Ok, new player to 4E.
What's the hardest to beat down tank class? highest AC, most hit points, extra.

Goliath. I'll get to them soon enough.
Do note though, that any race can be any class. However, some races are more suited for one particular kind of role than others. A goliath is a strong, heavy creature, best suited for really close combat shield and sword kind of attacking. If you prefer to be a spellcaster or a ranger, though, perhaps being something other than a giant on the field is a better idea.

Ok, took a look at the books, and I have two questions right now. In order.
1: Are we gonna use point buy, elite array, or roll for out stats? If you want I can put up a topic for nothing but rolling the stats for character creation. I personally think I'd like that more.
2: whats the rule on starting equipment? Do we get preset gear, or gold to buy what we can, something in between?

Ok, I'm looking at doing a Paladin Defender, but I've had a few of the other classes cross my mind.
If anyone wants the defender (It is, as near as I can tell, the easiest role to build.) tell me here, and it's yours. I'll move to a different concept.

Alright, I'm kind of stuck between choosing a wizard and a cleric. I really want to start up, but I think I need a better idea of the group set up as it stands.

You and everyone else.
If everyone keeps saying "I'm waiting to see what everyone else is doing", i will be assigning your roles. As a GM, that's my line, because my PC has to be last in the making.

Alright, definitively I am cleric. Hear me roar! Or... erm... heal!
I'll have everything worked out tomorrow. Work kept me longer than I wanted and I have class in six hours.

I was actually thinking about playing a Dwarf Cleric of Moradin. Quick question, when you said that I should add the e-mail on the D&D Info post, was that too an instant messaging client or to a mailing list? I'm sorry for having to ask. I'll be rolling my stats soon.

It's not listed under Races, but wondering if the Shadar-kai (Dragon #372) would be allowed as an acceptable race?

Hyper evil raven Queen kin? that what you want?
They are in the 4e, btw...
Shadar-kai Average Height: 5 7˝ – 6 0˝ Average Weight: 130–170 lb. Ability Scores: +2 Dexterity, +2 Intelligence Size: Medium Speed: 6 squares Vision: Low-light Languages: Common Skill Bonuses: +2 Acrobatics, +2 Stealth
Winterkin: Due to your connection to the Raven Queen, you gain a +1 bonus to Fortitude defense.
Shadow Jaunt: You can use shadow jaunt as an encounter power.
Shadow Jaunt Shadar-kai Racial Power You step into the shadows and reappear a short distance away, hazy and insubstantial. Encounter ✦ Teleportation Move Action Personal Effect: You teleport 3 squares and become insubstantial until the start of your next turn.
I may let them, but you'll have to give me quite a bit of reason to do so.
