As the last fires in the Great Hall were extinguished, Animus Spiritus was officially over. The gibbous moon hovered lazily above the horizon, content in its own nightly journey across the sky. For a second, Illuser paused and gazed thoughtfully at the silver sliver, his golden eyes glimmering in the semi-darkness . I wonder if anyone has tried to eat the moon. He then chuckled at his own foolish thought, shook his head, and continued his walk. Even if the moon could be reached, surely it would contain enough spiritual particles to nourish a whole clan for decades – to take so much energy alone would be foolish and suicidal. Nevertheless, Illuser had to admit that the thought was tempting – as any adult Cor, he was tempted by power and his hands itched at the thought of transforming the moon into a thari – his thari. But he was not foolish, and only fools would fall to such temptations.
Nevertheless… it was a nice thought.
His clawed feet clicked gently against the pebble-stone surface of the paths strewn throughout the Academy, making a rhythmic ‘tap, tap, tap’ sound as he made his way towards the Training Grounds. The night breeze caressed his wings and tempted the sin-aeon, beckoning to him with its soft touch to join it in the sky. “Oh the things we miss out on when are have responsibilities,” Illuser mumbled woefully to no one in particular as he drew his hand through the air, catching the breeze for a second and then sending it along its way. He sighed in its wake, “Go bother someone else for a change.” To be honest, he much preferred the company of the breezes than the company of those he was about to face, but he was bound by his oath to the Academy to serve the whims of those above him. His hands flexed at the thought of having to deal with those annoying first year brats – children, bah. He preferred teaching level 3’s, and only level 3’s. Aeons just had so many questions, sometimes, and they jumped at every, little thing that they learned. Some of his co-workers considered this cute, but Illuser disagreed.
Nevertheless, he had no choice in the matter. After all, it was his turn on the roster to greet some of the new students. The school had been closed for the festivals, so there was bound to be more of those whelps around.
Hoorah.
Evidently, none of them knew how to show up on time either. His face was a mask of displeasure as he strolled into empty Training Grounds. He had made sure that his messages were delivered almost a week ago, since he knew that the task masters tended to have a problem with getting messages out on time. They were sent to all of the first year students who have not been checked-in with the Academy yet, with a short personal message from him and then instructions for them to meet him this night at the center of the Training Grounds. Irritated by the new students' apparently inability to follow instructions, Illuser propped himself against one of the many fences dividing the separate courts used for different training exercises and waited.

Ike yawned, rubbing at his eyes. Why oh why had this instructor called for a meeting at this hour? He should be in bed, asleep! Not floating about the Academy in the dark, trying to remember the way to the Training Grounds (rather unsuccessfully). Another yawn and the blue-haired Aeon glanced about, floating in one place. Now.... the Training Grounds had been... oh yeah, that way! The moon cast a bit of light upon the ground, enough to find a few of the landmarks the boy had used before. The twisted tree, that large rock, and others that let the Aeon find his way to the Training Grounds.
As the Aeon's destination came into view, he floated faster and faster towards it. He was already late! The teacher was sure to be unhappy about that. No sense in being even later! He didn't want to miss too much, after all. Not that Ike suspected they'd be doing much tonight. Probably just going over rules and boring stuff like that that would put him right to sleep even if it was midday!
Panting, Ike glided into the Training Grounds and looked around. There... was no one here. Had he gotten the date wrong?! Was it tomorrow night? Was it last night?!? The Aeon was about to leave when something caught his eye. Just a slight movement. Somewhere around the middle of the grounds. Deciding on a closer look, Ike floated towards Illuser to investigate.

How long had he been waiting in this room? Surely no more then twenty minutes have been spent in the quite serenity of the vacant training hall, musing over the poetic beauty of the moon and the festival that he had been forced to miss. No, saying he had been forced to miss the festival would have been incorrect. He had chosen not to participate in favor of doing research on what this first training meeting would entail as well as the man who would be serving as his teacher. It had been unfortunate yes, but necessary to ensure that he would quickly shoot to the top of his class.
The arrival of Illuser had been less then elegant in Reiss's mind. The larger Cor's face distorted into an ugly face as he was led to believe that he was alone in the Training room. From the shadows the small teal colored aeon watched with a similarly displeased expression - the only visible part of the youth being the gray eyes that glowed like the moon whose color they resembled.
It truly was an amazing thing - how successfully one could manage hide themselves if they truly wished to be hidden. As the time went on Reiss found it becoming a bit of a game. How long will it take for the other male to realize that he was not the only being in the room? The small male began waging small bets against himself. Two to five minutes seemed to be the most prominent so he decided to go with that. If the other did find him by that time then he would announce his presence and forever hold a kind of superiority of the other.
The arrival of the second aeon was even less elegant than that of their teachers. How disgusting that the other male had the nerve to show up out of breath and late. What had he been thinking? Didn't he know that first impressions were everything when one was meeting their potential guide? If he had not been trying to prove himself superior over the teacher he probably would have snorted in distaste and said something along the lines of 'There is no room for tardiness on a hunt, nor is there room for it in training.'

Oh no, no, no... she didn't want to be late! How could this have happened? Her purple eyes turned to the side to look at her hair in an accusatory manner as though it were all the fault of the locks that were hanging down her back. It was their fault, not question about it, she had wanted nothing more then to get her hair under control so that it would be out of the way for... whatever it was that they were going to be doing tonight. To deal with her hair had taken far more time then she'd been expecting though it would appear. Brushing, dividing it up into three even sections, then braiding all together into one neat braid that went down her back, tied at the end with a ribbon that itself fell passed where her corporeal form ended. From there she had picked out a couple of accessories to clip into her hair, a bracelet, a pretty necklace... and then she'd noticed the time was far passed when she had been planning to head out.
"I should cut you right off." She told her hair in a hushed though scolding tone, not that it would ever happen, she loved her hair far to much to considered seriously even cutting off any of it but the damaged ends. She was rushing along forward toward the training grounds and had to pause for a moment to get her barrings, trying to recall exactly where it was that she was supposed to be heading, then drifted from side to side before turning to head in the direction that she decided was the right way. The speed she was going at had her long braid flowing and waving behind her like a dark purple colored flag and there was a light rattling of her jewelry as she hurried along.
For a moment she was beginning to think that she had taken a wrong turn which would have been nothing more then embarrassing when she spotted not one, but two others around her age, and not far from them someone older who was quite... handsome. The girl seemed to perk up visibly, worry over being so late forgotten, as she gazed at the one who had called them there and her cheeks colored lightly, a smile showing on her lips. Wow, maybe this late night training wouldn't be so bad Violet thought to herself as she came over to float near to the other student that she saw, giving Ike a long glance. He had pretty, blue toned hair, nicely colored eyes, and his markings were almost looked like little hearts to her! How cute!
After a while more of studying, sizing up and memorizing the features of her fellow student Violet was back to starring at the teacher, unblinking.

As the students began to drift in towards the designated meeting place, Illuser pushed himself off the fence and moved forward to greet them. Briefly, his golden orbs flickered to where silver ones hung about and he couldn't help but wonder if the young Cor realized that as an older Cor he could sense the Thari of other living beings to an extent and therefore could tell that he had not been alone but the fact that the new student had chosen to not make themselves known still meant that they were, in fact, late. Besides, hiding on the outskirts of the Training Ground was not technically in the Training Ground, which was where the meeting was to be held and so he had actually been quite alone within the Training Ground itself. The hint of a smirk lifted a corner of his lips as he continued his saunter towards the new trainees and a nickname for the hiding one came to mind.
Admittedly Illuser did not particularly want to teach the newcomers nor did he enjoy the process, but if he was going to do it at the least he would do it well. With one last stretch of his wings he settled into an authoritative stance and glanced at the floating beings in front of him. A barely audible sigh escaped his lips before he followed it quickly with a greeting. "Welcome to the Academy. My name is Illuser and I'm here to answer your questions." One last flicker of his eyes towards where he could sense the other level one before he gestured with a long fingered hand towards the newcomer closest to him, "How about you introduce yourselves, starting with you?"
Mentally the older Cor resolved himself to coming up with their nicknames by the time they had finished introducing themselves to him. The corners of his lips turned from nearly there smirk to a smile at the thought, though most might have mistaken it for a pleasant and friendly smile of greeting instead of the smile of pleasure at developing something silly or unpleasing to call each of the level ones. When they were older and more powerful he would call them by their proper names. Maybe. If they were lucky.
Illuser did not verbally invite the hiding Cor, instead allowing the slacker to decide when they would join the party - if they would at all. He couldn't force the Aeons to attend the training. Well, he could, but he didn't think accidentally killing one of them would be wise if he got a little too excited about punishing them.

Ike had managed to catch his breath while waiting for their instructor to start. The boy frowned a bit. Was there only one other new student? That didn't seem right. And why call a meeting like this for two whole students? Perhaps the others were running even later? Or had forgotten?
Those thoughts were shoved aside as Illuser started towards him and the other Aeon. Ike had noticed that she was a girl, with long hair and markings under her eyes and on her arms. Other than that, he'd not bothered learning much more about her. Though, it seemed their teacher wanted them to introduce themselves starting with...
"Me?" The boy blinked and then gave a bit of a shrug. Well, okay. "My name's Ike and... when do we start fighting stuff? Do we get weapons? I want a big sword! Like knights have."
The boy grinned, looking up at Illuser for answers. It would be so cool if they got weapons tonight and could start battling! He wanted to fight and wanted to fight now!

Scoffing silently in distaste as what he assumed to be the last member of their small group made her appearance in a disgusting display of embarrassed silence, Reiss took a moment to examine the others now present, taking in their faces and the unique markings that ran over their bodies with a firm and unwavering eye. Later on, when the introductions had been completed he would label them each and file their information into his mind. Not that he believed that any of them to truly be worthy of his time, save perhaps for the instructor. Though judging from the larger males posture he did not seem to keen to be in the presence of the younger generation - he would have been the same if he had been in his position, Reiss noted dryly.
Gold met silver in a brief exchange of glances, and it dawned upon him that perhaps he had not gone unnoticed by the older Cor. There was a brief flash of disappointment in knowing that his little game had been ruined, but it quickly waned into an expression of annoyance as the female of their group began to eye the males with that hungry look - the kind of look a woman takes when they are searching for potential mates. Did she not realize that now was not the time or place for such a thing? 'If she begins to flirt, things could become rather amusing...' He though to himself with a smirk.
Not that the expression lasted long. The sheer stupidity of the other male Aeon's questions caused him to scowl yet again. Does this idiot not know anything at all? In order to wield a weapon one must first be trained in its proper handling and uses. No competent instructor would simply hand his students a weapon without teaching the necessary basics such as footing, posture and breathing - not that the former of the three was really required when they had no feet to begin with, he mused. The same could be said for sending an unprepared student into battle so soon into their instruction. The other was also far too small to wield a sword as massive as those wielded by the knights of legend. His small arms would not be able to hold the weapon up, let alone swing it with enough force to cause damage. All in all, Reiss found the other's questions to be completely pointless.
Slowly pulling himself from the shadows to come to float a few feet behind his classmates, Reiss cleared his throat in an attempt to draw the attention away from the over eager male and towards himself. When he was satisfied with the attention he took a quick glance around the room before speaking his own introduction. "I am called Reiss. Please refrain from calling me by any other title as you will find that I will not answer to it. I am here simply because this class is required of me, and have no intention or patience for unnecessary chatter." A brief glance in the direction on the female, as if challenging her to try and look at him as she had the other two males, before his eyes snapped to lock with the golden ones of their instructor. "I will not bother you with questions for now, as truly there is nothing I believe needs to be asked that will not be answered during our training." A nod and he once again moved back, allowing for the attention of the room to drift towards the last member of the younger generation.

Illuser, it was a nice name and one that she filed away for later use. She gave a smile as she listed to him talk, welcoming them to the academy and then telling them that he was here to answer their questions. At mentions of introductions she turned to look at the boy with the pretty eyes next to her and waited patiently to listen to what he was going to say about himself. It took only a moment for him to get right into it and into the questions and instantly Violet had to lifted a hand to smother a giggle as instantly he was asking about when they were going to start fighting, if he could have a weapon, and how he liked swords like what knights had.
Alright, so Ike was a definite warrior type she thought, filing the information for later if it were needed. She watched Ike since he was closest to her age in the group and as such she was completely shocked by the appearance of the third child, turning to look in that directions, eyes going wide as she looked him over. He was in some ways the same in appearance as Ike, they both had an appearance to them that look to be male, they shared a similar hair color, but from there things started to differ. The new boy, Reiss he called himself, had blue eyes instead of red, his markings were a lighter color of blue, and he didn't seem as friendly as Ike did if their tones were to be compared. He was a lot more talkative though despite saying that he didn't have the patience for chatter. It was something that caused her to giggle softly to herself, something she did her best to smother by lifting a hand to cover her mouth.
He wasn't as friendly as Ike was but somehow the prickly outer shell made him seem pretty cute himself, just the same as the rest of the group. Violet didn't have anything against other girls but standing here as the only female among a group of cute guys wasn't something that she would complain about any day.
Now that it was her turn all of her attention went back to Illuser and she gave a happy smile as she lifted a hand to rest it on her chest, "My name is Violet." She said, giving the older male her best smile, "Its nice to meet all of you and I look forward to any training we may do together... though I am not sure if I will be as good a fighter as the rest of you might be." She didn't like the idea of getting into hand to hand combat with people, boys especially, since it felt as though they might have the upper hand by being male. Not to mention she wasn't a fan of getting dirty which would be a likely risk if she would get into a close range battle with the other students.
Questions, questions, did she have anything that she wanted to ask of Illuser? Nothing sprang to mind other then her overwhelming desire to ask if she could pet his pretty tail... something she doubted would be a question that would be answered given the fact that this was a class related gathering, not a social gathering. A shame since his tail looked like it would soft!

A brief smile had flickered over Illuser's face at the excitement of the young Cor who introduced himself as Ike. Perhaps this would not be such a bad lesson, after all, for the Cor was hungry for power and ready to fight. He was certainly not ready to fight things, but at least he was willing. Eventually, Illuser thought, the Cor would prove to be a good Cor - power hungry, just like Illuser liked them.
"Not tonight, no weapons." Here the older Cor paused, letting that sink in before he allowed his teeth to show in an almost fierce smirk, "But eventually, yes." The golden eyes flickered over to the second young male Cor as he cleared his throat and his head tipped back in almost a scoff or a sneer - he knew the younger Cors would make of it what they would but it annoyed him the young one had thought to trick him when he was the boy's instructor and therefore held his fate in his hand...more or less. "Perhaps soon, though."
It amused Illuser just a little that this young male addressed him how he did - clearly he thought himself to be above things such as this class, or at least appeared to, and for a moment the older Cor seriously debated throwing him into the wilds just outside of the Sanctuary for a test of mettle. If the Cor didn't die the first night then he could puff up with self importance and pride, but not before. With a toothy smile, Illuser responded to the call for no nicknames, "I am your instructor. I will call you what I want and you will respond to it, or I'll leave you to your own devices." As soon as he had finished, his smile grew even wider - he had just come up with the perfect nickname for this one. Peacock.
The grin lasted until he looked at the third and final member of his entourage - decidedly a female by her actions. As her hand went to her chest in introduction a small ghost of the smile returned as his tail flicked ever so slightly in amusement. At least she was formal enough and not immature. That pleased him. Her concern over fighting and training didn't make him very happy though and his eyebrows pulled forward in a look of near consternation. Cors that didn't like to fight were a conundrum for him and he always found himself wondering if they would become Healers. While they were needed in the world of Thareon, it was still awkward working with and teaching the young ones.
The older male shook his head just barely at the thought, it was too soon to think such things about any of his students yet. In the next stage or two though he would be able to tell if any of them would be able and willing to move on to bigger and greater things. It did not escape Illuser's notice that the youthful girl kept glancing at his tail and it bothered him more than a little that not only did her attention bother him but that he could not get the tail to stop flicking back and forth idly, which was clearly only going to attract more attention. In an effort to distract from the tail that had grown its own mind, he stepped forward slightly and shook his head, "Today we will not be fighting." Golden eyes flickered to the each of the other pairs in the group before he added, "Nor will we be doing physical training today. That will come later. Today I am going to introduce you to the ways of the Academy and the world of Thareon. I'm not sure how long you each have been around Thareon, but in the Academy we do things a little differently than what your Clans back home may have done."
Illuser paused, to allow this to sink in for he knew not all Cors would have a Clan yet, some came to near the Academy, others came to with families. No one really knew how that worked, it just happened. Then he continued, "While in the Academy you will listen to your professors" his thoughts flashed to young Ciaran and with a bemused smile he added, "of all ages and sizes. They will be your parents for the time being and if you have any questions or problems, do not be afraid to come to them for help. While you are here we will teach you how to survive and how to collect soul orbs to improve upon yourselves."
One hand strayed to the horns he had added after collecting enough orbs as his tail danced in time to his words, "These orbs can impact your appearance, as well as your powers, so you will need to keep that in mind as you hunt."
His golden eyes nearly glowed as he looked back at each Cor, "Any questions so far?"

Ike blinked a bit as another boy appeared after he'd introduced himself. Where had he come from? And.... why did he seem like such an annoying know-it-all? Ike frowned at the other blue-haired boy. If they were actually in possession of an a**, he'd assume something was stuck up this other boy's.
His attention was pulled away as the girl introduced herself and then Illuser spoke once more. The boy pouted a bit when it was announced that there'd be no weapons tonight, but perked up again at the mention of eventually. There would be weapons at some point! He'd just have to hope it was sooner than Illuser was letting on. And then Illuser spoke again and his hopes continued to soar. Indeed soon!!!
But, they wouldn't be fighting today. Sad. And they weren't even going to train to get ready to fight. Even sadder. And when Illuser stated what they were going to do, he frowned a bit. Boring. But he listened. After all, Illuser looked like the type of teacher to smack someone not paying attention....
His eyes followed Illuser's hand up to the horns sprouting from the man's head. He could get things like that?! COOL!!! He shook his head at the question, his eyes still gazing up at the horns. What would he look like with horns....?

The female's name was Violet? And her hair color was violet? How obnoxiously cute. If Reiss had any doubts that the girl would prove to be anything more then a hindrance during their training they were squashed by her words. Without the will and confidence of a warrior there would be no way she would be able to keep up with a group of 'males'. It would be unfortunate if their training was held back by the fellow youngling but in truth there really wasn't much he could do. He was not the type of person to offer assistance - unless of course it proved to hold some kind of merits, something he was sure aiding this particular specimen would not give. He would simply have to ignore her and hurry on through the training.
He was actually a bit relieved over the fact that they would not be given weapons just yet, and for a brief moment it showed on his face before he was able to reign it back. The fact the teacher was at least competent enough to know the proper time for weaponry seemed to at least give the older male some credits to his name. A total number of four to be exact. As much as he simply loved the idea of spending more then a single session with these individuals, Reiss had no desire to be victim to one of his classmates overly enthusiastic efforts. The possibility that his own skills, or lack of, with a weapon causing the Cor injury didn't even cross his mind. After all, there was no way he would allow himself to partake in such an error.
An irritated frown crossed his face at Illuser's words, his eyes narrowing as the larger Cor's face lit up into a grin. For a brief moment Reiss wondered if the other would still be grinning if he knew that the smaller was not one to forget such an insult. One day they would both be on level playing fields and when they time came the teal haired male would take his revenge for such a blatant display of disrespect. For now however, the elder had a point and for the training to go successfully he would have to suck in his pride an allow the other his moment of triumph.
For a brief moment Reiss found his mind wandering in an almost anarchical direction. What was the point to him even being present in training anyway? He had no desire for the path of the warrior and while he was not as hesitant as their more feminine classmate, he too did shared a dislike for the rather barbaric hunting rituals used by the warrior Cor. No, if it were up to him he would have begun training as a Healer almost immediately upon entrance to the academy. It was only a matter of time before the tell tale abilities of the Healer class reared up in him - something he had assured himself would happen despite the rarity of such abilities. He would become a Healer. It was his destiny.
Eyes that he hadn't even been aware that he had closed snapped open and for the briefest of moments a fierce sense of determination flashed through those gray orbs before they snapped back into attention. Almost immediately he had to resist the urge to snarl at today's schedule. Did the Academy think it's students incapable of doing their own research into how life insides its walls was conducted? Judging from their teachers words he assumed this to be the case and he immediately found himself reaching out to rub the bridge of his nose in irritation, only half-listening to Illuser's words as the larger, more experienced Cor explained what he believed to be even the most basic of concepts. The only thing of real interest was his comments about soul orbs, and even then it was already stuff that Reiss had read about prior to class.
A question did form in his mind however, and while he knew that it was probably something that could be answered with more research he figured it might as well be brought up now. Especially since it was something that was not normally documented. "What about the rare few students who are to become Healers? From my understanding, which is solely based on the books I have read prior to my acceptance into the Academy, those of the Healer class do not feed in the same way as those who hunt." He paused, realizing that in truth that was not so much a question as a statement. "My questions are as followed; Are the soul orbs produced through hunting adequate sustenance for a Healer who has yet to acquire their ability to heal? And if not... what is to happen in terms of receiving proper nutrients?"

Violet had to admit that she was rather glad to hear that they weren't going to be taking up any weapons tonight, nor were they going to be diving headlong into fighting one another here and now. That was good, very good. That they were, instead, going to be learning about the Academy as well as the world of Thareon made her rather excited, that sort of things she was most certainly looking forward to more. There was a lot to learn and she was eager to sponge up what could be useful for not only herself but anyone that she might group up with later when it came to fighting. Having a partner while out in a fight would be quite useful, in fact... she had a feeling that if anyone Ike would be a rather useful partner given his overwhelming enthusiasm. Best to hide behind someone that was eager for battle after all, perhaps she could learn to use weapons that allowed her to stand back? A bow and arrow perhaps?
Her attention turned for a moment to looking over at Reiss as he set to speaking, first a statement followed by his questions which had her growing that much more thoughtful. He seemed to have done a bit of research before coming to the meeting tonight hadn't he? To know so much about the Healers and what they could and couldn't do. She wondered about them herself, after all they were people she would likely get to know quite well while going through life, to be able to get any wounds she might sustain fixed. He seemed to be quite curious about their lives, didn't he? What they could feed from and the like. Best that she pay attention to the answers that Illuser gave since it might be important later if the Healers required payment for their work.
That thought filed away the purple haired girl returned to thinking of questions of her own. After Reiss's words she was certain that anything she might ask wouldn't really sound in anyway intelligent... she probably should have spoken up first, huh? Oh well, she wasn't to worried. Chewing on her lower lip it was the final thing that Illuser had said that really stuck in her mind, he'd said that the orbs could have an impact upon their appearance and if there was one thing that was important to Violet it was just that, her appearance. She lifted a hand up, tapping a finger against her lips in a thoughtful fashion.
Instantly something came to mind, "Instructor Illuser! What sort of orb did you go after to get your pretty tail?" She asked of him, as expected after Reiss's inquiries hers didn't seem to terribly intelligent but given that it almost seemed as though their teacher's tail was trying to gain her attention again the way it was moving she couldn't help but to turn attention it. If you asked her she seriously though that the tail wanted to have attention since despite the fact that their teacher tried to turn her attention else where it kept wagging as though of its own accord.
It was so cute! The more she watched it the more that she wanted one of her own, "I bet its soft, huh? It kind of looks it." She mused, not exactly a question of the teacher as much as it was an observation over the interesting limb. She shifted in place for a moment hands clasping together behind her back, seeming to try to hold up a thought bubbling up in her. It worked for all of five seconds, max before she blurted out, "Can I pet it?" Oops. Way to look intelligent around your teacher and peers she thought to herself but the question was out there and she couldn't exactly take her words back now could she...?

Illuser was not completely able to resist the amusement that twinkled in his eyes at the way Ike's emotions shifted so rapidly and the way he seemed shocked and amazed at Illuser's horns and tail. Of the three of them, the older Cor conluded he probably liked Ike the best. Sure, he was immature and a little too spastic for the soon to be Vars' tastes but he liked power and advancing and was eager to use weapons. That made him Illuser's kind of Cor. Still, though, the elder Cor couldn't come up with a suitable nickname for this young one and concluded he might just have to call him by his real name for a while. Oh well, at least there was Peacock.
The stuck up, self-assured manner of Peacock annoyed him more than a little. It was clear to the tall Cor that his one thought himself far more important than he really was and Illuser resolved to teach him a lesson or two. Of the three in the room this Peacock would be the one he would hit the hardest with things. The challenging way Reiss looked at him only confirmed Illuser's suspicions and told him that he needed to squash the way this one acted sooner, rather than later or things would merely get out of hand. Especially once they started to train in the Wilds. Who was to say this particular boy wouldn't take matters into his own hands to further his advancement unnaturally? While Illuser had no problem with those who had ambitions, ones who thought themselves innately superior left a nasty taste in his mouth and he allowed some of this distaste to show on his face as his own eyes narrowed in response to the way Peacock's did.
This look of 'Challenge me now if you dare' remained on his face until Reiss spoke. While the haughty tone of his voice told Illuser he clearly thought himself well learned and highly educated, hardly deserving of this 'class' he was in the questions he asked made him want to laugh. In fact, the older Cor allowed himself the liberty of a hearty chuckle at the expense of Peacock. He had no idea where the young Cor had got the idea that Healers couldn't eat soul orbs or that they might be insufficient, but it was amusing that he not only presumed he knew about Healers but that the boy clearly thought he was a Healer. If a yet latent one.
Illuser closed the distance between the two and looked down at the new Cor, amusement still clearly written across his face, "And pray tell, what book exactly is it you read that told you these things about Healers?" His lengthy arms folded across his chest as he leaned back a little, settling into an obviously relaxed posture lacking any real defense should the Cor decide to have at him. A part of Illuser hoped that Peacock would act out, in fact. If he did, then Illuser could swiftly put him in his place, much the way he had the dragons who's soul orbs now gave him the wings, horns and tail he was adorned with. His tail twitched a little as he waited for an answer before continuing with his response, "Healers can eat Soul Orbs, just as any other Cor can."
With one final, pointed glower down at the Cor Illuser allowed his wings to flap and lift him off the ground and back to where he had previously stood. He was putting on a bit of a show, he knew, but he didn't really care. This Reiss needed to realize his place as a newbie. The draconic tail whipped back around in front of Illuser, poised before him as he explained about Healers, his eyes no longer focused just on Reiss but slowly looking between each of the three, lingering just a little on Violet before returning to Ike and back again. "All Cors require Thari to eat and Menthari to grow and adapt their appearance. All Cors eat Thari, or soul orbs. Healers, however, are the only ones that may absorb the soul of other Cors and do so in very tiny parts while healing. Eventually, as a Healer heals more and more Cors those soul pieces will form a Menthari. Which may then be absorbed into the Healers body to alter it or their powers in some way."
Once again Illuser gestured to the horns atop his head, allowing his wings and tail to draw their own attention with a simple quiver, "Much as any Cor can collect Thari that will coalesce into Menthari to alter their appearance and powers." An aqua eyebrow quirked as he stared back down at Reiss, "Any more questions, Peacock?"
After a short pause Illuser's features softened and his tail turned back to a friendly stance behind him and off to the side, still waving back and forth much as a cat's might when they're annoyed as he turned to look at Violet. She was simply too nice so far for him to stay angry looking when he spoke to her. It bothered him a little bit that that was true, but there was really nothing he could do about it. Illuser was always soft for the fairer sex.
As she had before, the young female surprised him. Rather than excited or rude as the two boys she seemed to be thinking an awful lot. Like Reiss she showed no interest in fighting yet, but Illuser hoped that would change. Unless she was a Healer. In which case...well, he wasn't quite sure what to do aside from pass her off to someone else to instruct. Her question threw him off guard once she spoke, and he stared at her blankly for a moment before it fully registered. His tail swung into a more prominent view and he tilted his head as he pointed to it, "My...tail...? Dragons and Quetzalcoatl."
It was only after answering that the instructor grew curious about why she had asked and he leaned forward a little, "...Why do you ask?"
Her next question threw him off even more when she continued to go on about his tail, though his surprise finally gave way to amusement as she even went so far as to ask if she could touch his tail. With a glance over at Reiss, he walked forward and offered her his tail. He had to give her credit - she was gutsy to ask such a question and so he rewarded her with an impish grin, "Sure, you can touch it."

Ike made a mental note to go after some dragons as Illuser's wings and horn and tail were all just SO COOL! Plus, dragons were tough, right? Exactly his type of soul to be going after. He'd just need some shining armor, a big sword, and maybe a damsel in distress... The last he wasn't too sure about. But the rest was definitely required!
The Cor watched as Illuser taunted and picked at Reiss before flying back to his original spot. Too cool! He listened as Illuser spoke about Thari and Menthari and how a Cor could make Menthari out of Thari. Or they could eat the orbs.
"Uh.... how do you make Menthari?" Ike asked, as it seemed Illuser wasn't going into more detail at the moment.

Dragon and Quetzalcoatl? Those sounded quite tough she thought to herself which meant that Illuser must be even tougher if he were able to take them down so that he could obtain such features. Her liking of him increased that much more before she gave a little clap of her hands, "That's amazing that you could beat them." She said, sounding quite awed.
Her awe over his beating those creatures though was nothing compared to her happiness when his tail came to hover before her and she was told that she was in fact allowed to touch. She gave an excited sound in her throat before floating a little closer, hands reaching out to pet the fluffy end of her Instructor's tail, "Wow! It is soft." Just like she had guessed it would be she thought to herself in a happy fashion, deciding that today had to be the most wonderful day of her young life! It was most like a silly and girly thing to be happy about, one her classmates might tease her about later but it was completely worth it, "So pretty, thank you!" She chirped happily after she pet the soft, fluff on the end of Illuser's tail for as long as she dared before releasing it. Best that she didn't pet him to much, she didn't want for him to think she was treating him like an animal or something since that was far from the truth. A part of her had wanted to see if she could braid the fluffy part of the tail though to be honest, something she would keep to herself. If she had a tail like that it would be to pretty to decorate and style, she bet it would look very nice with a ribbon tied around it! Yet another thought she kept to herself.
Freed from the mesmerizing grip the tail had on her she reminded herself that they were in class and she should be paying attention to more then just Illuser's amazing features and how she would decorated them if she could and instead she should pay more attention to the lessons that they were being taught. When Ike asked another question her attention turned first to him and then to Illuser to await his answer to it.
