So, San Diego's first ever anime convention is just around the corner.
Who's planning on going?
Should we group cosplay for it?

I'm down.
If the teams are ready with the cosplays by the time conji comes around that would be the perfect convention to get a crash course feel for how the group is, and what kind of response we'll get.
3nodding We'd need to get on top of picking cosplays, getting team 1 and 2 some members and setting up meet ups though, hopefully we can do it all in time.

When is May? (not good with my months either) sweatdrop is it like in 3 months? because if it is I think I can just give up Fanime (in like 2 months) and go there instead. LOL yes Im bad with directions and with my Months LOL I am the whole package.

But yeah, I was thinking that if we don't have a lot of members by then, we could do an entire group cosplay. Or....I dunno.
Also, should we try to do the masquerade?
It's a really small con (attendance is capped at 500), so we might even have a chance at winning one of the categories.
But yeah....
Haha. No, we definitely haven't had a lot of chat time.

I'll be going, but probably only the 10th and 11th because I'm not sure if going to a con is a viable excuse for skipping school XDD
I know some of the people who are in the maid cafe that will be there, and I'm acquainted with a few of the people on the staff (although they probably don't remember me : p )

Eck that's even less time. x.x Ah well the group always cosplays together, the teams are just to get ready for the group cosplay in seperate locations. I know quite a few good cosplayers I've contacted voiced that they'll be joining yours and dreamlights team after issue's like updated photo's, and broken ankles are resolved. I'll still continue privately PMing anyone in the guild I know who's located near your area. Well the masquerade skit thread so far has made really one other suggestion that isn't one of mine.. And that one wasn't even for the group but someone's individual masq skit. XD;;; We could do something simple and similar to that stand up ninja at ALA. Different jokes of course. But I'm almost done with my GLADoS which involves me sitting upright on top of a 5 ft tall mobile structure decorated with wires and t.v's around it, in the outfit on the right http://cache.kotaku.com/assets/resources/2008/04/glados_bondage.jpgWhile attached to my feet is the dangling upside down outfit on the left, which makes it look like a mirror reflection kind of effect. I was thinking for upcoming not big cons like ax and cc, if I could find a chell and maybe a companion cube we could do sort of like funny anime referencing joke's, or even the portal game referencing jokes. And in the end anyone and everyone in the group as long as their dressed up could come out for one of those para para random dances you all love so much. XD I've been good, working my booty off to get my individual cosplay's done before I tackle any group cosplays. ;3;

Yeah, not much time.
Which is why I need to hurry up and stop procrastinating.
I've got two cosplays I want to finish before then. xp
As for the masquerade, I don't really have any ideas.
The only idea I did have was a Star Wars skit, and it's kinda lame.
But once we have our group cosplays nailed down, I'll try to write something.
Geez, that's an insane cosplay.
I don't think I could ever do anything like that.

If we're group cosplaying for it, I think you'll have to count me out ]:
The entire month of march is going to be hell for me, so I won't have any time to start constructing.
I will cosplay though, since I alread have some costumes - just not from any of our decided series.

It's all right if you kids can''t gather up people for a group cosplay. I think your outfits would be awesome anyway.
Talk about procrastination... I am just now getting the materials for may daughter's cosplay. We don't have time to get my husband and I's cosplay done before our own con but... if it comes out well enough, maybe I'll work on it for ALA next year. Since my daughter is small, (she's 6 and a half months now) I can probably hammer out her costume in between wokring for the con and going to class and ther other 90 billion obligations I have (not including taking care of the wee bit.) ANyway... good luck and see you at con!

If you'd like, you can rent a room for the night and throw a party. We'd like more parties at the convention, and the room rate right now is $109. (Sounds like a lot, but get ten people together to put in ten bucks and tada.)
