I know this isn't a dating site...but I'm lonely and figure what better place to find fellow lonely rivetheads.
So...I figure this could be kind of a personals thread...
I am a single, white (pale), male, insane as ******** rivethead. I'm alone and bored!
My favorite bands are Psyclon Nine, Combichrist, Velvet Acid Christ, Unter Null, and :wumpscut: but I like a lot more...
lol, let's see if this thread goes anywhere...

If you're lookin for a friend I will totally add you on Facebook, I check that every day. I mean I've talked to you on Gaia enough that I don't mind addin ya on an IRL type social networking site.
As for the whole single/lonely deal.... best of luck. I'm single, but the whole internet dating thing..... just no. Not my thing.
But just a warning. I am a raver. Please don't hate. I like to think I'm not a ******** like some people who call themselves ravers.

Well for some people it works. At one point I had a long distance relationship that lasted for a few months. I knew him in real life he had been my friend for years. But he lived in Arizona so we could only really talk online. It ended for a lot of reasons. He's straight edge, I'm not, it's complicated, and we were goin different directions. So yeah after that I just don't do it, it was hard. I'm not lookin for that again. At least not right off the bat.
It can work, but it's hard. That's basically what I'm tryin to say.

I don't think I could ever be in an internet or long distance relationship. I have a hard enough time with regular ones, I'm just not much of a relationship kind of person. So internet relationships confuse the hell out of me.

Now that I think about it internet dating is totally cyberpunk...
But yeah, anyone can add me on Facebook. Michael Wallman my profile pic is a picture of Vladimir Putin

@Digital Malevolence: Yeah, it definitely takes a certain kind of strength and understanding between two people for long distance to work out. And yeah, real relationships are hard work in the first place so making it long distance.... it's a lot of bullshit that most people don't need, which is why most people don't keep up those relationships very long.
@Son of No Man: Internet dating is totally cyberpunk. But then that also comes with all sorts of cyber-erotic toys and complicated sex machines and all that kinky jazz that really isn't a realm that has much been explored yet. Granted they have made some scientific advances in the area but the subject is much too taboo to actually get enough funding to reach the full potential that modern science could afford.
Sorry, I'm gettin all technical n s**t lol. But yeah I added you on facebook. Only your picture does not appear to be Putin. It looks more like you wearing a white breather mask. lol

That picture literally got changed last night/this morning.
Also, thanks for the add.
Oh, also, I rave too, I'm just into the older scene, not the new group of poseurs running around. I hate house music. I like the 90s stuff: Lords of Acid, Juno Reactor, Prodigy, Orbital, Paul Oakenfold, Van Dyk, Armin Van Burren, Alice Deejay, Moby, etc.

Lol. I love the old scene, that's like... what brought me in to the scene. I seriously am in love with all of the artists you just named. I love phat pants, care bears, most of the old school styles and music n stuff. It's really what got me attracted to the rave scene.
As for the new stuff... I love Deadmau5, I like house, I like electro, hardstyle, etc... and some of the other newer gigs, but what I really love is dubstep (the grimier the better) and the whole desert scene. <3 Burners are awesome! ^-^

LOL I remember saying something about starting a rivet-singles thread back over on Khaos A.I. (another guild, which now seems dead).
I have tried internet dating, it hasn't worked out...but i thought it might be a good idea, because theoretically, your odds of meeting someone that matches what you want are increased, because you are exposed to a greater range of people than you could normally meet in your daily life. The problem comes from the fact alot of them are single for a reason! hahaha
Oh, also, Stangeness, if you want to add me on facebook, I am on Son Of No Man's Friendlist there, my name is Rocky, and right now my pic is Jesus holding a Winchester rifle (lol lately people been saying i look like jesus)

You have a very good point about internet dating. And another thing about it is that often people don't use internet dating to meet people because they're looking for someone who's "the one". They're using internet dating because they're looking for ANYONE AT ALL. Most of the time people get desperate so they turn to the internet.
Also, lots of people will use the computer as a way of hiding their crappy social skills. But when you meet up in person, the skills either magically appear or they don't it's like a 50/50 chance. =/
Okies I added you on facebook. ;D This is my profile pic:

Also, only reason i would consider online dating is because I'm really picky and there is no real industrial scene out here. So the only way I'd end up meeting women I could possibly see a future with is mainly online... It's not cause I'm desperate. I'm 18, I have another 20 years before I start getting desperate. And in any relationship I get into it's almost always someone I could see myself with for a long time. I never date for short term. Oh, and Rocky can attest for my social skills, lol.

@Son of No Man: I hope you didn't think I was talking about you! D: I promise, I wasn't. I understand your situation and I agree online dating probably is your best option of finding someone. It sucks that there's not much of a scene out there, that's too bad. There is a scene here in San Diego, a pretty decent one, but filled with elitists, assholes, and a lot of drama. Plus I'm not 21 so they think I'm a ptot anyway lol.

Age is a problem out there? I had a guy who was working on his masters ask me if I would possibly go for an interview about why people are drawn to the industrial/goth scene (didn't happen for one reason or another). I'm only 18. I figure if you have the passion age shouldn't be an issue.

Ok, I'm about to go on a major rant.
Age is a MAJOR problem out here. I know a few older rivitheads that I'm chill with, but that's only because they know me. Out of habit if those same people saw a group of kids my age that dress like me they'd probably keep to themselves. It's just that there are so many little baby bats around here that just want to party and look good. Some of them are for real, most of them aren't.
The crew that go to Sabbat (the main local goth club night) tend to like all know eachother. And Sabbat is 21+. And it is that for a reason.
There used to be an 18+ club night called Ascension, but all the Sabbat people kept their noses clean of that one because they didn't like that it was a bunch of little raver kids that didn't know s**t about s**t.
I personally think they just don't give people enough of a chance and they're just being elitist assholes. That isn't to say that there weren't a lot of ******** ******** up the scene. Just that hey, maybe they wouldn't act so dumb if they had someone to introduce them to good s**t huh?
