wondered to himself, "Now, which of you should I try first?"

Trace opened the violin case, and felt around. "No strings, eh?" he muttered, dissapointed. "And I'm guessing that you have no mouthpiece?" he directed at the trumpet. Upon opening the case, he found this to be false. "I guess it's you first," he said, and put the cold metal to his mouth. "Let's see how rusty I've gotten..." and began to play.

"You play well."Rivera said, walking in. She smiled, she looked down. He seemed so ghastly.

"Thanks," Trace said. "I played for the first six years of my life... But, that was a long time ago. I'm glad that I haven't lost it." He looked at the girl. "Do you play anything?" He asked.

"The flute and the piano."she said, grabbing a flute. She played a soft tune, and then turned to a beat boxing. She stopped to laugh, and brushed her brown hair from her eyes.

"Cool," Trace said, and smiled. He put down his trumpet back in the case, removing the mouthpiece, and picked up the violin. "Still needs strings," He said, standing up and walking to the counter. "Do you have one with strings?" he asked, and put the violin case on the counter. He put his hand out, expecting a new violin. Instead, he got a handful of violin strings. "Oh, thanks," He replied sarcastically. He went back to his seat, and re-opened his case, and began attempting to put the strings on, which quickly went from fumbling in frustration to giving up. "It might help if I could see what I was doing," Trace said, laughing. He looked up at Rivera and smiled.

"Oh, you're blind..."she said, and took the strings. She attached them softly, and tuned the violin. "Try now. Where's the bow stick thingy?"she asked, looking around. She found it at her feet. She rolled her eyes, and let out a soft giggle. "Here."she said, handing it to his open hand. Rivera found a stringed cello, and sat down on one of the chairs, making sure her back was straight. She started a soft tune.

Trace laughed lightly. "No, I was just wearing this blindfold because I was at a birthday part earlier," He said in a tone sarcastic, but funny and not really mean. He pulled the bow up, about to play, then hesitated. "It's been a few years, excuse me if it sounds like a dying animal." He said, then began to play. The first few notes were hideous noises, screeching mess. He stopped, and chuckled. "Like I said. It's been a while." Then he played again. Instead of the mess he played last time, he played beautifully, perfectly accompanying her first tune.

She smiled. "Wanna play together?"she said, flipping through a music book. "I'm not sure how you'll be able to see the notes, but."Rivera sighed, giving up. "Have an idea for a song to play?"she asked, and began to play the cello in a sort of jazzy tune. She made it spin, and laughed. Who didn't like music?

"Oh, you want to play jazz?" Trace asked, laughing. He hauled his trumpet case into his lap, and laughed. "You got it," He said, and opened his case, slapped his mouthpiece in, and immediately blasted out a Triple C. "Whoops," he said, and rubbed his lip, which had split and was beginning to bleed. "Crap..."

She looked around, and found a small handkerchief, which she placed to his lips, to stop the bleeding. "You gotta be more careful when you hit a Triple C."she said calmly, but soon dropped the cloth when she heard the news. She stepped back, petrified. "Oh,"she said, picking it back up again. "School of Storm."Rivera repeated, and dabbed the boy's lip again.

"Lucky you, you get to go around causing tornadoes and striking people with lightning. Regular 'Wrath of God' type stuff." He said, smiling. He took he handkerchief off his lip, and gave it back to her. He untied his blindfold, and used that instead, covering his eyes with his other arm. "What do you think I carry this thing around for?" He said, then: "Other than the fact that it looks cool." He laughed.

"So that you don't see nightmares?"she asked, shrugging. She hadn't really heard his school, but most kids received nightmares. She looked away, tornadoes and lightning? Earthquakes and tsunamis? She shook her head, she wasn't so feisty, was she?

Ronaldo walked in smoothly, picking up a guitar. He sat down and began to tune it up.
